Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..
Yes, I am using shared server for https (for the time being) and my ISP has given me that URL to use. I am using the shared server url just fine. It's only when I get to the final page of the checkout where it fails on the 'continue' button..
I'll try turning off https and see if that works. It's just a demo anyway..
I didn't want to publish my actual URL in this posting just yet..
Just to clarify:.
Some shared hosts will give you a DIFFERENT link for SHARED SSL. It may not be the same as, or even contain your iPage domain name...
I am having the exact same problem. I'm using a shared SSL server and get the 'page cannot be found' error when I click the continue button..
My host is Ipowerweb and I'm using 2.2ms2..
Has anyone figured this out? Is it a problem with Ipowerweb?..
Never mind. I found the solution at this thread.
Version - 2.2ms2.
Database - MySQL.
I'm playing/testing the out-of-the-box installation. I can show products, sign up as a new customer, put products into my cart and go thru the checkout process....all of that is fine..
When I'm done with the checkout process, checkout_success.php, I click on the 'Continue' button. Then, I get a 'Page cannot be found' error..
I noticed that the URL changes, incorrectly. On checkout_success.php, I would have a URL like (the url doesn't print correctly on this post, so just rollover it with your mouse):.
The URL changes to:.
I'm not sure if this is a configuration issue within oscommerce, or if this is some issue with my ISP. Any ideas?.
Do you have SSL available to you on your host's server? If not, remove the HTTPS url from the catalog/includes/configure.php and catalog/admin/includes/configure.php and the checkout should work..
If you want a secure checkout, you may have to contact your host. Some have direct access to SSL via.
, yet others use a "shared" SSL server. In that case they will give you the HTTPS url for your configuration...
