Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstenance from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

Morning all! Got all caught up from yesterday and this morning but no time to dawdle in here. Gotta make the long commute to Novi/HQ this morning and get there EARLY so as to leave EARLY. My class from last week was rescheduled for today so have to be halfway home before 6.

Thank goodness all you NEasteners are hogging all the snow!.

Not sure how much snow we got - haven't ventured out yet. DH just called and said the roads are sh*tty. These are the days I really hate having a one hour commute to work..

I checked in yesterday but things moved so fast and I am still kind of figuring out who everyone is so I gave up on posting! So please forgive me if I selectively respond for a few days until I get used to the pace!..

Stay safe as you shovel TLers. I used to shovel sometimes 3Xs a day when I lived in a snow belt area. I was much younger and it was satisfying, even when I couldn't see I'd accomplished anything at all when I was finished. I guess the endorphins and just being outside account for happiness sometimes..

I had to peek at my weight this AM, simply could not wait until Monday AM (full week post allergies). My BMI is 23.8. I am having trouble comprehending this. My arms are still covered in blech from the rash, but I keep losing weight 100% OP. I can't remember my new weight, I am stunned that I can actually take an action that has such a positive effect on my life..

Thank you all for staying strong. Thank you all for sending the positive message that 100% does work. I followed you here and here I will stay. I do enjoy most of the blogs. Thank you all for continuing to blog and comment. The hand held out when you are really struggling makes a huge difference..

Mentally, I can't keep track of everyone here..

Morning TL'ers!.

Official weigh-in today and I am down 6.5 pounds or the week!! Just AWESOME!! This marks the end of my fourth week and a total of 23.7. VERY happy with that..

Thanks for the ironclad commitment to 100% and the laughs and wisdom that make it an easy decision every day.You guys are the best!.

Just got dumped on again! About a foot of snow. Again. We have had FORTY inches of snow in January alone. I think we might have gotten about twenty inches (maybe more) in December. No January thaw this year so we are running out of places to put the snow. Particularly since I live and work in relatively urban areas..

Shoveling round one is done. I think this will be a three round day...

CG, you are going to need that hot stone massage after this snow. At least it hasn't been as bad as the 48 inches we got in about 3 days last February. Yikes, I better knock on wood..

Morning. Haven't read the whole thread yet and am not going to try and catch up on what I may have missed last night. Had a wonderful time last night. The men seemed to hit it off, which seems to be par for the course with the guys. We went to a cute little place in the historic/art district of Scottsdale. It was a gorgeous night so we sat out on the patio which was warmed by heaters and lit by white Xmas lights eating our healthy chicken salads! Good convo, good friends, fabulous atmosphere, what more could you ask for?.

Working from home today and tomorrow. There's just nothing that needs to be done that I can't do from here...

Sorry to hear about all the snow some of you are getting. It can get old. Just like the rain gets old here. Be careful with the shoveling. I had to do that all the time when I lived at Lake Tahoe. Lots of exercise.

Best investment we ever made. Now I get the rain, the mud slides and giant boulders coming down on the road..

Congrats to the losers. Glad to hear you had a good anniversary and great company. I miss the warmth of being able to eat outside. We'll see that again up here but probably not for a while..

I've got a busy day ahead. Work will be crazy as usual. Making plans for my sister to move back to the states in March after being gone for 2+ years. Today's goal is to buy a car for them. She's got the test drive all set up for me. Hopefully all goes well and we make the sale.

I hope to be able to check back in before the thread gets too long and I get lost in it...

Good morning everyone!! Hey, you ladies that are shoveling - imagine how many inches of body you are getting rid of!!! My DH uses the snow blower, so no exercise for me. Well, from the snow at least....

I snuck on to the scale today too. Can I just say that a few more days, and I will be out of the 160s for good!!! Woo Freakin Hoo!! If this is your second time losing some weight, is it going faster or slower for you? For me, it is steady so far. I'm thrilled! Last time, I was grateful for 1-1.5 a week..

OK, caught up on this thread so far,now back to work. Had a 2 hour delay today..

I haz a sad!.

My scale is crapping out on me, and giving different numbers. I'm afraid that last week's weigh in might be an "error". If it were consistent, I'd just use it as a guide and record the downward trend, but it's giving different numbers when I step off and on, and even depending on where I put my feet!! I have a different scale that is newer, and I hope not glitchy, but it weighs heavier. I think on Sunday (official weigh-in day) I will have to use the newer scale and just bite the bullet. Boo Hoo!!.

Of course, it's a cryatal clear morning, 35 degrees as Mia said, and some idiot spins out of control and ends up in the median sideways in the snow, a pickup truck and a tractor trailer all involved and blocked the highway (MY route to work) for 20 minutes this morning! Okay all, total accountability here. Yesterday I discovered that I still had half a jar of PB2 in my drawer at work. Sometimes PB2 can be a good thing. But not for me. Peanut butter, whether it's 1 or 2 is a trigger for me. Once I saw the jar, I couldn't get it out of my head.

But between yesterday and this morning, the jar is empty. Sumbuddy smack me. The bad news is that I gave in to a trigger. The good news is that it's gone and I have to order it online if I want it, so it's REALLY gone. How will I deal with something like this in the futire? Well, I won't have any PB or any other version of peanut butter in close proximity.

And I'll keep in mind that I thought I was stronger and realizing my weakness sucks. Last night I manipulated my calories and didn't have a L&G (ate a Medifast meal) and was able to keep my calories, carbs, and protein in a decent, acceptable range. Bad, I know, but I was trying to rectify the situation and I think it was the first time I'd ever skipped having my L&G. Ever. This morning's mid-morning meal was a vanilla shake with the rest of the jar added, probably half a cup dry.

Not sure how I'm going to fix that. I'm not going to skip my L&G tonight. I'm drinking lots of plain ice water though. </confession>..

Here too. I'm "working from home" the next 2 days. This morning I have actual work that needs to get done, but the rest of the stuff can be done whenever I want tna dthey will never know the difference as long as it gets done, so I see some sky chair time in my future tomorrow!..

Penny, PB is my trigger and downfall too. I simply cannot have it anywhere around me. Since I live in my bed 24/7 I'm my own environmental engineer. But "it" did cause me to lose my mind sometime last Fall. I can't stop thinking about it either..

Yeah, well. I work 10 hours a day usually and if I'm not 100% project billable, I only get paid for 8, so a little me time during the slow period before the invoicing cycles starts again next week is not a cause for guilt in any way. They know how to reach me and I check my email regularly so they have no complaints...

I sympathize! The only trigger fod in my house is PB. I keep it here for an emergency snack but yesterday, I had 4 "emergency" snacks. Now I know I can't keep it in the house.

I will miss you PB, but you just cant be trusted in my house!!!.

OK, Penny, consider yourself smacked..

There's no "fixing" a slip like that, but this could be the most valuable lesson you've learned from Medifast to date. Just continue on with your day, your Medifast meals and your water. You know this!.

In the past (before last summer) I've slipped like this with cheese. At first I measured it and counted it in my lean. Then I got a little sloppy with the measurements. Then I started having it as a little snack...you get the picture. Now, I have a rule,.

No cheese other than measured Parmesan when appropriate..

I like rules because I'm very analytical and love to "do it right". This way, I don't ever have to deal with that trigger..

100% means not making the same mistake twice!!.

You deserve me time De. You work hard.........when you work. (ducking smack).

My rationale for not working 100% of the time is that I'm unofficially on call all the time. It's MY phone that rings at 5:00 am if we are closing or delaying. It's MY little ***** that gets out of bed to post it to all the outlets we use. If any alarms go off at any time, it's my cell phone they call. I'm the only one that does payroll here, so it's my butt that marches in to the office regardless of whether I'm off, sick, whatever, to do payroll. So I don't feel guilty at all either..

I do need to get me a sky chair though!!..

I try not to get on any boards too much as I can lose too much time and the wife expects a lot of honey do's done while off. Pennyyou've had enough smacks, I think. Isn't it a little bit relieving now to know that it's all gone, and you can't go off the deep end with it again? Or does one of us need to hack into your computer and block the website....

My husband could probably do it!.

I indulged myself for two days in the "melted LF cheese over sauteed bell peppers" L&G of horror, and that was fun but definitely not a regular occurrence (too much work anyway, for my taste). Today I had the leftover peppers over baked salmon. And I'll be having baked salmon for the next three days, apparentlyI only baked 3 fillets, but those babies are biiiiig and our serving of salmon isn't!..

The sanity break was a really good thing. It didn't stop us from continuing to weave the relationship, but it was at a slower pace, with pauses for thought in between steps forward. And sleep. And I could think straight enough to do some work, school, reading, etc. On our bender, I pretty much could barely put on my pants..

We only get to spend tonight and tomorrow night together this weekend. So I have Sat and Sun to get work done some more, which is really cool because I have big law review stuff I need to get done. Yay for sanity breaks!..

I'm a bit late to the 'Smackfest', but wanted you to know that you are not alone with the PNut butter trigger..

I hear more of this than other triggers, even chocolate or breads..

Why? Wonder what it is about the creamy little mashed up protein rocks that makes it so hard to just use in moderation?.

Can't be the protein, cause that curbs appetite..

May be the texture, or the fat? I dunno. Now if I use Real PNut butter, not the jiff or skippy stuff, I find I'm ok. Hmmmmmmm maybe.

It is the sugars or some other filler used in those other products. I mean I can eat a hand ful of any nuts and be fine..

Well, unless we figure it out, we just have to avoid them permanently, I suppose..

Knowing that I will never be ok to live like others is Hard, but being fat is harder, huh?.

Thanks for all the smacks, TLers. I'm beaten and bruised, and I'm a better, stronger person for it. I'm not exactly sure what about PB2 draws me in. Most of the fat is removed, so it's not that. I'm good on protein with all I get from MF, so it's not that. Any kind of nuts are gonna hafta be off limits for this chica.

I'm not even a fan of peanuts. But when you salt them and sweeten them, or even just press the oil out and give me the powder that's left - it's just trouble..

Also, I haven't lost anything in 6 whole days I must be plateaued and this diet doesn't work anymore this close to goal I think I'm switching to WW right now because this would be a lot better if I could have some of that red velvet cake that Costco is advertising and someone was cooking bacon near work this morning and I just stood in the alley smelling it and I think I could have points for bacon and that would work out just fine. Because it's just the last 5 pounds, and clearly Medifast doesn't work anyway...

I dunno if I think not having your l&g was a good call. I'm not sure that trying to make up for a cheat makes sense - I mean, so you don't eat the right stuff because you ate the wrong stuff just to make the numbers right?.

It's a hard call. I think I'd argue that depriving your body of nutrition because you gave in to a temptation may not be the healthiest way to think about it. While keeping the numbers right might get you through the week still hitting your goal, that's not really the point, is it?.

I know what you mean about PB. I can't keep Nutella in the house at all. Period. Not hidden. Not in the smallest containers. I can't eat one bite of the stuff without going on a binge.

Just had to stop by and say Hi. Having a bit of a time right now. They're having Birthday goodies for one of the guys I works with. I'm really not tempted to eat any of it as much as now I crave it. Does that make any sense? I'm not hungry, I don't want to eat it, I won't eat it but I'll be thinking about it sitting over there all day..

Freya, my dear. I stalled at 1.2 lbs from my goal for WEEKS!!!! I stressed over it. Obsessed over it. Damn near drove me out of my mind. Finally, after talking to the team, we decided that if the next weigh in showed no results, then it was probably time to transition. I agreed, began preparing myself for that conclusion and stopped stressing and obsessing.



I think we mentally sabotage ourselves when we get so close to the finish line. It's there, within reach, yet just seems so far from our grasp. So, I'm going to tell you to stop it now. Relax, enjoy Morty and the wonderful life as a skinny girl that you have in front of you. Embrace you amazing success and stop worrying about those last 5. Continue doing the program, guzzle as much water as you can, and find something else to focus on...

Theo, definitely a love/hate thing here, too. PB is a major DB..

Steph, that jar was in my bottom drawer where I saw the TOP of it many times, but it didn't register in my head that it was PB2 until I moved it aside yesterday, to get my Medifast shaker cup, since I was already using my coffee cup, and realized that, not only was it PB2, but it was half full. I had it in there from probably November when I used it last. I seldom go into that drawer. Now, had I gone in that drawer on a day when I didn't have so much excitement, I may have just said, "Hmmm - I won't be needing this anymore" and may have tossed it in the trash as I did with a couple other items I won't mention here. I agree NOT having my L&G wasn't the smartest thing I've done in recent memory, which is why today I got myself right back on track with lunch, even though I wasn't terribly hungry. Chocolate mint soft serve right now, right on schedule.

Getting back on track with my very next meal is how I fixed it. Remembering how bad it feels to have disappointed myself will surely help me the next time temptation rears it's ugly head...

Hi all,.

Congrats to the losers and the cruisers. Slept all day yesterday... ok most of it. Now I can't sleep anymore. Feels great t have the option to sleep though since I didn't get any for like 5 days. I've never had a sore tooth in my life and now I know why people hate them.

I've had 9 surgeries including 2 brain surgeries and I'm more scared of the teeth thing. There is a person who shall remain nameless on the boards who is driving me batty. This person posts things like I hate vegetables. My first thought is aren't you a vegetarian? Is it even possible to be a vegetarian and hate vegetables? Also when said person posted about a cheat involving veg lasanga*sp* it was loaded with breaded eggplant. Last time I checked eggplant is a vegetable.

Maybe I'll go knock myself out again. Oh and I'm gonna have to pay like $200 for the dentist so I might be a little p*ssy. On a happy note De what is a sky chair? Mt what type of bellydancing do you do. I do american tribal and gothic..

I used to to have a sky chair... until I moved to places that had no where to hang it (it's a hanging hammock type chair with a separate hanging foot rest)...

It's L&G time! Tonight is chicken salad. A bed of fresh spinach with 1/2 cup broccoli slaw and 1/2 cup grape tomatoes then on top is 5 oz grilled chicken breast drizzled with Newman's light lime dressing...
