First question I got is Anyone know good iPage web host with built in shopping cart? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... Could someone point in the right direction on how to handle this? I'm hoping others have had this happen to them..

I just got an email from a person who put in 15 items and then created her account, now all those items are gone. I checked the database and they aren't there, so where are they and how can I get them back?.

I went to phpmyadmin and checked the database and do not see them anywhere..

I do have a list of them but how can I add them to her cart so that she can actually complete the checkout procedurewithout calling her and getting her credit card information and creating an order myself?.

I'm no wondering of my merge to the newly created account thingy is working..

Thoughts and any help would be lovely and appreciated...

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..

Well, I'm not sure what a "merge to the newly created account" thingy is, so I'm not sure if that's what caused the problem or not. If you are not sure that it's working, then your shop shouldn't be online at all..

I'm not sure if this works anymore, but you used to be able to go into the database, and find the email address and encrypted password for that customer. Copy and paste the email address and encrypted password into the login box, and see if that lets you log in as her. Then you can jsut navigate the cart and add the products...

The thingy is "the visitors cart merges with the member cart" thingy (after they sign up) and I just tested it and it works..

I'm guessing this is a customer that doesn't normally purchase online and is just learning and finds this all too complicated for her. She just email me and says her password doesn't work anymore. Ugh!!!!!!!.

I'll go see if I can get her password to work and populate her cart for her..

My very, very, very last resort is to pick up the phone and call her...

I tried the encrypted password idea and no match, so it wouldn't let me do that..

Is there a way to add them from the database side?..

Okay, more fun..

I did a customer_basket sort by customer_id in phpmyadmin and the items are there...so, I'm going to ask her to try again..

Wish me luck...

What a day!.

Anyway, for future reference, the customer finally figured out how to get in again and had started adding items some new, some old, so I thought they were there, but no, they weren't..

Here's what I ended up doing. I made an .sql file of the original items that were in her cart (she provided this list) when it mysteriously disappeared. Uploaded the .sql file via phpmyadmin and now her basket is full of the items she said that were on the order. Any items that she'd added the second time, I just changed the amounts if the original order was greater..

I've tested everything so I do believe it's not the store's configuration at fault..

Hope this will help someone stuck with the same problem one day..

Now, if she doesn't come back and actually make the purchase...you'll be sure to hear me scream...

Sure....

I'm no wondering of my merge to the newly created account thingy is working..

I'm now wondering if my "merge to the newly created account" thingy is working properly..

I'll look into after I get this order sorted out..

Not much of a typist/proofreadingcan you tell?.

I've looked around some more and there are two pending orders from her and they both have the order #0 and were created today and for the same item and only one item and it's not on her list she gave meshe said she printed it out and just typed it in her email to me. They did not show on my orders screen in admin (I'm guessing that orders are default order according to order number.) they default to order number sort and since they didn't have an order number..

Is there a way to add these items to her shopping cart so she can checkout?..
