It is so wonderful and amazing to see such support and encouragement and GREAT advice!.

I'm still fairly early in my journey, but this support group just has far too much goodness and.

Knowledge.

To pass up!.

I've had my initial physician visits, mental health assessment, 6 months of supervised dieting, and the initial insurance paper work all completed. I'm now waiting on my first visit with a surgeon..

Everyone have a great weekend!.

Aw! Thanks everyone!.

It does feel like it's slowly creeping it's way towards the real thing!.

Sadly we had a massive overtaking at our insurance company, and according to them, "there's a massive backlog"..

I can be a patient waiter though, right?!..

I'm still pre-op, and I've been in this process since March, when I had my first surgical consult. We submitted everything to insurance for approval on 30 September. I've been on pins and needles waiting for the prior auth to come in. I'm hoping for a.

Surgery.

Date before Thanksgiving. Welcome to the group..

Welcome! I started in July and my.

Surgery.

Date is Nov 3. Insurance is usually the hold up, but this time they approved within 48 hours and the weight management dropped the ball. I started calling on Thursday and got all my dates today. I did have to be persistant and tell them that not returning my calls was just making me upset. Of course they said, "what calls?".

Anyway, GOOD LUCK & WELCOME!..

I agree with PatriciaG! The waiting is definately the worst. My.

Surgery.

Is next wednesday the 20th. It has been a long road but I can see the end. It will be faster than you know it. Good luck and keep everyone posted on how it is going! :)..

Seems like you have jumped through most of the hoops already! Good luck!..

Argh, the hoops indeed!.

After the 50th missed call, 3rd missed deadline (on their part), and weeks worth of lost.

Communication.

And "misunderstandings", I marched into both my doctors office and the insurance office and said, "I'm willing to jump through each and every circus hoop you put in front of me, but you've got to TELL me there a hoop!".

When I finally reached people who were serious about me, things fell into place..

It makes me wonder if insurances and physicians have a lot of patients who start this then give up because it's complicated, time consuming, and disheartening..

No one mentioned the hula hoops when starting this process! At least it's trimming my waist! ;)..
