BY THE TIME THEY LET ME GO, AFTER 2 STAYS IN THE HOSPITAL, AND A WOUND SITE INFECTION LATER, I HAD BEEN GIVEN SO MANY FLUIDS, I HAD 20 POUNDS TO SHED OF JUST WATER BEFORE I COULD EVEN START WITH ANY REAL WEIGHT LOSS....

I ALSO HAD LOST SOOOO MUCH WEIGHT PRE-OP, THAT MY BODY HAD TO DO A DOUBLE TAKE BECAUSE IT THOUGHT WE MAY HAVE DIED...HA HA HA.

I LOST 127 POUNDS PRE-OP, AND AM A GRAND TOTAL OF 158 POUNDS DOWN NOW AT ONE MONTH POST-OP...NOT INCLUDING THE 20 POUNDS OF FLUID I HAD TO DRAIN...ACTUALLY, IT WAS ALMOST 25 POUNDS, BUT WHO'S COUNTING REALLY...IT TOOK ME OVER A WEEK..LIKE 10 DAYS TO GET THAT PART OFF...MY SURGEON IS SUPER PROUD OF WHAT I HAVE DONE..SAW HIM YESTERDAY...SO I AM HAPPY TOO....

19 POUNDS IN ONE WEEK? IT DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU HAD TO LOSE TO START WITH, AND IF YOU HAD BEEN DOING ANY KIND OF DIETING PRE-OP...I KNOW THOSE WHO DIDN'T INITIALLY WILL LOSE ALOT THOSE FIRST WEEKS, AS IT IS SUCH A DRAMATIC CHANGE...I HAD BEEN SO CONTROLLED PRE-OP, THAT THIS WAS NOT THAT BIG OF A CHANGE...I WAS ONLY EATING ABOUT 900 CALORIES A DAY PRE-OP...NOT A BIG CHANGE IN 900 TO 500...NOW THAT I AM BACK UP TO 800...THINGS WILL BE MOVING AGAIN....MY BODY STALLS OUT AT 500...BUT AT 800 TO 1000..( YET TO BE 1000 FOR 4 MORE WEEKS I DO REALLY REALLY WELL...MY BODY RECOGNIZES THIS AS IT'S LEVEL TO.

LOSE WEIGHT.

, AND STILL NOT STARVE.....

When I went for my 2 week post op appointment (2 weeks ago) I had lost about 20 pounds and almost passed out on the scale. I was super excited as well. I haven't made it back to the gym yet but I do a good deal of.

Walking.

At work. Good luck!!..

Love you Liz! Thought about the age factor after I went to bed last night... Slept like a baby - a 49 year old one, but a baby none the less! Yep, were all different in one way or another. We just gotta keep on keepin on!..

It's so nice to see this positve post rather than that whining sniveling shit about plateaus and even worse GAS! Good girll you've done well. Just wait it even gets better. While I've only been on a scale 1 a month in a year I remember once that over a 2 1/2 week period in the early part of the nightmare, I lost over a pound and a half a day. ONCE mind you and in the beginiing. But everyone and every body is different so just enjoy it..
