Question I have... A good free iPage web host that allows CSS coding? Thanks for any response. Another question on my mind: Hi guys,.

I'm desperately trying to edit the new products for October box on the main page - so that I can have images of my categories there, instead of having a categories box. I would then like to link my images to the categories page but that should not be a problem. The problem I am having is finding the actual box to edit - I've checked everything...but I'm obviously missing it. Incidently, when linking from an image to a category - would the link be :.

) or something like (FILENAME_???) I'm guessing it would be filename, but again I cannot see what to put there I cannot find the box...ah well...all part of learning!.

I'd be very grateful for your help. Many thanks.

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..

Many thanks for your speedy response - I've now got a test image up and running - I just need to sort the links out. Now I've had a look at categories.php and obviously,.

$categories_string .= tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, $cPath_new)'">';.

Has something to do with linking but I can't for the life of me work out whether to put that in along side the rest of the function or what..

Sorry to be a bit of a pain. But many thanks for the help so far...

Well ... who would have thought that "new products " would be found in "new_products.php"?.

Pleeeeeeeeease. Think, think, and think just a little bit more before posting cretinous questions..

No wonder it's so difficult to find anything useful in this forum...

I'm not going to argue with you - it's meant to be a place to help people, not to try and provoke responses..

It's not that I didn't look for New Products - I just didn't realise that it was a module. I searched everywhere boxes, functions, includes root, catalog root, etc. But that is now fixed...however, the more trickier of the two problems - sorting out links is not fixed..

I can understand that a lot of people just come on here and take, take, take but I would like to try and help some people out (where possible). But anyway, thanks for taking the time to respond.....

OK Rob,.

I didn't mean to snap. Having a bad(ish) day..

Good luck with your shop...

Yeah that seems to work - apart from the image rendered useless is now the red cross that won't disappear. I've tried the line of code suggested :.

<td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php if (!$cPath == '0') { echo ....;} ?>.

But it gets parse errors (unexpected '.'), I've tried fiddling around with the code but it wouldn't remove the image.....

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction anyway!..

I've messed with it some more and it still isn't fixed...I am right when I should be editing index.php? For those unsure what image I am talking about, this is the one :..

Righty - as you can see from the link below, the Manufacturers box no longer "functions". Basically, if I was to click on Ping, it brings up the Manufacturers page but shows what is on the index.php (the categories). Is there any way of fixing this?.

The link to my iPage site is :.

Changes that I've made feature in this thread :.

Hey Rob,.

How did you add categories in the middle of site?.

Can you help me? and tell how can I done same on my page too!.

Thanx for your Help!.

Comment #10

If you see the link above, that should help you..

Does anyone have any ideas as to why my manufacturers drop-down is no longer working? Perhaps it is because I've modified the cPath...hmm...I'll try ecartz's suggestion and get back to you!..

Comment #11

Right well I've done that and it loads like so :.

Exactly the same as the Home Page - perhaps this is what it is meant to do? Or is it me......

Comment #12

Anyone out there!?!.

I've been playing around and I cannot see any solution to this. Hopefully you guys can help me - a push in the right direction may help or am I wrong and everything is working fine? Can be checked at :.

Comment #13

Er - you didn't type it in verbatim did you?.

The "{ echo ....;} " means whatever was there before..

The full line would be.

<?php if (!$cPath == '0') { echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES$category['categories_image'], $category['categories_name'],.

I'll look at your manufacturers box tomorrow as I'm too knackered now. I can't see that it would be connected to the previous mod...

Thanks for your help, but sadly it did not seem to work. This begs the question - am I putting it in the right place! Currently, I am putting the code just below HEADING_TITLE like so:.

<td class="pageHeading"><?php echo HEADING_TITLE; ?></td>.

           <td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php if (!$cPath == '0') { echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES$category['categories_image'], $category['categories_name'],.

But there is also something which I've noticed which may be of interest or could be where I could delete or remove some code....

// Get the right image for the top-right.

   $image = DIR_WS_IMAGES'table_background_list.gif';.

   if (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['manufacturers_id'])) {.

     $image = tep_db_query("select manufacturers_image from "TABLE_MANUFACTURERS" where manufacturers_id = '"(int)$HTTP_GET_VARS['manufacturers_id']"'");.

     $image = tep_db_fetch_array($image);.

     $image = $image['manufacturers_image'];.

   } elseif ($current_category_id) {.

     $image = tep_db_query("select categories_image from "TABLE_CATEGORIES" where categories_id = '"(int)$current_category_id"'");.

     $image = tep_db_fetch_array($image);.

     $image = $image['categories_image'];.

If I wanted to get rid of the images on all pages - I presume I would delete this right?.

Anyway, thanks for your help so far. It really is appreciated...

Comment #15

Oooh er - mine doesn't look anything like that..

Maybe we have different versions..

My index.php in the main catalog folder (we are talking about the same file?) is headed.

$Id: index.php,v 1.1 2003/06/11 17:37:59 hpdl Exp $.

What's yours?.

The relevant bit of code looks like this:.

 if ($category_depth == 'nested') {.

   $category_query = tep_db_query("select cd.categories_name, c.categories_image from "TABLE_CATEGORIES" c, "TABLE_CATEGORIES_DESCRIPTION" cd where c.categories_id = '"(int)$current_category_id"' and cd.categories_id = '"(int)$current_category_id"' and cd.language_id = '"(int)$languages_id"'");.

   $category = tep_db_fetch_array($category_query);.

   <td width="100%" valign="top"><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">.

       <td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">.

           <td class="pageHeading"><?php echo $category['categories_name'] ?></td>.

<td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES$category['categories_image'], $category['categories_name'], HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>.

I would put the mod into the last line..

As for your second query, you could try commenting it out by inserting // on every line up to, but.

Not including.

The ?> and see what happens. That way you can easily repair it if it all goes horribly wrong.

Comment #16

Well, as suspected, I was putting the code into the wrong part!.

It has fixed the problem though - so many thanks! I'll play around with the editing of the image code and see how far I get. Sadly, fixing the top right image problem did not mean that my Manufacturers box is now fully functional....

You wouldn't have any ideas as to why it was, seemingly, reloading the "front page"?..

Comment #17

I guess you may have kind of forgotten...but have you got any ideas on how to fix the manufacturer's box? I've had no luck.....
