They think ebay is a game, it's ridiculous. I've become pretty apathetic towards these because of what you have mentioned:if you leave a negative, they in turn can also leave one...

Yep there just is no point leaving a neg cos you will get one back but then it makes ebay into a farce because the bad buyers/sellers still have good ratings.

The should be some way of blocking retaliatory feedback.

I remember seeing an ebay auction selling info on how to not receive retaliatory feedback so there must be a way to do it. his tag line was that you could buy the info and not pay, he would neg you and you wouldnt be able to neg him back, wish I had bought the info..

You should have bought it, not paid him, and tried to neg him..

Then send payment if it worked...

The only way that I know of to not get a retaliatory feedback is if the buyer doesn't pay, then doesn't respond to the unpaid item dispute. At that point they are banned from leaving any type of feedback...

Rob, I totally understand your frustration.. but please remember there are kids here and senior members should lead by example. As you generally do!.

That being said.... it really burns me up when I hear stuff like this..

Wait just one second here, how does a thread in a category with no moderators get deleted?.

HaHa, I'll resend my application in for the position.

Was just testing ya's.

Edit: Sorry Steve, didnt see you got the position. Congrats.

Actually, ebay gives you the option to avoid getting bids by members with different feedback ratings. I didnt opt for that and the non payer/bidder/ahole was a new member with no feedback at all. Now he has a nice -1 next to his name..

Buyer was....

Buyer: jamespeachison () [ contact buyer ].

Buyer's registered address.

Jake Grandin.

588 parell street.

Broomfield, CO 80020 United States.

Look familiar to anyone? Maybe I should post this in the other forum to warn people of bad buyer...

Yep, been there as well. Either as a seller, who's cherishing his 100% pos. feedback or as a buyer who never gets the items shipped after having paid for them..

Once they figure out that you're indeed trying to be as ethical as possible and see feedback as what it is - a portrayal of your honesty - it's almost like they silently blackmail you. "Leave me neg. feedback and I retaliate" ... it's become a joke. Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Only way to leave negative feedback I know is to wait until the time for feedback has almost run out - 90 days, I think but don't quote me. You drop a neg on him at the last minute and time runs out before he sees it..

You need three non-paying buyer strikes before you are banned (NARU), so if they have two and you give another then they cannot retaliate..

Some people say most Non-payers do not even know about feedback, or retaliation. Not willing to try that theory myself..

So file a Non-paying bidder claim,.

Do not threaten or harass the ***Bleep Bleep***.

, get your Final Value Fee removed from your charges, if there was another bidder consider giving them a "Second Chance Offer" and let it go. About one in four ebay auctions is a no-pay or a slow-pay. It is part of the business. I had two "sales" on Ioffer and neither paid, so they appear to be even worse...

Wouldn't it be nice if we had names that had so much bidding action that a guy would be a fool to not pay for the domain?. I really think some Ebayers buy stuff and then balance their checkbook or see something else and buy it and decide they don't have enough money for both winning items..

I rarely place a name in Bay, seen some good ones sell there though...

Yeah, that sucks. Same thing happened to me on Digital Point with the iTrader system, left negative feedback & buyer retaliated with a negative feedback as well. Started a thread about it & mods there gave an infraction for 'Harrassing Member'! But anyway, back on topic. Haven't used eBay for ages but I've read of people who give the negative feedback on eBay just before the last time you can give feedback so they can't get back at you, or others that give a positive rating but write a negative comment so hopefully the person doesn't know that it's been done...
