Good question... I dunno what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..
They have name servers with yahoo, thus I would see if you could forward that email to (you may have to look that one up) and put in there, that there are hacks coming from a iPage domain which uses their name servers...
I am on powweb and use ws_ftp to upload my file. Will I be able to do what you are saying with ws_ftp?..
It is possible. if you want me to check for you, let me know in a pm..
I had a smiliar problem with www.ijoo.net (the hacker's site). I made a call to Yahoo (since I have contacts there from where I work), and they shut down the iPage site within hours. I'd suggest doing the same thing. Most major iPage hosting companies (mine included) have something in their TOS about hackers..
Forward the email and their IPs (if you have them tracked) to , I'd also recommend contacting their ISP, if you can narrow it down. A lot of ISPs will shut off their internet access. We do this alot at work also. :-).
Hope that helps. Sucks about your site, hopefully they didn't damage anything...
You should contact your host about it as they may have hacked your whole server and can come back anytime...
I'm on PowWeb too - I doubt the server got hacked. I'm not aware of an instance in which their servers themselves have been hacked - they're quite on top of things..
All the iPage site hacking there has been done through insecure scripts (PHPNuke, forums, etc.) and sloppy security of the iPage site owner. You should:.
1) Change your Member Operations password and all FTP passwords to something long and with a mixture of letters and numbers..
2) Make sure your admin area is password-protected.
3) Re-upload all files from your local copy and delete any files on the server you didn't create...
What can I do about this: (I removed the passwords, but he had them).
From: Dam Nguyen [mailto:');.
Define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', 'cdpdb'); define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', '******');..
You need to search for some hidden scripts on the server, if you have shell access then should not be hard to find..
You need to check your admin area for hidden files, scripts, which are not from oscommerce...
