That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I got an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..
Ok, This is the configure.php file which is created by plesk. I have removed the db info to protect our client. The url to the iPage site is www.mptees.com, it is currently just using the demo oscommerce iPage site that is installed by default..
// Please, note that all changes in this file will be lost.
// after reconfiguring application by Plesk.
// define our database connection DB Info removed for our protection.

I'd try storing sessions in MySQL.
Hope it works. Stick with it, you won't find a better eCommerce Solution , btw....
Nope, still didn't work. Items aren't being added to the cart itself. Very annoying..
I did check and the session is being stored in mysql now though. If items can't be added then whats the point of oscommerce? :-).
Found out why it was not working..
I didn't know this but oscommerce requires register_globals to be on, Plesk does not turn register_globals on in the /etc/php.ini file and it apparently doesn't set a .htaccess value or vhost.conf value to turn register_globals on for the iPage domain which is running oscommerce..
At least I found out what the problem was..
I have also posted this on the oscommerce distributor's(plesk) forums, but I thought I'd give it a shot here to..
We have installed a stock, out of the box install of oscommerce 2.2 milestone 2..
The default demo sites comes up fine but we are experiencing two very wierd issues when just trying basic actions..
1. When we click on 'add to cart' or buy now, the item never gets added to the shopping cart.
2. In the administration interface/ filemanager, when you click on a folder, it never opens and the files in that folder are never displayed..
Anyone know what's going on?.
Is there a debug mode I can stick oscommerce in?.
It could be the way your configure.php files are. post your configure.php file here without the database, username, password..
Also a link to the iPage site if possible...
