I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could assist you..
With master products you can either -.
1. Add the kit as the master and the 7 individual products as slaves, however you must force the customer to add at least 1 of each slave to their cart make a kit. Any missing product from the kit set would not constitute a discount. Master products does not enforce this – it is simply a grouping mechanism..
2. Add a dummy product as the master and the all 7 items as a single kit slave, this will not meet the requirement of inventory management and you're pretty much back to OSC attributes..
Therefore, master products will not meet your business requirement...
Master products is in development - *useful feedback* is required..
Starting from Master Products, you could either change the defaults to 1 item each *or* remove the quantity and buy_now buttons from the listing and make an add to cart button that will add all the slaves to the cart at once. It depends on how you want to use things. I think that the biggest weakness of the contribution for your purposes would be that a Slave can only have one master. If your parts can appear in multiple kits, you might have to wait for a future version that allows multiple masters per slave..
Ok, I am hoping that one of you can help me here. I have a client that sells satellite systems & accessories..
They have a promo going on right now that includes 5 receivers & a choice from 2 different dishs ALL for free (plus shipping)..
The problem that we are running into is that the client does NOT have a model number attached to the free package but they do to each of the free items in the package. & each of those free items in the package NEEDS to have the model number attached to them when the order is placed so that the shipping company can ship the right items in the package..
How should I configure the shipping? Can I attach it to the main free package or will I need to attach it to one of the free items in the package?.
How can I make this happen? Will the above mentioned contrib work for us?.
I have no problem entering each of those free items in the package 2 times. One with NO price assigned to use in the package & one with a price that can be bought individually. BOTH will have the same model number, will this cause a problem?.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!..
I am wondering if there is a way to group products together as kits, and have the kits correctly deduct from each item's inventory. I would also like to disocunt them..
Here's an example:.
I often sell a motor rebuild kit for $150..
It consists of:.
Bearing 1 $50.
Bearing 2 $50.
Bearing 3 $25.
Seal 1 $10.
Seal 2 $10.
Seal 3 $10.
Each of the items is a unique product (with a unique product_id) and a unique model number. I need to have a page where someone can add the assembled products at the discounted price, and have the individual products inventories deducted..
I cannot keep the assembled product kits as collated items, as my inventory is not that large. I would like fot the inssuficient stock message to appear if ANY of the items in a kit is unavailable as well..
Ant thoughts or suggestions?..
