I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can help you..

Do you have "Force Cookie Usage" set to True? We could help you better if you provided a link to your site. Please also post the first 20 lines of your configure.php...

I am experiencing the same problem. I doesn't happen for me, but I have had two different customers complain to me with the same description. They create an account, then click on new products and it takes them back to the login page. They click on contact and it takes them back to the login page, etc. They can't seem to view the products, it just keeps bouncing them back to the login page..

It is frustrating when I try it myself and everything works fine. I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thanks..

Steve Doherty,.

I don't see anything wrong with your configure.php. However, my browser (Firefox 1.0PR) doesn't like your SSL certificate - it says the issuer is unknown. MSIE6 likes it, though. Looking at the certificate details I don't see anything wrong with it. Strange.....

Have you added any contributions which change the login behavior? I can't reproduce the problem you describe either..

What options do you have set under Sessions in admin? Any of the "Check..." options set to true?..

I see what you mean about the certificate. Mozilla 1.6 gives that warning as well. That worries me a bit..

I've installed a couple contributions, but nothing I think would affect the login..

It seems like the problem just started a few days ago. First one customer "I was going buy all sorts of stuff, but can't get past this problem". I kinda didn't believe him, but then the next day I get another email from another customer describing the same exact problem. It seems to be a new problem. Only thing I've done recently is to add an "add to cart" button at the top of the page, but that was in product_info.php.

Oh... sessions huh? I don't actuall know what that stuff does. I wish there was better documentation for osc. Now that you mention it, I think I turned some of those to true a few days ago..

I put a valid directory path/name in for directory (but that doesn't turn anything on). Force cookies... I've always kept that false. (what's up with that?).

Check SSL Session ID, Check User Agent, and Check IP Address were all changed to true just recently. (the rest are false) You think that's it? Should those be all false? I feel so stupid when the answer is finally something so simple..

Where can I get more information on the sessions?.

Thanks...

And by the way, in case this clue makes a difference in this mystery... one customer who reported the problem was using Windows XP and he says: "I think the browser is Internet Explorer 6.0...whatever is included with AOL 9.0 Optimized", and he says he does not have a software firewall...

It's AOL's browser. I've seen it happen on four different OsC sites I've done, where users are using AOL's browser. Just another point that AOL is the devil, and nothing they do works right..

Their tech support blames OsC, but who knows how valid that is. I have yet to figure out a work around, except for putting on the index.php page, that the iPage site isn't compatable with AOL's built in browser, and to please use IE 6+..

Yep, AOL. Turn off all the "Check..." options in Admin under Sessions. That should take care of it. I think it's the IP check in particular - AOL users come in from a different IP when they're using HTTPS, I have found...

I turned off those checks under sessions. I emailed one of the customers having problems and asked him to try again. SUCCESS! He was "able to get in and see the lists of products, so apparently the problem is solved. Thanks a lot. Glenn".

So, another happy customer and another problem solved. Teamwork! Thanks stevel and MikeJandreaudotCom, and Serial too, for bringing it up in the first place, I hope this helps you too..

Now lets see if this customer actually buys a bunch of stuff as he implied when he first notified me of the problem. ;-).

And, yes, aol is the devil...

Just an update:.

Yes, that customer did in fact order as he promised. Nice $171 order..

Another customer that had the same problem had an Compuserver email address, so perhaps it is not just an AOL problem..

Thanks again...

I had a feeling someone was going to tell me that when I was writing it..

Thanks for the info ;-)..
