Anyone on the Medifast Diet right after having a baby?

Want the Latest Medifast Coupons Every Month?

Enter your email address below and we'll send you the latest coupon codes to save on Medifast every month. We'll even give a lucky person a month supply of free food.

First off, Anyone on the Medifast Diet right after having a baby? Hoping for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstenance from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

Getting the banner:.

1. Copy the following text using your favorite method:.

[IMG*]http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab74/pennosh/ToughLove.jpg[/IMG*].

2. Click on the "Edit Profile/Settings" link at the top of this page.

3. Click on the "Edit Signature" link on the left of the page.

4. Place your cursor in the "Edit Signature" area (looks like a mini version of Microsoft Word) and paste the text you copied using your favorite method.

5. Remove the two asterisks (*) from the text you just pasted.

6. Click "preview signature". You should now see the banner in the Preview area (above where you are editing)!!!.

7. Click the "Save Signature" button. If you do not, all this will have been for naught! So make SURE you save this after you are all set!.

Anyone is welcome to join, and if folks have additional ideas on how we can commit, I am happy to hear them!..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I got an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..

Well - I'll get this up and going for us early risers..

Rachael - thanks for starting us today. I hope you had great fun on your trip..

Just found out yesterday I have to go to Ft Wayne next week. Sure hope my food shipment gets here quickly. I'm out of bars and drinks and will really need them..

Coach - I really enjoyed the monorail thru the hotel. I remember when I was in my teens thinking how cool and hoping I'd get to stay there one day. Dreams do come true! Awesome on the fireworks view pic. When I lived in Orlando we always went to DW at least once a month (1980's folks - was much cheaper then) and stayed in the park from the time it opened until the closing fireworks. Disney really does fireworks well I do say..

Good morning everyone! (yawning and running for the coffee pot)..

Good morning, kids! 2 hour delay today, which is a royal pain. But it's in the 30s so things should get slushy..

Em, sorry you're having tummy trouble. Hope it's better today..

Rachel - congratulations! Who goes to Vegas and loses weight?! Nice job!.

Marilee, I met my husband online! There was no romantic intent on either side - I'd just lost my mom and was just looking to talk to people; he was home recovering from elbow surgery. It just happened....

Now let me go scope out this other thread I heard about. I'm almost feeling a little cyber-bullied here.....

Good Morning. 2-hr delay here too, so it's back to the salt mines.

Have a great one!..

Welcome home, Rachel! Glad you enjoyed your break..

1 hour delay here. Doesn't matter already at work..

No chopped tofu...

Great job, Rachel!.

Marilees, have fun on that date! I look forward to hearing about it..

Craptastic weather continues here..

More snow projected for Friday. I think that this winter is a big cosmic joke..

Anyway, off to put together my food for today. I am doing the 4&2 b/c of my activity level. I have a date with the stair mill this afternoon. Two and a half weeks until I climb 88 flights. Today is also a lifting day!.

Have a great day!..

I hate folks that have 2 hour delays. Our district is too big - they claim. So we just deal with the carppy drive. Haven't had a snow day yet this year. <sigh>.

Yes, we have officially become the talk of the boards. Feels like old times.....

Let the fun begin - but don't get banned. That kinda ruins everything..

Have a great day, folks...

Morning all!.

Hope all you with 2 hour delays have nice relaxing mornings. thankfully, after our 3 snow days for 4 inches of snow last week we should be snow free for the rest of the winter (I live on the coast of NC so snow is a rare bird here)..

I'm heading to Curves this morning and the post office. Not much else planned, need to go buy some chicken for L&G..

Have a great one and stay warm!..

I get to school and am unloading my car. The guy at the security desks says they're still debating. As I'm getting back in my car to go park it, an announcement comes over the PA, "School is Closed" and so it goes......

Goo Morning, TLers! Yesterday was a WAY CRAZY BUSY day at work and never even got to READ ONE post.

That.

Rarely.

Happens - if you don't see me, I'm usually hiding behind my monitor (I have 4 at HQ, 2 at the backup center.

) Got home, caught up, then WHAM, my 'puter spontaneously turned itself off - so no post from me - too late & tired to go post from one of the other 3 available 'puters in the house..

Had lunch with DH yesterday, rare occasion, which gave me an opportunity to explain all my 'puter woes. It's been spontaneously turning off for a few days now, but yesterday morning was the first time I got a scary screen when I rebooted (all black with words like 'FAILURE'...'CONNECTION'. Computer's are DH's hobby , he builds them, collects them, gives them to folks in the community who would otherwise not have a computer (seniors, etc.) So looks like he's going to upgrade me....it wouldn't stay on this morning, either, so I'm posting from his. Looks like I did my backup just in the nick of time on Monday <sigh of relief>..

I checked out the other thread - I swear some people just aren't happy unless they're stirring the pot! I did a LOT of surfing around this site when I was new. After a while, I settled into a group or 2 in the clubhouse and I pretty much stick with them as far as threads go. People get to know you that way. I've been here for a year now - I reached goal, did NOT follow T&M, gained ~25 lbs - all the while staying on the boards. I know what works for me...being accountable, being honest...I'm only as sick as my secrets..

So, when I was struggling and gaining, I stuck with my group - I didn't go around looking for a thread that would sugar coat it and give me 'permission' to keep going on my upward spiral. Because I stuck with folks who know me and tell it like it is, and hand out.

Tough love.

I was able to nip it in the bud...not perfectly, but I got the kind of support that told me I could get back on track and back to goal if I just did what I did in the beginning - 100% OP..

I guess I'm preaching to the choir here - this perhaps belongs on the other thread...maybe I'll post it there later. Now, I've spent too long spewing all that and can't remember much what's going on with folks...more coffee....

Rachel's.

Home & won money at the airport - YAY!!.

Freya.

Is a hot dating dynamo.

Merilees.

Needs some TL mojo for her date and the printer's.

Somebody.

Has a tummy ache - hang in there!.

Coach.

Is gonna be a big kid at Disney World. Woot-woot! That would be ME - I turn into a HUGE kid at places like that - watch out for the grey haired woman shoving the kids out of the way to get her picture with Tigger or Pooh.

Coach.

- Also loved your play on chpped tofu....I miss humus, so make the tofu variety - not the same, but bet I could OP a recipe for baba ganoosh....I'm gonna get me some eggplant - that's about the only way I like to eat it anyway..

Gotta get by azz in gear here. Hope to catch ya on the flip side - I sure missed having you around yesterday. Safe driving to everyone, but 'specially those in the icy parts. We were supposed to get that, but it missed us...just warmed up & rained. Course it'll be icy when it freezes...BE SAFE!.

No chopped tofu or babba, either!..

Morning all!.

Took a couple of immodium AD tablets before bed and tummy seems better today. Thanks for the well wishes..

No chopped tofu, off to work!..

I wonder how many calories you burn by stirring the pot? Just sayin'.....

Good morning TL group. I have been lurking and lurking and want to join your merry little band of... well... you know.. people. You all are my type.

Love the frankness and honesty..

I assume that you all have some sort of hazing process. Maybe I have to chug a can of cheez whiz or dress up like a pickle and roam the boards asking who needs a snack. Or I could start a thread asking how I can make my stuffed baked potato on plan..

I work all day; however, I don't let my peskyy work schedule get in the way of checking online multiple times during the day..

I'm off to look for an appropriate hazing tee shirt. Maybe one that says: "Ask me about my pickle", or "Cheez whiz: it's orange, it must be a vegetable"...

Booooo on that, MT_Cup..

Okay, so last night I was tired and couldn't do math (actually I had just forgotten what my most recent weight had been). I was actually.

Up.

By 0.6 lb on the scale last night, and by 0.4 this morning. Horrifying! But not really, since my GoWear Fit registered a 1600+ calorie deficit each day that we were there. Sooo I will still call the weekend a success, and hope that today's lounging around (I'm still off work for the rest of the week, and using the time to get a head start on my classes) will convince my body that it's okay to drop the poundsthere's plenty of food..

Everybody be safe out there in all that crazy weather! None of it for me, fortunately...

Cheri, welcome! You should fit right in. De will be along shortly to brief you on the initiation rituals. There will be tequila and fire...

Well she has to chug the tequila while she jumps over the fire wearing her cheez whiz t-shirt.....

Rachel.

-Your body is just mad at you for staying on plan while having a good time...UNHEARD OF......Congrats on having a great weekend..

Marilee.

-Go have your coffee and if you get a weird skeevy vibe head to the ladies room and don't come back..

MaryGrace.

-Not only do you burn calories stirring the pot, great arm toning too..

No delays for me today but they did close my campus early yesterday so that was a nice treat..

Good morning everyone else. Got go read the boards now and see what the scuttle is all about. I am always missing everything....LOL..

Ooooohhhhh tequila and fire! Then I definitely want to join too, please pick me, pick me!..

Good morning peeps!.

Rachel - I wouldn't worry too much. Travel plays havoc on your system. You stayed OP and that's the important thing. You will probably have a huge loss next week. Guzzle water and get as much rest as you can..

Cheri - Welcome. Oh, you are going to fit right in with this group of trouble makers. Still laughing over your post..

Coach - I just need to send you a big cyber SMOOCH for your post on the other thread. Love having people watch my back again..

Em - Glad you're feeling better..

MG - Obviously not that many <snark snark snark>.

CG - Off plan?? Do I need to smack you around??? I will!!!!.

Waving to Penny, MT, Yiayia, caliborne, Karen, and anyone else I may have missed...

After getting a thread deleted on my first foray into the boards, I am now terrified of pickles and sexual innuendos with a pretzel. I am in therapy now for it.....

Connor - You crack me up! Just chalk it up to having successfully passed any potential test in joining this group. It's a badge of honor to be responsible for the deletion of a thread!.

I think our Beloved Dave may be the trophy holder, but I'm catching up to him!!..

Whew, then I can be exempt from the tequila and fire hazing? I mean, I still will drink my 64 oz. of tequila per day, but maybe I can skip the ring of fire part...

LYNNE.....thats fantastic, you must be so proud of yourself, what a great accomplishment, good for you..........and thanks for the kind words..

Maddy..

Yeah, I think your participation in the De thread exempts you, since you've already been there done that! hehe..

Tequila and fire - huh? Reminds me of my college days..

Thank you all for the lovely welcome. I look forward to getting to know you all. I'm at work now and like I said, I check in often. Some might call it goofing off; I prefer to think of it as working on my multi-tasking skills..

Penny, thanks for the tip on the fried twinkie. I was eating mine fresh out of the bag. That Dr. Oz..... he's a genius. If it weren't for him and Oprah, I wouldn't know what to do.

Rachel, glad you had fun in Vegas and stayed OP. I went in November and managed to stay OP as well. It was my first time in Vegas with no alcohol inolved (I didn't know about the tequila allowance at the time)...

***resisting urge to make an inappropriate fried twinkie comment***resist...resist.....

Oh, stop and let it out Connor! This is the place for it!! No one here is going to judge you..

Em - I wonder if we need to put a disclaimer in the opening post similar to what the Rogues had that some of the content might offend the faint of heart and if easily offended DO NOT READ!..

Holy cow! I only got up an hour ago and this thread is on page 4 already..

Penny, I had the DH drive me to work last nite. We decided not to take any highways. People can be stupid on the roads..

Time to get some house work done. I will try to stay up with everyone. Have a great Day..

Oh darn it's still snowing!..

Stopping by to say hi! It's been a crazy couple of days....swamped at work, with no time to play on the boards!.

Hope everyone is doing well!..

Emily - so sorry about the food poisoning. No bueno. Hope you feel better most soonest..

Marilee - a date??!! Whoo-hoo!!! It's good you're meeting in a public place. Then just trust your instincts..

Rachel - W00tie-w00t-w00t for OP in Vegas zomg!!!.

Cheri - welcome, and thanks for the baked potato giggle. That was awesome..

Jenn - welcome to you too, and make sure the tequila doesn't burn too long - it's only OP if you keep the liquor in it!.

Maddy - Yay for your loss!!!.

Connor pushed it OVER THE LINE, FOLKS! Naughty biscuit. No MF..

As for me, good morning, and, um... I'm pretty sure I had my first off plan taste of sugar this morning. It was icy. I was wearing gloves and rooting around in the door pocket of my car for an ice scraper. I spotted a melting gummy bear in the pocket (I bought the car in April and haven't eaten a gummy bear in at least 20 years, so it predates my ownership). I grab it and toss it, before thinking about my gloves.

Well, I get a text, and want to see if it might have been the boy. At a stoplight, in a hurry, I pull off my glove with my teeth, as you do. Yup. Sweet taste in mouth..

Ladies, I've been taken off my OP pedestal by year+ old gummy bear. *weeping*..

Did you break a tooth on said gummy bear Freya?..

No, I live in Seattle! It's too humid here for anything to get hard. It was all sugar-melty on the outside, and some of that gummy nasty stuck to my gloves, all covered in cat hair and stuff. Totally awesome..

You know I'm into this boy if the idea of a potential text message makes me forget I have other people's gummy slag on the thing I'm about to put in my mouth...

OK. Now I need to go and try to remove that particular visual!!..

Phew! Thanks, Penny. I was worried I was off plan there. *wiping brow*..

LOL! I'm loving this thread and needing a laugh to pull my spirits up and my head outta.......

The sand..

I should be at the hospital right now, sitting in the waiting room as the designated worrier for one of my siblings while they have surgery. But, it is nasty, icy and I can do my designated worrying from right here, in my comfy chair/with laptop while waiting for the icy-ness to melt. I have been in contact with the hospital via phone and that will have to suffice for now. I'm giving to 'said sib' all that I have to give right at the moment. If it is not sufficient for the rest of the extended family......well, then they can become the designated worrier, driver, caregiver, dump-on-her, person..

What an attitude I have, not a good attitude and I'd ask for a slap upside the head to straighten me out-but I'm concerned at how fast you all might move (I know you guys have a lot of latent hositility since you are caloric-ally deprived and not allowed 'good' f foods fried foods! Fried is the word I meant). I would hate to have anyone trampled as you moved enmass to help knock some semblence of 'nice' back into me..

Some days I just hate my place within my family. Guess I should just be happy to have a family....... nah, that would never be convincing with this cast of characters sharing my genes..

On program, throwing guilt out the window and learning to be content to give, of myself, what I am comfortable giving to others..

Novel idea..

Hope all the TLers are having a decent day...

Beaming healing mojo to the sibling Talien! IMO, better to be concerned and safe than risk your own health. Hang in there. Glad we could provide a chuckle today. Let us know how things turn out...

Talien, I'm willing to share my gummy bear if it will make you feel better? It's in the bushes next to my driveway, but I could TOTALLY find it for you..

Glad you're OP. THRILLED that you're prioritizing your safety and sanity. Hang in there.....

Some days all we can give is all we can give........

Hi Everyone!! I was hoping to be part of this amazing group of folks who think being on plan 100% is the only way to go!!! I've already "stolen" the banner of pride if that's okay..

De, thanks for letting me know about this group!! I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and others who will be posting soon..

(Lifting a water bottle to toast each of you)..

Reminder to self - Do NOT ask Freya for comfort food!.

WOO to the Freakin HOO!!! If it isn't the Pink Princess!!!!..

Ok got up early... well early for me and I'm still 6 pages behind. I wonder if you can have replies sent to your phone via txt like fb updates? Prob not but they totally should. Now for my long reply.

Oh Freya, it's like you're pitching soft balls at me....

"I live in Seattle. It's too humid for anything to get hard here.".

Tee hee. Yes, folks, I clearly have a problem. I can't seem to stop myself...

SPEW!!! You really DO have a problem!! Please promise that you will NEVER seek help for it!!..

Yes, the Pink Princess has arrived. Now let's get this party started!! LOL!!! <j/k>.

It feels like home around here on this team. I like it!..

Welcome, Kimberly!!!.

Connor - NAUGHTY! And OMG that was a funny one. Uh, yeah. Well, SOME things manage...

Not a bad idea. How about this..

"We tend to be a bit snarky around here, but are quite serious about the plan. We are here for laughter as well as tough love. If what is on this thread offends you, please just don't read it and move on. Everyone has their place on this board and this is where we choose to be."..

May I join?.

Do I have to eat 3 bars and toot the National Anthem first?.

I'll do it, I swear...

... and if it's not your cup ot tea, don't let the doorknob hit you where the good Lord split you...

FREYA - 1. You are forgiven. 2. You nearly made me spit out my water. 3. Anything involving food and hair makes me want to SPEW!..

Done..

And I held out the last note for dramatic effect..

Thankyouverymuch...

Got me giggling already, girls.....

I like the non-disclaimer (because disclaimer aren't allowed) disclaimer for the opening credo. Succinct and to the point!.

Okay so it turns out I DID lose weight this weekend, I just had to use the old "go back to bed and weigh again later" method. Ha! I am victorious!.

A non-scale victory of the nontraditional type: My last 3 soft serves sold on eBay for $4.85 + shipping! Whoop! I just finished getting it all packaged up with a printed postage label... just gotta go drop 'em off in a big blue box and say BUH-BYE NOW!!..

ROFLMAO!!! LOVE the addition Penny!.

Em - I think that's great (a little too sugary for MY tastes) but this IS your team! <snicker>.

Meldubal - Well done! Gees what a group!.

Off to the endo. BBL..

Meldubal- I just nose sprayed COT on my work console.... must go home now. Thanks for that...

Freay-just saw the pic on your blogI am so so happy for you.......

Meldubal, you are so gifted. I pale in your light! Now go and clean yourself up...

Just FYI, did I happen to mention I'm officially a cougar? I'm 41, the mortician is 29..

Uh... oops?..

Nothing wrong with that, Freya! Mr. Pennosh is 10 years my junior. Men my age are boring and old...

I enjoy how this man will be forever known to everyone in this group as "The mortician."..

Well you didn't mention it......LOL....I hear cougar's are all the rage..

I'm sorry, but if he's going to go and have such a hilarious job, he's going to be known by that. It's totally not my fault. At all..

6.5 hours until our date - squeeeee!!!! *bounce bounce*..

I'm not quite sure what's funnier. Your posts or your avatar...

OMG......You people have it all over me....I could never come up with the **** you guys do. But it makes my day to read it anyway...

All I can say is that it was a good thing I know better than to eat and drink when I read this thread!! ROFLMAO!!!..

In case any one is interested, Dr. says my thyroid levels have jumped a full 3 points since I last had them checked in June. She's upping my dosage and I'm going to hope that this will allow my weight to play nice again. <fingers crossed>..

Fingers crossed for you, De!!! Glad they had the lab results...

I couldn't believe it Freya! I had my labs drawn at 3:30 yesterday afternoon!..

You all seem to know each other pretty well, so please allow me to introduce myself:.

I am 37 - soon to be 38. Married nearly 12 years to an amazingly patient man. I have two children: a boy, L., (see avatar, circa 2008) who will be 6 in 12 days.

And is some kind of lawn tool savant. I also have a girl, A., who is 2 1/2 and believes with her whole heart that she is Batman. See:.

I am one of those urban legends that you year about that would go all day without food and not even really realize it. That's right, I am the yeti of eating. I had no hunger pangs. Nada. Until after dinner and then there was not enough food on the planet. Basically, my metabolism is out of whack..

So, beyond losing the weight and finding my hotness again, I am hoping that Medifast will retrain my brain and my body to ask for food on regular intervals so I can keep this going once I reach goal..

I am so glad I found this forum....I am as loyal as they come, but I do have wide and ruthless sarcastic streak. It seems that I may have found my people. Free at last..

M-..

Rachel glad you got home ok and stayed OP! You won!..

Coach, one of those days where I thought we would have a 2 hour delay, but nope. At this point I should know better than to count on one. Where else can you have a job where you can be wrong 99% of the time (at least it seems that way to me) and keep your job?..

Ok....I should just read the whole thread and then comment. Coach did you stay and work or just go home. I hate when that happens...

Hi folks! I also would like to get in on the tough love. I tend to be a bit, ah, sarcastic as well and tend to say what I think if you ask. If you don't ask, I might be nice and keep quiet, but don't ask if you don't want to know- k? So here's me:.

I'm 35, Pre K teacher, have 2 rockin' boys- one is 8 and one is now 2- I need to update the pics on my page- I'll do that when I have a chance. My DH is mad that I'm starting this again, but only because it's so expensive and I didn't stick to it last time. But, I will this time- no long dramas here, I just will- period. I'm in a contest at work too, to see who loses the largest % of weight over the next 6 weeks and I NEED to win- I live to win and teaching doesn't really fill that hunger pain, so this should help! PreK is also full of foods- yummy, sweet foods- candy, cupcakes, snacks- arg! But, I tend to do well at school and then am a closet eater. No more. I'm on day 2- started back on Tuesday..

So- howdy- I blog as well so feel free to read that until I get more regular on here..

Nice to meet you all!..

Ok....once again I am LMAO. I think that's just what I'll do. Get on, read the pages and pages of posts. Laugh. All will be well with the world..

Cougars in the house. Kittys with weapons. Poo hats. Scary syringes. More morticians. I love this place.

I'm sure that will give me a laugh as well...

Yeah Fuzzy, and go yank 'em out witha pitch fork! They drive me nuts!..

Oh yeah. Well, I'm ConnorPonnor (real name Marlena). Live in Minneapolis. 34 years old with an 9 year old son and 5 year old girl. Husband who is quite supportive and very mean! (I mean, tough) about keeping me on task, which I love and need..

I'm sarcastic and if you may have noticed, have a tendency to make ANY innocent comment dirty and potentially offensive. Mainly, because it amuses me!.

Have not gone OP yet and don't plan to, but know if I do, I'll come here so ya'll can b|tch*-slap me..

I need to figure out the banner thing because I don't want to use the horribly preschool-esque and degrading and mean-spirited "Tough Love 100% Works" one. I will tweak mine a little. Maybe "A Softer Touch 1% Works"? Or "Tough Love Works Unless You Can't Take It Then Go Somewhere Else and Leave Me The Hell Alone, 100%". Too long?..
