I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..

I'm sorry I didn't mean live helper the brand I was using that as a generic term. I'm actually using.

Help Center Live.

I don't have much experience with Helper systems but this one is really good..

You could also try replacing the http to https.

The problem is the LiveHelp images most liekyl are not being called from a secure webpage thus the need to chnage the http or call the file(s) from the structure..

Ans yes youc an call this from any page..

For example in my english/index.php I call 3 images at the top of the page. So I just pointed it directly to the file..

<img src="../../../images/my_image.jpg">.

Instead of.

Ok I tried both suggestions and I'm still getting the box..

What else can I do?.

This thing is very annoying to me and I would say I'm a veteran of the net imagine people who have no idea why tey are getting this box pop up on every page they visit that is secure...

How can I make this code work for me?.

It's something Linda wrote up for displaying banners in the columns. It's supposed to Show the image at all times except when the ssl is active..

// BOF: WebMakers.com Added: Column Banner.

 if ( ($banner = tep_banner_exists('dynamic', '125x125') and $HTTPS !='on') ) {.

   require(DIR_WS_BOXES'column_banner.php');.

 }.

// EOF: WebMakers.com Added: Column Banner.

I tried this but it didn't work:.

// BOF: Sammy Added: HCL Banner.

 if ( ($banner = tep_banner_exists('dynamic', '120x130') and $HTTPS !='on') ) {.

 require(DIR_WS_BOXES'ayuda.php');.

 }.

// EOF: Sammy Added: HCL Banner.

I assume it didn't work becuase of this line.

$banner = tep_banner_exists.

What do I change it to to make it work?..

Hey cool iPage site you have? I see you have added many contributions? I am fairly new. IS the Help me live pretty easy to install, I read the install instructions and got stuck at the part about putting the database config files as localhost????.

As well, how did the other contributes work for you like the new info box etc?..

Comment #7

First how did you get to the site? Probably a search would bring up my iPage site but oh well... Anyways....

The one I used was very easy to install..

Http://www.helpcenterlive.com.

You must have a working knowledge of installing a MySQL database and some php, not much..

New info box is probably one of the easiest one to install. Affiliate, Ticket and BTS where probably the hardest I've installed. I've installed other ones that were harder but they were so hard that I did not finish installing them and decided not to use them..

On another note..

Anyone who can help me with my problem please?.

Thanks..

Comment #8

I have install Help Center Live on my webpage, but I actually don't know how to set the infobox to display the Help Live....

Maybe we could work out something Samuel..

P.S: Hablas Espaol?..

Comment #9

OK, sounds good to me..

AIM me at prosam54.

Si hablo espaol...

Comment #10

Can someone please help me with this?.

I'm gonna have to contact Linda herself...

Comment #11

Do you just need to add html or javascript to your pages like they are a regular box?..

Comment #12

Both. This is what the code looks like..

<! BEGIN Help Center Live Code, Copyright 2004 Borwell Ltd. >.

<div id="HCLInitiate" style="position:absolute; z-index:1; top: 40%; left:40%; visibility: hidden;"><a href="javascript:initiate_accept()"><img src="http://www.jehova-nisi.com/hcl/inc/skins/LcJn/images/lh/initiate.gif" border="0"></a><br><a href="javascript:initiate_decline()"><img src="http://www.jehova-nisi.com/hcl/inc/skins/LcJn/images/lh/initiate_close.gif" border="0"></a></div>.

<script language="JavaScript">.

<!.

Function SymError().

{.

 return true;.

}.

Window.onerror = SymError;.

//>.

</script>.

<script language="javascript" src="http://www.jehova-nisi.com/hcl/lh/live.php"></script>.

<! END Help Center Live Code, Copyright 2004 Borwell Ltd. >.

I tried adding the "s" to the http but that did not help either...

Comment #13

I have done this before. For instance, I have a box that utilizes both html and javascript called "My Favorite Items" that only displays when the user is logged in. This has a link that displays a popup box with all of the customers previously ordered items that they can add to their cart..

I am going to add the Help Center Live program that you use to my site. I will send you the code that you need to add. I am planning to display the box to all users..

If you don't see it in a couple of days, email me and remind me..

I have a modified column_right.php file, but I think you will get the picture.

BACKUP YOUR FILE FIRST!.

Use at your own risk.

You can place the HCL image (or link) just about anywhere, but I put it in the column_right.php like this.

Thanks for you help, but I'm not sure if this helps me..

I'm trying to get rid of that pesky security pop-up..

I don't think this will help. What is causing this is that the image is being pulled from an unsecure part of the site. I had this problem before with the header images and to resolve it I just added the "s" in front of http but it's not working with this...

Comment #16

I know this doesn't help you but I wanted to thank you for bringing great tool to my attention! I just installed it on my iPage site and it works like a charm. Very feature rich and it's free. I think I'm going to give these folks at helpcenterlive.com a donation..

LOL. Your Welcome. Anything I can do to help the osC community...

Comment #18

Maybe I can help you with this. I set it up and it works fine with my secure pages..

Where did you put the livehelp code? Directly in column_left or column_right?.

What I did was create a new "information box" and put the code in the /boxes/livehelp.php page I created..

Let me know if that doesn't make sense..

For example. this is what is contained in my includes/boxes/livehelp.php page I created:.

<?php.

/*.

 $Id: livehelp.php $.

*/.

?>.

<! information //>.

<?php.

 $boxHeading = BOX_HEADING_LIVEHELP;.

 $corner_left = 'square';.

 $corner_right = 'square';.

 $boxContent = '.

 .

 <center>.

</center>.

 .

 ';.

 require(DIR_WS_TEMPLATESTEMPLATENAME_BOX);.

?>.

<! information_eof //>.

I forgot to add that you also need to add "https" in the config.php file of livehelp..

Hope this helps...

Comment #20

That was it. That did it. OMG!!! Thanks. But now WinApp, the software addon you can use to log in to the control panel without going to the site, doen't want to work because the https. Damn! If it isn't one thing it's another. See it in action here.

Hi,.

Did anybody of you manage to pass on a variable to hcl (Help Center Live) to start the chat window in a specific language?.

First of all, from within osCommerce it is easy to detect the language (in case you run a multi language setup): You just read $_SESSION['languages_id']. Depending on this you have to assign $LANG_setting within HCL. This is the tricky part. I did not (yet) manage to pass this variable via $_GET. What I usually use to start Live Help is this:.

<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://'$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']'/hcl/lh/live.php?language='$_SESSION['languages_id']'"></script>.

I tried then first in /hcl/inc/config.php to use a switch($_GET['language']) to assign the correct language to $LANG_setting. No way, the variable is not set (tested via isset() )..

Ok. Then I thought I could do this test within /hcl/lh/live.php. I do not know why, but the variable is not set there either. My knowledge of javascript is..well, let's say I know how 'Javascript' is spelled but that's about it. I am quite familar with PHP but I have no clue why $_GET['language'] is not available within live.php..

If this worked i'd use (probably in /hcl/lh/live.php):.

   include_once("../inc/config.php");.

   include_once("../inc/database.php");.

If(isset($_GET["language"])) {.

 switch($_GET["language"]) {.

 default:.

   $LANG_setting = "english";.

   break;.

 case '2':.

   $LANG_setting = "german";.

   break;.

 case '4':.

   $LANG_setting = "dutch";.

   break;.

 }.

} else {.

$LANG_setting = "german";.

}.

   include_once("../lang/".$LANG_setting.".php");.

And I had exactly the same language in the Live Help Pop Up window for my customers that they are using in osCommerce..

Does anybody of you have a hint?.

Thanks in advance and best regards,.

Marcus..

Comment #22

Done. I found a solution to use the same language in HCL that a customer uses in osCommerce (in a multi language setup). The author of HCL is looking into the changes and how it effects the rest of his code. I will keep you updated..

Comment #24

You will need to remove absolute URLs and instead point them to the proper file locations..

I.E..

Http://YourDomain/Tr...s/Something.htm.

Would be coded as:.

/TryThis/Something.html.

BTW, I find CraftySyntax to be leaps and bounds better for Live Support.
