Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstinence from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

8. Be honest with ourselves and our Medifast family and to stay 100% OP at all times. We also swear that WHEN (not if) we are having a tough time and feel like we may eat SLUDGE, to come to our Medifast family first and ask for support and help to get us through the struggle..

The answer is Yes, but... you might wanna make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm this as I am not confident. Better yet, why don't you call the Medifast guys because they can answer your Medifast question better...

Good morning everyone! I managed to get stuck at work for an extra shift. It's ok though because I planned ahead and brought extra meals and we have a 24 hour place where I can always get a grilled chicken salad..

Have a great OP day,.

Hi guys - I've been lurking some and feel I'm ready to take the tough love plunge. I knew it when I thought about you guys the other night when I felt the urge to go off plan and thought if I was in tough love, I would have to go there first and it stopped me! So here's to it!!.

Morning!! Thanks for starting us off.

It's awesome that you planned ahead!.

I think I missed welcoming a few new people yesterday too, sorry!.

It's a great morning I lost a lb overnight so and in fact reweighed about 8 times to be sure my scale wasn't broken. It was one of the few times I've stood there in awe, I've lost that much overnight before but today it was surreal..

One of my boys if off school so he and a friend are splitting the day half at his house and half at my house. I'm going to do disk 3 of P90X and get some sleep I woke up at 330 to use the restroom and smelled smoke. Turns out I should have watched the news yesterday b/c about 30 miles away on base there was a wild fire. Sounds like it's out now but I have a lot of friends that live close to there. And the wind brought us all the smoke..

At any rate hope you all have a great day!..

Anna - I've been reading about you doing P90X and I'm totally inspired. You and I are about the same weight (Congats on the 1lb!!! And for being out of obese!!! I still have a ways to get there!) but I really don't think I could do those dvd's yet when I've read how Aston Kutcher says how hard they are!! You go girl!.

And hello slw and Megan!! What an impressive group!!..

Good morning everyone and happy Friday!.

Welcome Karen! You're welcome to follow the bouncing ball with us - if you've been lurking, you know the drill - off-plan foods are not named but called SLUDGE instead, no slips allowed, either. You come here first and let us try to talk you down. We're a fun group, but we're strictly business at heart. As for the sparkles....

I haven't tried the SB Tribute blend - I know time is running out. There was free SB last night at my little girl's school function. Had we known earlier, we'd have hung out around the coffee booth. The word on the street is that a young boy won the earrings I donated and gave them to him mom who loved them! There were lots of people there and time went by fast. My little one took an interest at the Girl Scouts booth. I will NOT be a c**kie mom..

I'm roasting a turkey for dinner tonight. I had one in the freezer and I took it out on Monday. It's finally thawed, so it looks like turkey tonight. I butterfly it and it cooks in about 90 minutes. An 11-pound bird in 90 minutes. Gotta love that..

Here's to our OP Friday!..

Can I come to dinner at your house?.

Sounds like you had fun last night!.

I did P90X at 235 lbs with my dh. I modify anything I need to. I don't/couldn't get through the whole things (especially cardio, I'm better at the strength days) but I only like this kind of high intensity work out, I don't like normal exercise. It's dripping sweat hard even for my dh who is an athlete and has to stay in shape for the Marine Corps. You can do it! They show you how to modify modify modify..

Morning girlies!.

Wow Anna- thats awesome 1lb in a DAY!!.

Thanks Susan...Tribute blend hmmmm sounds delish!.

Penny- although I will buy jewelry from you I WILL NOT buy GS sludge! I somehow missed it this year thank goodness!!!.

Welcome Karen- I did p90x last summer- Anna is right you do what YOU can- I did it with a friend so it was more fun- just something to remember losing weight is 85% WHAT YOU EAT!!! I gained weight doing P90X- mainly because I did not change my eating (at all) I used p90 as an excuse to eat what I wanted....BAD. I am actually looking forward to doing it again this spring! I am letting Anna inspire me now..hehe.

Morning Ella- wait you are not here yet- but when when you are I hope you read my post that I really think you didi the right thing with the jerk thing last nigh and your post was VERY well said!..

Well hello and good morning to all the TLers!.

That sounds like an awesome dinner! But not being a cook, I don't know what butterfly means, but I DO know a 90-minute turkey is amazing. Welcome to a great group,.

Stay away from the fire!.

I have missed all you losers!! But the weather has been so darn beautiful here that the minute I can get away from work and the computer I am outside enjoying it! Took my bicycle out for a spin for the first time since losing 1/2 a person and it was wonderful to glide along in the sunshine feeling fit!.

Transition is going GREAT with no weight gain and no problems, I'm happy to report. Keep fighting the good fight, TLers, it is so worth it!.

Here's to a 100% OP weekend for all of us!..

Nice to see you around again.

I hope I do inspire you to start back up...

Hi DW'ers!.

Yeppers, Penny, I wanna come to dinner too! YUMMY turkey (followed by a nap!). LOL.

Anna - in all the time I've heard about P90X I have never once heard that they really emphasize modifying to fit your needs. Thank you so much for saying that! I might consider it after I reach Onederland and "overweight" like you have..

Karen - Glad you've come out of the shadows. This group and 100% Works! Love your pictures. Congrats on your progress. Hard to do without a strong group support (I think)..

Megan - good work on planning ahead! Isn't it motivating when you manage to navigate the unexpected, and you do it well?.

Slw - thanks for getting us started this morning!.

Hey on Elizabeth Taylor, I remember a lot of people saying they have never seen an ET movie. PLEASE check out Cleopatra, Giant, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Taming of the Shrew. She was awesome in each! And each is a classic. You really shouldn't go through life without having seen these..

So I was down another -.9 this morning. Loving it! I also got in my shipment of Torani sugar-free syrups. I already had hazelnut, and I just got Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Gingerbread, Coconut, and Pumpkin Pie. Figured it would help bring a little different flair to some of the shakes, but actually tried the BSC in the pancake mix today and WOW - french toast for sure. I figure after 12 weeks a little flavor variation might be a good thing from time to time. But I don't want to get dependent on them..

Okay Ladies, have an amazing OP Friday! Friday! Friday!..

Happy Friday Tough Love-ers!.

I am enjoying my coffee this morning! Wow so that p90x is floating around here to. (not me. Not yet anyways!) A few guys I work with have been doing it (and discussing how hard it is etc.) So you go get on with your bad selves, ladies!.

I am on day five...(is my newbie-ness showing?.

) I have already had my a.m. pancake and am getting ready to shoot out the door to work! But wanted to drop in and say Hello! Happy Friday!..

Excellent choices on the ET movies, tkd. I just want to add Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf and Butterfield 8! RIP Liz. Such an American treasure! Turner Classic Movies has a huge marathon of ET movies coming up soon, btw, for those looking for them...

Whoops, I broke the sludge rule yesterday by referring to some off plan foods by name. I am so sorry. What a brain fart. It won't happen again..

Good morning, everyone!!..

I've never done P90X, but I do CrossFit and that is very tough. Many military people swear by it. I started CrossFit last September/October and I was about 260. You should try P90X if you really want to. As others said, you can modify if needed...

Good morning you wonderful Tough Lovers!!!!! This morning's edition is brought to you by Sunshine, courtesy of New York!!!! I'm awake now! :-).

Slw - Thank you so much for the SB - just love it! And I'm sorry I did not reply to your message the other day - I, very sadly, stopped riding around 25 because I couldn't afford it anymore and I didn't have any real support in my life - so I had no clue what to do. Looking back I see what I should have done, but I didn't know it then and that's the way it goes. I am delighted that you took to it to the pro level - I bet working in the U.K. was amazing! I swear, I'll do it right in my next life time!!!! :-).

Megan, you should see one of my drawers at work: measuring cups, spoons, MB, and at least 2 months worth of Medifast food. It's a little scary!.

Karen - welcome aboard!!!!.

Anna - you are so funny - when I see I loss I quick jump off and run away as fast as I can - I'm so scared that if I get on it again I'll see a three pound gain!!!! LOL!.

Penny - Good morning! Please teach the group how you make your turkey, we are all DYING to know how we can do this!!!!!!!! (and some of us are salivating at the idea!!!!) :-).

And I agree - NO GIRL SCOUT SLUDGE MOM for you!.

Good morning Bobbie!.

Nannette - I love hearing that you are doing well on maintenance. As much as I love success stories in weight loss, what REALLY impresses me are those that maintain. When I get down to goal, I will be a magnet to those that have done maintenance long term - for I have NEVER done that in my life time - and I'm 55! It's time..

Mornin' Tk! Tk, what's BSC in your pancakes??? I missed something, sorry!!!.

Keri - Welcome aboard!!!!.

Hi Carolyn - OMG - oatmeal pancakes are the BEST. So amazing - I think almost all of my Medifast food is amazing and it just gets better!!!! Thank you SO much for sharing that idea! Breakfast was divine!.

So far today I have gotten the car washed, bought WW food for my dd and made breakfast. I may have it again for my next meal it was SO good! I'm a lune!.

Good morning to all that follow, I'm around today, so I'll be back..

Good morning!.

I watched ET on the Biography channel last night, they showed some clips of some of her movies that I had never watched. I'll keep an eye out for those movies on TMC..

Thanks for the coffee, SLW. It feels like it may be a long day, going to need a bit of an extra boost..

The scale finally dropped down below the 170s, for me. I won't change my ticker until my next weigh in day, but was glad to see a 6 instead of 7 on that darn piece of metal!.

Hope it is a great Friday for all..

Oh! Penny, have you considered branching out, in your jewelry making, to stitch markers for knitting? A couple of friends were chatting about searching around on etsy looking for jeweled stitch markers and I thought of you..

No chopped tofu, but waving to all........(welcome to those who recently joined us)...

Morning all! TGIF indeed! I've had such a crazy week, I'm looking forward to a break this weekend..

Welcome Karen!..

So I see Talien's avatar and I immediately have to go get more coffee! I'm scooting!..

Gorning MT and Talien!!!!!.

Tk, never mind I figured it out - I told you I was awake - well sort of awake! Cinnamon Brown Sugar Cinnamon - BSC, got it..

I am going to look into these flavors, they sound delicious!!!!.

Good Morning TLers! (Robin Williams, again).

I've been feeling so thankful for Liz's whole life. Being able to give so much back is a real blessing to us all. She really stood by her friends. She had a real witch's cackle laugh, too, which was so unexpected and great..

Thanks for stating us out today, slw. I love SB..

Tofu to you all! Mind simply not processing a thing..

Need bkft. Chair Latte: I pkt+ 2c. TJ's Roibos Chai + 2 c. H20. Whisk thoughly. microwave, and sip throough straw till eyeballs float..

Enjoy your days fully..

Talien, thanks for the tip! I will do a little research this weekend on stitch markers. I remember trying to make brooch-type pins out of my mom's when I was little!.

Okay, kids, here is how I do my turkey. I found this recipe in Prevention magazine a couple Thanksgivings ago. Although it's not the Oooooh and Aaaaah looking turkey when you bring it to the table (looks more like roadkill), the speed and tenderness sold me and I don't think I'll ever make the traditional turkey again! Be sure to claim the breast meat as your own and remove the skin!.

Pennys Butterflied Turkey.

One 8- to 12-pound turkey, fresh or thawed completely, giblets removed and discarded.

10 or more garlic cloves, lightly crushed.

Several sprigs fresh tarragon or thyme or several pinches dried.

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil.

Salt and freshly ground black pepper .

1. Heat the oven to 450F. Put the turkey on a stable cutting board, breast side down, and cut out the backbone (use heavy kitchen shears to cut on each side of the backbone, cutting from front to rear). Turn the bird over and press on it to flatten. Put it breast side up in a roasting pan that will accommodate it (a slightly snug fit is okay). The wings should partially cover the breasts, and the legs should protrude a bit..

2. Tuck the garlic and the herbs under the bird and in the nooks of the wings and legs. Rub with the olive oil and sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper..

3. Roast for 20 minutes, undisturbed. By this time the bird should be browning; Baste with the pan juices, and return it to the oven. Reduce the heat to 400F (or 350F if it seems to be browning very quickly)..

4. Begin to check the birds temperature about 15 minutes later (10 minutes if the bird is on the small side). It is done when the thigh meat measures 165F; check it in a couple of places..

5. Let the bird rest for a few minutes before carving, then serve with the garlic cloves , or serve at room temperature..

.

You can also do this turkey on the grill, but it will likely fall apart, so be forewarned...

Thank you so much, Penny!!!! I can't cook to save my life - but I've saved your recipe and will go over it with dh who is MUCH better at these things than I am. Yes, I got the shopping gene, he got the cooking gene!!! :-).

Good morning Beth! I love the Chai Latte - yours sounds absolutely wonderful!.

Good morning sunshine's!.

Penny, I have so been craving turkey lately. Of course no one sells it right now. Oooohh I wonder if they will start selling them for Easter. Enjoy yours..

Thanks for the SB Susan. Yum. I admit, my son is a manager at SB. I get a free bag of coffee beans every week. Aaaahhh... good stuff.

What more can you ask for?.

As for the sludge talk up there. Oh. Em. Gee.. Frustrating. If I hear one more person say that it doesn't matter if you cheat just once or every once in awhile..

I hope you all have a good Friday. It's raining here. I see 5 loads of laundry and housework in my future. A regular party..

No chopped tofu until I drink more coffee...

Good Morning TL'ers!!.

I'm happy to report I'm not as crabby today!.

Probably because I'm OFF until Monday and can just relax today! (I have pet sitting tomorrow and Sunday but that's not "work", especially since I can take my dogs to play with their dogs and it turns into a doggie party!).

I'm very glad I live close to the Medifast warehouse as I always wait almost too long before I order. I ordered late Tuesday night, got the shipping notification Wednesday, and my food was here before 10am Thursday! Gotta love it! (especially since I was out of a lot of good stuff and eating through the stuff I kinda have to gag down).

I'll be on and off all day, between surfing the 'net and doing nothing at all. Have a great OP day everyone!.

Good Morning TL'er's and HALLELUJAH IT'S FRIDAY, BABY!!!.

I thought this day would never come!.

Caliborne - I'm impressed with the P90X, I keep thinking it's too intense for me haha. I need to ramp up my exercising again now that the ski slopes are closed for the season *sigh*. I was thinking of digging out my Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, but am definitely looking into the P90X. Do you find you're bulking up more or is it toning?.

Nancharity - Biking! I'm thinking that might be my new springtime hobby to take up. Nothing crazy and I'm not the best biker but it's also another sneaky and fun way to get in some exercise. Do you go mountain biking or just around on roads/trails?.

TKD - Ahh! Elizabeth Taylor - she will be missed. If it hasn't been mentioned yet, the original "Father of the Bride" is definitely worth checking out. I saw it with my mom about 1 1/2 months ago on Turner Classic Movies (I'm a dork, yes) and it was FANTASTIC. She was stunning and it was so funny, like the re-make!.

I'm happy to report work has finally calmed down and I'm gaining some of my life back haha. The scale FINALLY budged this morning - down 0.2 but I'll take it haha. It's been sitting at 154 for about a month now. Apparently, I didn't update my ticker so it showed a greater "loss" for this week LOL (that was a nice surprise!). My TOM came yesterday so maybe next week it'll move a little more. If not, *sigh*, I will patiently wait for that darn scale to cooperate..

Well I hope everyone has a FABULOUS FRIDAY!!!.

Penny - Thanks for sharing that. I almost never cook turkey outside of holidays. This sounds good and easy. I think the only think I would change would be to brine the bird first. Since I have a DH that's a butcher, getting a butterflied turkey should be no problem..

Morning all!.

My sanity has returned this morning and I am NOT leaving the safety of this room. So I am expecting you to keep me entertained today so that I'm not tempted. Work on those knots because we all learned yesterday that I am addicted to stewpidity and when I'm bored, I seem to go in search of it..

SLW - WTG on starting the thread and thanks for the coffee..

Karen - Welcome! I used to think that I was the one to watch out for here, but I think Ella might have surpassed me last night!.

Nan - good so see you pop in today and glad t&m is going well for you. Which week are you on now?.

To everyone else - Happy Friday!!!.

I just need to get through this very slow and boring day then I am out of the office until the 4th! WOOT!!! I may do some work from home, but not really planning on it unless something comes up that needs immediate attention. I have LOTS to do in the next week. Yard work, house work, hopefully getting some raised beds up so I can start my garden, and possibly some painting inside. Not sure how much of this will actually get done, but I certainly have enough on my list to keep me plenty busy...

De! Sit. Stay. I hope you have a great week off. Scope out those AZ bead shops for me!.

Cheri, I will trade you a pair of earrings of your choice for a bag of Komodo Dragon!.

Speaking of... time for another cup! I do "pour-overs" now here at work, but I think I'm going to go for the convenience of a K-cup this time...

Ha ha De.... If you are giving up the stewpidity for a day, you won't get to read the OP response to the booze question. I know you want to read it.... Temptation. Give in. It's not right to deprive yourself..

Penny - I should go in the coffee exchange program. However, I think shipping it will cost as much as purchasing it. Bummer...

Oh, I can't even begin to catch up, so here's a generic, good work, good luck, and good morning, thank god it's Friday..

I joined a CSA today, it starts in May and runs through October. Here's what a CSA is if you are unfamiliar:.

I was trying to get into an organic one, but the folks didn't respond, so I chose one instead that allows me to pickup my share right by my office. Although some of the produce will definitely be off plan, I can feed it to DSO, share it with my elderly neighbors, can it, freeze it, or feed it to the dog or the chickens. I'm just excited to have local produce! I figure that by staying OP, I'll reach T&M within the time that we're getting CSA boxes, and I'll be able to go into T&M using some of my CSA harvest..

It is pricey, works out to about 25 dollars a week, but that's worth it for me to avoid the grocery store...

Penny - For you.

Oh, and 170/8/20 Tomorrow we will be in a new decade! WOOT!!!!!..

Quick morning hellos!.

I have lost 30 lbs since 1/18. Wahhooo.

Off to work!!..

I live within riding distance of a 50-mile bike trail that runs thru 3 counties, and it is BEAUTIFUL all along the trail. Of course I have never done the 50-miles in one ride! It's a great resource and is also connected to 3 county parks. I definately recommend bike riding for low impact, fun exercise..

And how could I ever forget Father of the Bride. It's definately one of my "must see every few years" movies! She is so beautiful in it! But I don't even think she was 20-years old yet when it was made!..

De I am on week 3 with the dairy. Like you said you were, I'm afraid of grain week and keep putting off starting it!..

Oh Yes cheri the first date I must have a drink-REALLY..

I agree De Ella is snarky.

In a good way! Have fun with the yard work! I woke up this am to SNOW! ahhhhhh this is when I have Iowa winters enough already!.

Penny the turkey sounds divine- unfortunately I am from Louisiana and the ONLY way to eat turkey is DEEP FRIED (can I say that?) so I will be refraining. Although I may have to try your recipe..

Anonygirl- that sounds awesome!!.

Kcups ROCK!! I had the southern pecan today with my hot cocoa blended with ice- um um um- awesome!.

No chopped tofu! Hi everyone else have a great OP day!!!..

I SO wanna go here, De! Under Projects, those wire-wrapped crystal swirly ones are right up my alley!.

Congratulations, Steph! That's amazing! Rock on!..

Oh Ella! You started something! Way to go!!!! And while everyone was laughing so hard they were peeing in their pants, I was sleeping! Great, I missed all the fun. Nice that Medifast stepped in at least and validated everyone here..

Ok, so I have to take care of my charge at 11:30 and then I have a L&G lunch coming up with a co-worker, followed by an afternoon of shopping. (!!!) Well, these jeans are TOO BIG, ok? Lalalalalalalala - singing allllll the way to the mall..

And Ella, stay out of trouble, ok?.

Love to all,.

Morning TL'ers......

Spent some time reading the MC threads of yesterday....I can just say I am glad I found you guys when I did. It's scary out there........

Had a great NSV last night....When I wanted to scream at every person in my household because I was so stressed out, I went for a run instead. Week 2 Day 3 of my Couch to 5K.

I felt better when I got back home and all was right in the world again....without sludge. Oh how my life has changed in the last 11.5 weeks......

Awww! I just noticed my big sister, a/k/a my SissyBoom, made a nice purchase from my Etsy! Thanks, Cath!.

Bobbie, that coffee combo sounds great. Unfortunately, the people here who ORDER the coffee don't DRINK much of it, so they often run low or run out of the good stuff. I love Lake and Lodge, but all we've had lately is the Breakfast Blend (too light) and the Vermont Blend (passable). Sometimes I'll just pick up a box of my own. I have ONE Sumatran Reserve left for an emergency. Luckily, we can pick how much our cup holds, so in my 16-oz.

And a 6 oz. for a little extra strength..

And for those of you who don't drink coffee, that whole last paragraph didn't mean a hill of beans...

If you are talking about the must have booze thread, well, that was me posting a response from Medifast that I copied many moons ago when the advice and information from Medifast actually made sense...

Enjoy the peace!!!.

You can modify to do what you want. Mostly I just feel better. When I did this with my dh we only got through week 3 then he left for Iraq and took the dvds with him. I just started again two days ago and really I'm getting through about 1/2 of the workouts (and tomorrow is Yoga which is the most irritating one of all but I feel the best after it). The women I know who do it get muscle definition but don't look like bodybuilders...

OMG you all were chatty while I was typing...

.. enjoy your time away from work.

We have a great CSA here it even delivers to my house and I can skip weeks (and pay by the week).

Have fun shopping!.

Good job running!!!!..

Those do remind me of you! Well, any time you want a pair of eyes to see if I can find something you can't, let me know cause it's not that far away from me...

Phew..lots to catch up on already with you TL folks..

I love this thread..

Ella and Rachael have that no nonsense way about them that often comes with being an RN and I notice especially ER RN. I love that about nurses..

Welcome to all the new folks. This is an awesome group!!.

Penny, I can't wait to make that turkey. Like De, I never think about turkey until Thanksgiving. I am going to go find one today and make it this weekend. I may make it on my little Weber Q..haven't decided yet. Hmm..maybe partially on the Q and the rest of the time in an easier to control oven. The think I'm really excited about is that I have been saving up some great chicken bones from the TJ whole chickens I've been baking and I think the turkey back will round out my bones and I will have enough to make an awesome OP chicken soup this weekend.

Penny, can't wait to get my jewelry. As SOON as I hear the mailman, I am zipping out there...

I am on my way to TRADER JOES!!! Going to get the chili lime chicken burgers and ML meatballs- what else should I get?..

AHHH!!! Can't believe I got sucked into the booze thread. What WAS I thinking? Back here now, safe and sound..

I am down 2.1 for the week!!!! YAY!!!!!!!.

Too many posts to comment on individually, but love reading them all..

I've been sitting here at the computer in nothing but panties since I weighed in. Guess I'd better think about clothing soon..

Have a great day!!!..

SLW, I mailed it on the same day as the other package and you aren't far from that location, so you should have it today. I hope you like it!..

Bobbie, I LOVE LOVE their Empire Kosher chickens. A bit spendy, but the flavor is unreal. We even did a taste test. I bought one of the Empire and one of the TJ Organic. Cooked them both and compared them side by side. No comparison..the Empire chicken was amazing...

Sounds interesting. I'll have to check that one out...

I am definitely going to make some stitch markers.....

Now I can't stop thinking about chili lime chicken burgers. Those are OP? I.

Them now..

On another note, I seriously feel like crying today and I am not a crier. I feel exhausted and don't know why. I haven't been back OP that long. Maybe my body is still adjusting...

Trader Joe's.....

Okay, so I couldn't resist the temptation. I jumped on the booze thread. Now I just have to wait to be told how mean I am. Hostile, mean, and judgemental...

De, if you do, try it without brining it. Because it's Kosher (I'm sure you know this, but saying it for anyone who may not) they do salt it and I swear some of the salt goes into the meat. You'll see what I mean when you eat it..

Carolyn, I'm sorry you feel like crying. Maybe you just should to get it over with. Rent Terms Of Endearment or something to get you started. AND..YES..Chili Lime burgers are OP..

By the way, to everyone, I mentioned sludge by name too. was the WF version, but still....

Ha ha... I am a mean, hostile, at goal and staying there meanie. Being 100% has made me mean. Thin. But mean... lol...

Susan- is that a whole chicken? Not sure I could do that- chicken breasts sure- whole chicken-no so much.......

Man that booze thread..

I seldom brine chicken. Just turkey. Sometimes, but not often, pork depending on the fat content, the size, and the way I'm cooking. I think the only time I brine chicken is when I'm cooking it on the grill, because it tends to dry out faster than roasting. I definitely brine pork if I'm grilling. There is nothing I hate more than dry chewy meat.

Carolyn - {{{HUG}}} and this should make you feel better. Not only are Chili Lime burgers OP, you can have TWO!..

GM all! I just found you all this morning and think that this is the place that I need to be! I was browsing yesterday and was appalled (sp?) at some of the things that people were talking about! I'm on week 2 and it is nowhere on my radar to figure out how to make some OP Easter Sludge! Someone was trying to get ideas as how to make an OP Cad***y egg! Really, isn't that why we are on Medifast in the first place?? Anyway, glad I found you and happy to join you...

Bobbie, it is a whole chicken that I am referring to, but they also have Empire chicken pieces. I did purchase the breasts and they are delish too..

You know, I think about this a lot and I know I'm not the first to notice this, but when I read people's posts, I have a habit of looking over at when they started and the weight loss they have achieved. No coincidence that the ones who choose to be casual about this plan absolutely have slower losses. Yes, I know sometimes that is just the kind of loser that they are, but I also think it has to be connected often. Just a useless observation of mine...

De, you might not have to brine the butterflied turkey, either. It cooks so quickly, it doesn't have time to dry out. I imagine it WOULD taste better, though!.

Do I hafta go and drop my hot-water-bottle graphic in a thread somewhere?..

Susan, what time does your mail come? And I also look at how long someone has been on MF. Or how many times. Many loudmouths have been around a LONG time. And some others are just loudmouths...

Funny. I was just thinking the same thing. I can only think of one person who has been on MF, met goal, and maintained who goes along with the "do as you want" crowd. She is always dissing on tough love. But only one person. Only one experienced MFer.

Coincidence? I think not...

You know, all the MC talk of going off plan or quitting Medifast entirely for cheaper products got me thinking. I am.

Terrified, petrified, and scared silly.

To go off MF. I've never been like this before-I 'worked the plan' on JC and WW for years and stalled (duh) and I wouldn't want to do that on MF, because I believe I can actually get to goal...

Can anyone help? I'm trying to update my ticker to reflect my weight loss and it won't let me!! Anyone else having this problem?..

On the MC board the top post is how to make and update tickers...

Harper you have to completely remake the whole thing and then copy and paste the new text into your signature. WElcome by the way..

Susan, thanks for the start!! (And yes, I think it does have something to do with being an RN... some of the things we see! The number of comments I have started with "and so you thought it would be a good idea to fill-in-the-blank-with-something-incredibly-stupid...").

Welcome, Karen..

Anna... awesome news on the pound!.

Penny... you're tempting me... we've got a turkey in the freezer. Think I may have to get it thawing. (But of course, it's rare for me to buy a bird under 25 lbs. Not much point to it, you know??).

Megan, good job on the planning! I am on call starting at 3pm, so I could easily end up with a 16 hour day..

Hey, Nan... glad you're enjoying TransitionLand!.

Steph, congrats on the 30!!.

De, you KNOW you're going to go check it out...... you just can't resist trashing the stewpid!!!.

Melissa... me??? Trouble???? NEVER..... LOL.

Cara, congrats on the loss!.

Carolyn... hugs... this too shall pass. Kinda like the fake "hunger" we get when we're really bored... if we can just grit through it remembering that it is a falsehood designed to get us off track.... it's gotten me through many a truly down period...

Cheri, my DH says Medifast makes us aggressive... he says he's always hearing me read stuff about killing cravings and destroying trigger foods and so on....

Hi to everyone else, I'm sure I missed a ton coming in to eight PAGES of posts!.

Second day of pediatric stuff for the DH so he's gone all day, may not even get home before I have to leave for work. (Definitely won't if I get called in early.) Had a crap paycheck this week so I need to check my stub when I get to work, it doesn't seem right. The good news is once I'm done with my three shifts, I'm truly off work until the following Friday unlike this crazy week (which will at least make the next check bigger. Sigh. Why can't people just pay me without me having to pull all the shifts?? LOL).

Down a little bit more today which made it 1.7 for the week according to Bodybugg. I'll take it! Soooo looking forward to seeing the 180s!!!.

I'm on a tear, so I've got the kids CLEANING (no school today, their spring break started today plus all of next week.) because I just can't take it anymore!!! Patrick is being a flirty little goof, which is good for mama's mood!! Have to go get a birthday present for a classmate of Amanda's, party is tomorrow. No clue what to get the child. If I had a functioning car I'd take advantage of the rare nice weather and drive in to Lewiston (90 miles away) and go shopping, but alas, the wagon is being balky... heck, I'll have to walk to work tonight! Glad the weather seems to finally be turning. But like I told the kids, I would like to start gardening and I can't do THAT until we get this inside mess sorted out...

*sitting on hands*.

It is NOT MY TURN to deal with the "you big meanies" finger-pointing thread on MC. Not. I mean, how many times have I said that there's different kinds of advice here, and you take the kind that works for you? How many times have I said that people communicate differently from different regions/cultures/classes/educational backgrounds/etc and that it's best to assume we're all here trying to help in our own ways? How many times have I said "gee, isn't it great what a bunch of nonsense gets stirred up when you take a bunch of addicts in different stages of recovery (or not recovery) and put them all together on the interwebnets"?.

But if I posted that over there, I'd keep coming back to read the stirred-up anthill, and I did that yesterday..

De, I love the "addicted to stewpidity" thing. Me too. Apparently yesterday's taste was too much for me to handle. I'm on a binge...

No coincidence at all! And if the maintainer you're talking about is who I think it is, all of her issues come from our lovely previous team of special TL. 3 YEARS AGO!!!.

Ella - Sadly I DID check it out but did not participate after my Medifast quote before I checked in here this morning. I just don't have the desire or energy today..

Harpert - Welcome! This is the place to be if hearing about sludge offends you. We don't even talk about healthy t&m sludge here...

What is funny (okay, not ha ha funny) Freya is that they post on their "Tough Love is mean" threads that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Hmmm... apparently everyone except 100%ers. I think they mean everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as they agree with it and as long as it allows them to do as they want..

Because as someone posted up there "No one should be lectured on the boards"!.

No, you're all doing such a great job on your own. Follow your heart. Have a drink or three. Eat the sludge. Who needs advice?..

Ah yes. Thank you for that, Cheri. Nice one...

Oooh the angry anthill has spread into another thread just to complain about us!!.

Do you think if we ignore it, it'll go away?.

I'M not getting into this... I have to study for and take a test today, and then make pretty for a wedding tonight... don't have the time to get wrapped up in a fight....

But I am totally up for being a spectator!..

No, it's spread to TWO!!!.

Damn it! Get those knots working people!!!!..

Good Morning!.

I just wanted to jump in and say 'mornin' before I catch up on the posts..

Its snowing, sticky snow here right now. Brrrrr. In the last hour we have accumulated about two inches..

Quick question: I hate the sweet taste that I get in my mouth. Water and excercise intensify it. DH says I need to learn to love it, but it makes my stomach turn. Any suggestion on how to mask the taste...

Make me stop!!! I can't control myself today!!!! (with the stewpidness) I have learned tho that we are rude and confusing!!!!..

I wish I had a sweet taste instead I have horrible breath and use Listerine strips. (they sell them by the toothpaste) and they also open your sinuses LOL..

Cheri - This is how it's ALWAYS been. People don't want to hear that the plan works as written and if we do post our opinions, we are mean, and bullies and have NO idea what we're talking about. But you know what? Look at the posts on the booze thread recently. Ridiculing and bad mouthing US because we obviously can't control ourselves, while they are so obviously in COMPLETE control of themselves in all situations. Makes you wonder why they are here to begin with, doesn't it? If their way works so well, why on earth do they need MF? I've also noticed the relative newness of every single one of them. It doesn't occur to them that possibly we have BTDT?..

I've found those Listerine breath strips to help. When I taste that taste, I know I'm doing it right, so I've learned to kinda' like it...

Rude, hostile, mean, confrontational, lecturing, judgemental, juvenile.....

Oh wait, I forgot THIN!!!! AT GOAL!!!! HEALTHY!!!!!..

+1. I taste it the most at night, before and when I am going to bed. It's a friendly reminder that I've been burning fat while sitting on my butt (or running it off at work!) all day long!..

Hi to everyone. I am TOTALLY behind on all things TL as it has been a hellacious week at werk. I'll try and get caught up, but just had to post this:.

You've all laughed at my ignorance of abbreviations and acronyms - don't try and deny it, I know you have.

Penny, I think my mail gets here around 11. I will go out and check then..

Ella: Yes, RNs see the worst of the worst. I just got a call from one of our ER nurses. She works for Legacy in their ER .6 a week and works for us the rest of the time. In her ER last night, she was spit on, ejaculated on and had poop smeared on her scrubs. Nice shift. Tonight she has Lifeflight duty and is VERY happy that she does...

Didn't get it the first time and haven't gotten it this time. Don't know why...

Penny, yes, I especially love the ones who have been around since 2006 and have 100 plus lbs to loose. Now, that sounds terribly mean and I hope karma doesn't come back to bite me, but please..should we really take their well meaning advice?.

Harpert, welcome!! You sound like you will fit in well...

*sigh* Yes..

As for the sweet taste, no, I never really got it. I remained hungry much of the time, too. On the other hand, I had huge energy and consistent losses, so I'm thinking I was in ketosis. Just my own version of it...

I have the sweet taste almost all day, every day. I don't like how it tastes either, but I take it as a sign that I am burning off my rolls. I tried even more water, but it's just always there. Most mints and gum have carbs, so I'm living with it..

When it is gone for a few hours, I think 'oh no, I'm not losing anything right now!' Of course, that's probably not true, since plenty of people lose a ton without any saccharine taste in their mouths...
