I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..
I have a module I have been working on but I am having some dificulties with the admin specifically in how to do multiple addosiations. Currently, I can, in the add product section, add a field to crosslink the products or to directly add items in the database but this is not really good when you need to be able to have lots of items crosslinked or for people who do not want to directly mess with the db.
If I can get the admin bug free I will post it..
I also have an addition which I have been working on, as I know the developers are quite busy implementing changes to the checkout logic..
I currently have the ability to add the thumbnail and title of the the product listed under "related products". Defining the administrative has been giving me a bit of a headache especially when trying to employ bi-directional upsell links..
I think this is a very important feature. I'd appreciate any feedback from others working on a similar addition..
Would you like large fries with that or a Large Coke?.
Or order 2 pizzas and get a free 3 pack on condoms or a 6 pack of beer...
Now that is an offer I would like to see pizza hut carry … I imagine their sales would be boosted dramatically ….
Nice to see a bit of aussie humour catching on in here..
I just installed this software on our site, it is nice. This thread on upsells is somewhat old. Is there any new news on upsells?..
Simple solution is to move the "also bought" logic to the cart page, which is the first step in the checkout process. There is also a Family Products mod that allows the admin to associate products into, er, families...
I tried the link that was supplied earlier I got a page not found. What is the name of this contribution?..
Thanks for the information, I'll look into the "also bought" options...
Could we have the ability to add upsell products that would stay with the customer as they checkout?.
The "also bought" section is ok but not an advantage to get the buyer to buy other products before checking out..
Lot of people have been asking me about this so hope it will be incorporated into osc!..
I agree that this could be better. I presently use the pop-up menu of additions (make product deluxe version etc) but we really need a list of one or two products that can be added to the purchase on check-out...
