Enter your email address below and we'll send you the latest coupon codes to save on Medifast every month. We'll even give a lucky person a month supply of free food.

First of all 1000 calories a day-Medifast Diet? Thanks for any comment. Another question... Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstenance from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

Getting the banner:.

1. Copy the following text using your favorite method:.

[IMG*]http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab74/pennosh/ToughLove.jpg[/IMG*].

2. Click on the "Edit Profile/Settings" link at the top of this page.

3. Click on the "Edit Signature" link on the left of the page.

4. Place your cursor in the "Edit Signature" area (looks like a mini version of Microsoft Word) and paste the text you copied using your favorite method.

5. Remove the two asterisks (*) from the text you just pasted.

6. Click "preview signature". You should now see the banner in the Preview area (above where you are editing)!!!.

7. Click the "Save Signature" button. If you do not, all this will have been for naught! So make SURE you save this after you are all set!.

Anyone is welcome to join, and if folks have additional ideas on how we can commit, I am happy to hear them!..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you an answer..

Good morning MT & everyone!.

Down 2 lbs - LIKE!.

Was busy most of weekend so am having to do catchup on the boards - speed reading is not my specialty and I noticed you guys were prolific this weekend!.

Hope everyone had a good OP weekend and great losses to all! Will check in later...

Yeah MT! What she said..

Only working until noon today. Then I'm off to meet Nori for lunch. Love it when I get to meet Medifast peeps!..

Good morning, kids! DOWN THREE MORE POUNDS THIS MORNING! Still have yet to enter it in my spreadsheet to see how the other measurements look, but I'm off to do that in a minute..

Karen, congratulations on your loss! EIGHT sticks of butter, baby!.

MT, sorry somebody's steaming your broccoli already this morning. Too early for broccoli steamers...

Yay Penny! You go girl!.

I have to agree with you, steamed broccoli is not my breakfast food of choice...

Okay, the verdict is in!.

Another 3/4 inch off my waist, another inch off my thighs and a quarter inch off my upper arm! And, according to my scale, of the three pounds, 1.8 of them were pure, lumpy F A T! BMI is down half a point (good for a week) and I'm feeling pretty darn good about those numbers!..

Thanks, girls! I'll be taking measurements every month now. The first couple of weeks are fun, but I don't want to drive myself cracray with numbers..

I find the more you research and analyze, the more you second guess yourself. At least that's the way it is with me...

I have my own steamed broccoli this morning! Ugh!..

Ewww on the steamed Broc for Breakfast, but some people just like to stir the pot, huh?.

The GIRL came home for dinner last night with her boyfriend. It was fun! We got caught up and then watched a movie. Man I love Red Box!.

I'm finding a.

PINK.

Scarf to wear to the studio..

I said that for.

MT's.

Benefit..

Thanks for putting on the coffee and waking us up, today...

Morning Chatty..

I finally went out this weekend and bought a water filter contraption I've had my eye on for a while. Doing my part for the environment and all. hehe. It's the Filtrete water system that filters water directly into 4-16.9 oz bottle, that have resealable caps. Awesome little toy. I usually go through 4 bottles of water a day at work (have a big cooler at home) and I absolutely HATE using all that plastic.

Save me a few pennies too which is never a bad thing...

Oh De that sounds great. I don't think I've heard of that. I need to Google today!..

Okay, did the conversation "over there" take another bad turn?..

ANYWAY.....

Getting ready to take the little one to the mall for the girly shopping trip I promised her. I just enjoyed a chocolate chip pancake and will bring a shake to mix into a diet soda at lunch while she noshes on her Johnny Rockets grilled cheese..

I'll check in when I get back. Play nice, kids...

No, not so far. My grumble this morning is regarding the thyroid problem thread...

Morning ladies.

Congrats Penny & Karen- WTG!.

Single digits temperature wise here this morning brrrr.

Day 3 of my Bi-Annual 5&1 Blitz & I'm down 4.5 already <DUCKING FOR COVER> That's why I freaking love this program!.

Had the CC pancakes this morning too with WF syrup, yummmmmm.

Have a great OP day TLers..

Good morning!.

I'm excited to say I am 3.2 lbs down for this week's weigh in!!! So happy about that!.

I'm sorry I missed the drama before it got deleted. Super busy week at work, but I'll check in when I can..

De, I have a good friend that lives in Scottsdale. I met her on-line 5 years ago, but now we are irl friends.

I've been there several times to stay with her. Our kids are the same age, so it's a lot of fun...

What went poof? Meh, doesn't matter, the drama is ridiculous...

Morning folks! I am taking it easy today, for the last day, since school will start tomorrow. I am happy it begins on a tuesday because I only have 1 class and it is at night, so I will be able to still sleep in the first day! But then I will have to get my happy azz up early. Did I mention I am not exactly a morning person? Oh well..

I am having some healing issues. I burnt my hand on the oven 2 times in the last month. Dumb yes. Anyway, the first one took about 3 weeks to heal and the second one is looking pretty bad at this point. Mind you, both were very minor burns in most standards. Does anyone remember having this issue? I wonder if it is related to the low cal diet or something? It just seems like my skin is really having a hard time healing.

This is ridiculous!.

De, I didnt think that thread was that bad. I have also talked with many doctors who act like Armour is crap. THe drug company that produces Levo is brainwashing them. I read a really interesting book about it...

Good morning, darlings!.

To clarify about yesterday's disastrous combination of diet black cherry soda and vanilla 70 shake, made HOT: I got cocky thinking that I could really wing it and pull off this combination. It was overreaching. Hubris. I was WRONG and it was VILE..

There wasn't an explosion - I heated the soda slowly on the stove and mixed in a mug. No cleanup, and I kept it down and everything. Yay me!.

Karen, Penny, Coach, Chickie - yay for your losses!!!.

Marilee - I found that minor things were healing very slowly for me just before I started MF. I attributed it to a really blown, worn-out body/immune system. Perhaps you're just running a little ragged now? See your doc if it worries you....

De, it's like a superpower - your involvement in a thread increases it's chances of going poof by 300%!..

Freya - <nodding> I've noticed that too..

Marilees - It's not the discussion, it's the way people respond to it. First with a HC telling the OP that it doesn't matter you must eat within 1 hour. As for the last post, it's taking a GP's word on something they likely don't know that much about. I've actually had GP's tell me their opinions followed by, "but it's not my area of expertise". I think the fact that I have been on Armour for almost 42 years and am still here to tell the tale speaks volumes about whether or not it's "crap". I absolutely do not dispute that there have been some issues with it over the years, especially in the last 3 when they changed their formulation.

Having it compounded is the answer I think. They can be very specific about the actual amounts of T3 and T4 that are included in the capsule. Synthroid has screwed me up so bad I'm not sre I'll ever recover...

Never mind me today. Headache is back with a vengeance and I'm trying desperately to get rid of it before lunch...

I love my armour and I fought like hell to get a doc to give it to me. I think it has helped me lose weight. Or at least made me have more energy. I totally agree with you and the drug companies **** me off!!!!! Now off to the gym..

Freya- I have issues with my immune system as is. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Hyshimotos (sp). I take injectable immune suppressants. Anyway, I am use to that. But this seems much worse. I think it is medifast related. I will hold off for awhile on the doc, but if it doesnt heal soon I may make an apt...

De, sorry about the headache! I woke up with a tiny one, but it's because I slept for 10.5 hours after 3 nights of short and crappy sleep in a row. Yay for being rested! I'm aspiring to reach functional at some point today..

Marilee - yeah, keep a good eye on it. And use those oven mitts!..

Freya - I think this morning I can chalk it up to a new pillow. I hate breaking in new pillows, but sometimes it just needs to be done...

Yes. New bedding is tough. Hope the pillow stops being a jerk soon..

I got a new mattress and I LOVE not sleeping in a trough. That's fantastic. But it's a little firm and I find that my bottom hand falls asleep pretty regularly (I'm a side sleeper). So I think I'm going to put my memory foam mattress topper on it and try it that way. The guy who sold it to me recommended trying it as the manufacturer designed it first, which I did. But I think I need more squish..

Feeling kind of skinny when I have too little padding to keep limbs getting blood flow while sleeping on a totally normal nice mattress...

I think my next bed purchase will be a sleep number. I need a softer mattress because of my fibro and the hubs likes his firm. I just hate new pillows though. I have enough sleep issues as it is...

I did notice last year when I was on Medifast I had burns that would take a really long time to heal. I burn myself on my flat iron frequently and also on my stove. They would get really gross looking and take at least a couple of weeks to heal and much longer to start fading. I was contributing it to getting older (40 is the magical age for all kinds of crazy stuff it seems), but it could have been MF. THat never occurred to me...

Ugh De! That's the worst!! I had 3 of my favorite kind of pillow and now I'm down to 1 as I take it on trips with me and forget it or something stupid like that..

I will be very sad when this one is gone. I haven't been able to find anything even close to this one...

I sit very close to a kitchen at work. It works great for having access to make my meals and water..

However, it is not nice to have to smell all the different foods being cooked in the 3 microwaves every day...

I've started listening to classical music with my earpods at work. I'm really finding that it helps sooth me, make me more focused and make it easier to not think about food..

I hate thinking about food. On the brighter side, I looked in the mirror this morning and really liked what I saw. I feel pretty again. I haven't felt pretty in several months...

GM Tough Lovers!.

First of all, congrats on all the losses... skinny chicks watch out! There's a whole new breed of skinny coming your way!.

I love Monday Holidays. Got all my work done on Saturday and Sunday - now for the relaxation!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!.

I bought pack of canned chicken for those quicky chicken salad days when I didn't feel like cooking... last night was one of them. BLAHHHH!!! That stuff is disgusting! Now gotta figure out how to pawn it off on the family through fat-ridden pasta or something..

Not much to report here... hope all have a good day!..

Heading out for lunch. I'll check in with you when I get home to give you all the dirt on Nori <snicker>..

EEWWW to the chicken! I did the same - I ended up putting it in my Medifast soups to split my lean. It's only me & DH and I.

Rarely.

Cook separate for him. Once in a while I'll make him his "Irish steaks", him bein' an Irishman & all and a total meat & potatoes kinda guy..

Not much to report today - I'm off and having a putter kind of day. Like Keri, I got all my 'chores' done over the weekend and I'm just doing what.

I.

Want today....which is wrestling with some hardware related to our TV...<GRRRR>. DH is the hardware guy, but this is my priority and he's busy with his hardware priority, so I'm left to struggle along. I don't have much patience for all the cords and cables and this project takes a lot of connecting/disconnecting..

OK, <deep breath>. Better now. I'll just pop in every once in a while to keep my sanity..

P.S. I'm down 4.8 this week.

My ticker is out of date, I'm waiting to get below that number to update it...hopefully pretty soon.

Congrats to all the losers!!..

SO, tonight is a meeting for this biggest loser competition I signed up for. They will be weighing us in. Is is wrong for me to wear heavy thought and to drink a **** load of water before hand so that I weigh more? I may need the advantage since my weight loss has slowed so much due to working out and gaining muscle. I am not even sure I should be doing this damn contest to begin with...

Karen.

,.

Chickie.

And.

Penny.

Are all losers for the week! I am raising my water bottle to you!..

Jan.

Congrats on the loss! I just posted that one after reading page 1. Then I got to page two and saw your loss as well. I'm lucky I can keep up here...

Marilee.

, I would drink lots and lots and lots of water before I went. I did that last year for the Christmas challenge at work. I won! I was the only one to lose weight. Funny thing was that I was just in transition and lost about 10 pounds during the challenge. Ok....so some of it was water weight...

I had an emergency root canal this afternoon. One of the best things about keeping some Medifast meals around is that I have things to eat that will actually satisfy me. A little hot cocoa for the wintery mix that is scheduled to start in a few hours. Could I have a 2-hour delay tomorrow and sleep in?..

Ugh Barb! Sorry to hear about the root canal..

Had a great lunch with Nori, her hubby, gorgeous daughter and SIL. What a wonderful group of people. Went to Sweet Tomatoes and had nice healthy salads and just yacked away! One thing I've noticed when I get the opportunity to meet other members IRL is that there is no awkwardness at all! It's like you've known them forever. Her daughter lives here, so I'll bet I get to see her again..

Now can't wait to spend some time with Chatty!.

Marilees - Too bad your contest can't go off of inches lost rather than weight lost...

De you should get some sort of award for being the Medifast Hostess or somethin'!.

Barb - OUCH. But I am with you in the respect that with Medifast we get in all the protein we need to heal quickly and since we can make it in liquid form if need be, well we are good to go..

I remember when one of the Twins had wisdom teeth out recently, that I told the Dr I was going to use Medifast to keep them full. He asked about it, I gave him the medical printout here and he was 100% OnBoard. Then he mentioned it to some of his patients and........you guessed it, several are now on Medifast and getting healthy...

I think I would do the very same thing..

I mean even just 2 cups of water is a pound you know..

Looks like TLers are also very savy and smart, too...

I am so about to float away my friends! Sorry about the root canal Barb! Yikes! Not fun!.

Okay, I have this meeting in less than an hour. I will be a peeing machine. I already am one. Not like it's so new to me. I tend always guzzle a lot of water. Anyway, yes, I so wish this was by the inches cause I would blow others away.

I will not get so many on the scale is all. I bet everyone is drinking a lot right now. Although maybe not? THe education level is sorta low in this area, sadly. So, perhaps not many have thought of this? I would be surprised though if that were the case. Anyway, I need to work on my level of competitiveness.

De, glad you had a good lunch! Sounds like fun!..

De, I agree....no awkwardness. We've all shared something together, the weight monster. I have also met some Medifast friends as well. I am hoping to run a 1/2 marathon next fall with one. Ok....there I've said it again. The more I say it the more likely it is I will do it...

Hi all,.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi *waves*. Also it's the end of week 1 and I've lost 8lbs woot woot! Back to check in later..

Audrey..

Barb - You WILL do it because I know about it and I'm gonna MAKE you! LOL.

It's funny. Even after 3 years, I still talk to the original core group of the old team Rogue just about every single day, either by email or on the boards. We have had several get togethers and I even went on a cruise with one. It's really amazing the quality of lasting friendships I've made with both Rogues and non-Rogues. We are spread out all of the country, but it doesn't seem to matter in the least. Now I'm thrilled to add Nori to that list (I hope.

)...

Woo hoo Audrey. That's the weight of one gallon of water you are no longer carrying around every day!..

De, I have no doubt you will! Or I'll be at the receiving end of one of those kittys. Yikes. Or even worse, Rachel's syringe..

I am shuddering!..

I think I might almost be more akeered of Rachel. I know she scares ME!!! And that's no easy feat, let me tell you!.

Audrey - A bit WOOT WOOT to you!!..

LOL and the fact that it is in PRINT does not hurt either..

Yeah De there is something quite special that bonds people when they go thru something as traumatic as weight loss. The thing about the Rogues was, we were way more than that. In fact the daily banter rarely was about our weight, but about our lives. Our hopes, dreams, worries, and families...

LOL....putting it in print in here means it will happen. Y'all keep us accountable...

De, just noticed the kitty with the helmet is back. That drops the tension level in here!..

Ok, so I goggled pomelo and up popped your kitty picture. You are famous!..

Hi TL Gals.

I love y'all because I'm a tough love blunt gal myself. I'll try to keep up with the daily threads. They sure are a lot more palatable to read than some of the BS on the other sections. I figured when I had to put more than three people on ignore (and block at least one of them from PMing me) that something was up, and I should take a break from the ninnies. For now, I'm sticking to the guys' section (less drama, more facts) and this team (less drama, more laughter), with a lot of skimming of my formerly favorite Medifast Connection section. The Medifast section usually makes me want to throw my monitor out the window too, so I have to be careful there too...

Yeah, not feeling the need for weaponry today. hehe.

Hey there Lees! Good to see you over here...

Well glad you stopped by. Yeah lots of mine holes out there. Be careful..

Oh De I just noticed the kitty too. Whew!..

Congrats Penny on the loss!.

MT and De I'm sorry someone is already steaming your bracoli..

Karen congrats on your loss as well go you!.

Chickie congrats to you! 3 seems to be the magic number this week..

Marilee I'm sorry you burned your hand. Have you tried the uv glove? I love them..

Jan congrats on the lbs woot woot!Barb sorry about your root cannal. I gotta get 3 wisdom teeth yanked next month and I'm hoping all goes well. Hope your not in alot of pain and feel better. Also good luck on the marothon..

Thanks all for the incuragement off to make a shake with 1tsp of instant coffee mmmmm mocha. To anybody I missed hi and it's not because I don't love it's my scatter brain lol..

Audrey..

Jan, if I haven't already said it, CONGRATS on the loss! That's a nice number!.

Audrey, you, too! DOWN....

DOWN....

DOWN go those tickers!.

I've had a crazy busy day, considering it was a day off! We went to the mall, then got home, changed and went to the Y where I worked my upper body to exhaustion! I can't burn those weights up like I was when I was eating twice as much, but I do okay!.

It was definitely an Egg Beaters kind of night for me. Sometimes it really is easier to cook separate dinners. I sauteed some green beans with a touch of olive oil and had those on the side. Weighed my portion, of course. Not sure what my late meal is gonna be - I've been having a lot of dessert-y things. Maybe I'll have some hot soup..

Or a brownie...

Hello Medfasters!!!.

I am re-starting the program after not being successful before. All that has done is put additional pounds on me, so I am starting brand new. I have about 60-70 pounds to lose. I have already lost 3 pounds since a few days ago. My goal for the end of this month is 7 more pounds, which will make my total 10. Best of luck to all !!!!!!!.

Ht: 5'1.

SW: 191.5.

CW: 188.0.

GW: 128.0..

Ouch Barb! Sorry about the root canal..

De, ITA it is amazing the friendships you can make starting out on the internet. My "internet friends" know me better than most of the people in my life and I have made some long lasting, loving friends that I will always be grateful for. I'm glad that you girls have experienced the same thing..

People in my real life used to think I was crazy meeting a bunch of girls I met on the internet in different places. I think it's becoming more and more common now. Either way, I'm glad I made the leap the first time...

I'm exhausted now. I almost ate dinner too late tonight and freaked out in the hunger department. Luckily I had left overs from last night that I could quickly microwave and eat. I was scared for a minute I was going to flip out on a binge..

Phew!..

Anyone who wears rubber gloves and holds a needle like that to me... SCARES THE CRAP OUTTA ME!!!..

Sorry to hear about your root canal Barb. Hope you are feeling better soon!! But have to ask... did you have a flashback of Rachel when the needle was coming straight for your mouth???..

Della.

Wow 100 pounds makes me feel like there is hope. 92.6 to go..

Yo can dooo it (in my attempt using a NY accent).... one day at a time..

Hey all. Back from my meeting. I managed to make myself gain about 12 lbs through my heavy choice in layered clothing and boots and large consumption of water! I was pretty proud! I would say that was the first time I have ever tried to weigh more before!.

One of my team mates actually took her shoes off. I was like what are you doing? We are trying to weigh as much as possible here! She said I didn't want to be that fat. I said, I weighed 12 more lbs! And she goes, but you look good. I said, I gained that on purpose! She sorta looked at me strangely. Needless to say, I was assigned this team. Oh well, I found it amusing! My new team mates were talking about weighing in on fridays that way they would have the weekend not count and I asked them why and they said so they could eat whatever. I was thinking to myself, ***? We haven't even started this weight loss and you are already trying to figure out how to cheat yourselves? It was sorta disturbing to me! Granted, I was trying to cheat too, but not myself or not so I can eat junk! I think it is very different!..

Congrats to all of the losers this week!!!!! WOot! Woot!!!..

Hehe Chatt'ys family was convinced I was an ax murderer <snicker> Not sure where THAT idea came from...

Looks like I scared everyone away. hehe. Guess I'll log out for the night and talk to you all in the morning. Promise I'll leave the ax at home..

Well, a Dutch Chocolate Shake won out. I made it in the Ninja with ice and a few drops of banana extract. I am such a sucker for punishment - I don't think it's gotten above 15 degrees here all day - it's 5 now - and i've been cold for two weeks. Yet and still, I keep pulling out the Ninja and making these frozen concoctions. My husband thinks it's funny because it freezes my mouth and I talk like I've just been to the dentist!.

Speaking of which, Barb, hope the RC gave you some relief..

Marilee, wait until you show up next week in a sports bra and a pair of underwear! Ha ha! So sad that they're already trying to find a way around the contest. It just goes to show you how far YOU'VE come, that it bothered you...

I am still here. You didnt scare me away...

You think a string bikini would be too much??..

Weigh it first..

Clip your nails, blow your nose and shave your legs, too. It all adds up...

Have you tired the sushi with cucumber as the wrapper, no rice? I just saw a post about it. I am going to looking into it! I love me some sushi (well, before Medifast that is). I know Penny, you were talking about eating sashimi the other day...

Laughing, but secretly, I have to admit to all three...

Hi all, just wanted to say hi quick! Waiting on Blue Man Group to start. We are in the 3rd row and were provided with ponchos upon arrival. Oh, this should be good. The couple next to us is dressed to the 9s!..

Marilee, I HAVE had it - I didn't know what the name of it was. Our old sushi chef was awesome at it. It was scary to watch him cutting the cucumber!.

CONNORPONNOR!!! So glad to see you here, Dolly! Get some britches on, will ya'?!.

Rachel, we're living through you up here in the cold, so keep posting! I've heard great things about Blue Man Group's live show. You're gonna get wet! And your neighbors are gonna be mad!!! LOL!!!.

I'm off to nitey nite, kids...

Penny, did you ever read my tea comment a few days ago? About Matcha?..

Marilee.

- Woo Hoo on the weight GAIN. No that is a phrase you won't see often on this site, huh? bhwhwhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhaaaaaaaaaaa.

I think one of the benefits of this plan is that is really 'changes' how we look at our food choices and our lifestyle. I was saddened when I read that those people are already planning their cheats. But I was most saddened, because that was always me. I purposely made Monday Morning my Weigh in when I joined MF, for that very reason. It keeps me honest over the temptations of weekends..

Somehow I think with us (the TLers) on your side, you have a huge advantage over those folks. I know we will be rooting for you and of course.

De.

Will always be here to SMACK you, if you dare to even THINK of cheating...

Hey guys she is not kidding..

First of all they were angry that I had actually planned to meet an online friend in real life. Something we always tell our kids to never ever do. Right?.

They made me meet her the first time in the lobby of our hotel. They were kinda all hiding around to make sure she was SAFE for me to meet..

When she noticed some strangers staring, I had to laugh and tell her who they were. Finally they felt safe and now a trip to AZ always includes a meeting with De (aka the ax murderer/Troll hunter/ Smacker extraordinaire.)..

Oh those poor people next to you. My DH has seen that show. He says it is a bit strange, wild and messy, but fun in that weird way..

I agree with.

Penny.

We are enjoying your updates...

Agreed. I felt sorry for them too. Although I am unsure I have ever really cheated while on a diet. I tend to either do it or dont do it. Sorta a all of nothing type I guess...
