Building a company website on iPage.com?

My first question is Building a company website on iPage.com? Looking forward for any comment. Second question of mine... I am sure there is a contribution for this but for the life of me I can't find it, maybe I don't know what to look for..

I sell parts on my website, but I also now want to offer service work. The question I have is, is there a way or contribution that will allow me to offer products at a cost but also include a text box or a number of text boxes of details as to what type of equipment it is, what's wrong with it, and any special instructions. Plus not charge shipping on it?.

Just looking for some suggestions...

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I got an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..

Oops, I guess you don't want to give instuctions you want to get them. You can set up the special attributes. That might help with some of it. Also have them give special instuctions in the comments area at checkout...

That's exactly what I want to do..

Could you post an example of the code you use for that?.

I know it's probably fairly simple but one can never have too many code snippets to look at...

Basically I want to be able to offer things such as timing on the machinary I sell. Or disassembly and reasembly. But I need the customer to input things like the following:.

Type of Equipment.

Problem with it.

Any personal modifications made that should be known about.

Special mailing directions.

New Color to anno to (A attribute can handle this).

Also I cant really charge shipping as they are mailing it to me and then return shipping is supposed to be free...

Do you have a url we could look at to get a better idea of what you are trying to sell. What do you mean by "timing on the machinery"? Why couldn't disassembly and reassembly be an attribute? (Disassembly and Reassembly +$5.00).

You are going to have to be specific about "type of equipment" when you set up the catalog, categories and products in the shopping cart. I don't see how you could let the user define that..

"Problem with it", "any personal modifications made that should be known about" and "Special mailing directions" seems like would have to go in the comments at checkout. You could modify the text on the comments box to give those specific directions..

Free shipping shouldn't be a problem..

I'm not sure if I understand what you want, but you can put html in the product description when you enter it, so you can put links in to pop up pages, like the links for features and elements on.

Another thing you could do is offer the special instructions as a download, and put them in PDF format or something like that...
