Good morning glories!.

I had a nice weekend, we had a great time visiting our friend. We mainly just hung out with her and her friends. Satuday we went to a big park near by and hiked for a couple miles. We climbed on some rocks too, they had some pretty cool formations. Back at work now, which sucks. I'm really p*ssed at the VP.

I sent them off at 3pm on Friday and haven't even gotten so much as a "thank you". I know that it's part of my job, but it really sucks when you warn someone "If we do X then Y will happen", then he tells you to still do X, you warn him again that Y will happen, but do X as you were told. Then he's unhappy with Y and makes you do it again differently so Y doesn't happen...

I am a stay at home mom to three boys. We recently moved to Colorado from Ohio. After that move, food became my best friend since I left all my friends in OH..

In my former life, I was a teacher. I am hoping to get back into the classroom for the fall. Getting back to the workforce is something that I need! It is definitely time..

Sorry your VP is being a jerk. Did you hear anything back from the "meeting"?.

My weekend kind of stunk. I am on new meds for the lovely H. Pylori I got. NEVER eating a salad or raw veggies at a resturant again and NEVER buying the bagged salad again either..

So I have to be on several antibiotics now and they are tearing me up. I feel like crap.

I sooo hate antibiotics...they always make me sick...

My weekend was good. Book club Friday night..I didn't get home till around 1am. Sat. was kind of quiet and then went to my sister's for her kids' b'day party. Iz spent the day w/ my MIL,( lunch and Gnomeo & Juliet) then she slept over at my mom's. She had a good weekend!.

We went to Ri's comp on Sunday morning then picked up Iz. Had some friends over last night..

I have a reaction to the amount of soy in MF. I am mostly Soy free now but boy I can tell the difference if I eat like 2 bags of puffs. I dont have a rash or anything. Just REALLY bad stuffy nose, like hayfever...

Yup Merz, I'm a worker bee today. The good thing about working from home with no supervision is flexibility, the bad thing is I have to meet my deadline or I won't be working from home lol. Really, I work for family, and I think my stepmom would like me to fade even further into the background, so if I were clever and conscience free, I could probably figure out how to get all my job farmed out without anyone really noticing lol. Of course as it stands, if I miss a deadline, the people I deal with go straight to the owners, so no slacky slacky.....

We got a foot of snow Sat night! Crazy, I was hiking on dry dirt and sunshine with the kids last week. Why won't it all just go away?.

I gained a stupid (official) pound! I hadn't changed my ticker, so if I change it now it will be +2.8 pounds. I had weighed in the middle of the week to, and was actually down .4 from my ticker, so I was really excited to weigh in. So unhappy about that! I was completly on plan. Being so busy though I have been eating more bars and puffs and pancakes. I am going to swith back to pretty much just shakes for a few days to see if that kickes it into gear! Ah, I hate working so hard to go stinking backwards. Yes to all the OP questions. By the stinking book, including condiments, and I had ONE optional snack all week! I am thinking I am needing a little smooth move tea, but the inches should at least be budging...

Tiff- I have like tiny red bumps on my chest and arm, I'm thinking it may be heat rash since I sleep on my stomach and my arm under the pillow with the heat blasting.

Im going to just get more covers and no heat on tonight. Ive been putting cortizone on it, also my chest some of the bumps look like they were once blisters.

No bueno, I feel ugly!!!.

I went out on saturday and looked good.

I got hit on a lot...lots of chocolate but no real winners ha!..

My weekend was alright. Friday we had crapola around the house like our air conditioner stopped working...and it's back in the 80's so we needed it! The landlord sent out a guy who said he would be there between 1 and 3 which ment, 3. So, we had other stuff to do. I went running with Sara. It was miserably hot. But we did W5D1.

Rushed home, got dressed and then went to a birthday part at a karaoke club for one of Sara's friend of a friend. She begged Angie and I to go so we did. It was actually fun. But we came home early so because of the baby at my mom's and work and stuff..

Saturday I worked and did homework. Nothing too eventful there..

Sunday I did more homework and ran W5D2! 8 minute jog, 5 minute, 8 minute job with 5 warm-up and cool down. So excited! The weird thing is that the W5D3 jumps up to a 20 minute run with no walk. How strange and what a big leap! We'll see how that goes....

And today, I'm here. Trying to deal with work and the Monday blahs, as usual. Sorry it took so long for me to write this all out! I got sidetracked about 40 different ways...

I have a question. Do you weigh your veggies or measure?.

I really only weigh the lettuce for me. But I dried my lettuce a little too much this weekend so it seems to weigh a LOT less so I have a ton to eat for the day. (Didnt think about it being the drying until just now)..

So basically thats my question, for lettuce do you weigh or measure? If you measure do you press it down as it's kind of difficult to shove into a cup?..

Xtina- I remember the big leap! I did a week 5.5 of my own design which involved running 10 min 2x with a 5 min rest in between..

Tiffany- I weigh unless my scale is broken, which it usually is. Then I measure. For lettuce, I remember Medifast has said to shove the lettuce down in the cup...

Welcom Lene - I'm pretty new too!.

Nice to have an extra day at home - - although I brought plenty of work home with me to work on over the 3-day weekend....haven't touched it yet! Thinking about going to see a movie today - - the one thing holding me back is keeping my hands off the popcorn! My bf LOVES buttery popcorn. The last time we went I brought celery to crunch on; but still ate some popcorn. I need to keep an eye on my carbs having a difficult time do that! Any advice????.

I have two questions that I'd love some input on. I'm on week 3; so still learning... When do I get back on the treadmill? I've had continual weight loss..so do I start exercising when I the scale stops moving down?.

Hi Grasshopper!.

Are you on the 5-1? If you are, you can't have popcorn, no exceptions. Don't eat it. No matter how good it smells. Take a Medifast bar or puffs and pretzels. Do NOT eat the popcorn..

What issues are you having with carbs? The need to be 100g or less per day. It is 100% possible to be on plan and be OVER 100g carbs, especially if you use meatless options. Medifast shakes tend to have the lowest amount of carbs..

You can start exercising now! Just take it easy, and if you feel dizzy or light headed stop...

Bathing suits are the bane of my existence. I have a freakishly long torso so it's nearly impossible to find a one piece that fits right. I would like a swimsuit that the Australian girl surfers wear: the tight top with sleeves and a regular bottom. That would be ideal but the top would have to be made longer for my freakishly long torso. FREAKISH!.

My carb issues: This might sound dumb, but I haven't really been counting carbs other than followng the 5-1 and weighing meat and veges. I need to log the carbs so that I know whether I'm staying under the 100g..

I'm going to get back on the treadmill on Weds. I used to go down to the gym on Mondays and Wednesdays during lunch and do a brisk walk for 20 mins...... I'll see how I feel because prior to Medifast I would be a bit light headed and sooo hungry and in need of protein and carbs after...

You dont have to log if you dont want too, I didnt at first but now do. On this site at the top is a tab called "MyPlan" if you hover and click log meals you can log everything there. Thats what I do. Hope that helps...

Xtina- LOL on your torso. Have you tried Lands End at all?.

Mmm, portabella mushroomies sound good!.

Heatherbee- how long were you in Germany?.

Grasshopper- You really don't have to count carbs as long as you are on the 5-1, stick to your max of 3 condiments, and are losing weight and aren't super hungry. If you start to stall, start counting carbs. Medifast was designed so that you didn't HAVE to count calories and such. But if you stall or notice that you are extra extra hungry, you might have had too many carbs and left ketosis, the fat-burning state...

So I'm not Melissa, but what you do is...Click COmmunity tab on the top of the page. Scroll down on the left side where you would normally do your ticker and then it says Tracking: and weight is the default. Just click weight and change it.

Mer - Not sure I think Starz? But it's on Netflix instant queue. Just not sure about it. Be warned it has a LOT of sex and nudity and lots and lots of cussing and of course since it's about gladiators it has violence. But the base story line I like. I am almost done with season 1, season 2 was postponed as the main character got cancer. So season 2 will have a different actor..

I haven't tried Lands End. I think I'm not in those sizes yet...but then again I've never looked. I probably, oddly enough need a tall swimming suit..

The mushrooms are pre-made! Bought them from Sweetbay grocery store. They have a deli section with steaks you get to pick out and this is one of the things they had pre-made. I've had their kabobs before and they are the bombdotcom!..

Xtina- Lands End has tall swimsuits, they are made for longer torsos..

They also have plus sizes up to 26, but the tall swimsuits only go up to size 18..

Merz- We lived in Columbus for 2.5 years. I miss it which I didn't think that I would! I miss seeing green grass but I am really not complaining because we love the mountains..

What is everyone eating for their L&G?.

So I started to exercise...it isn't too early, right? Today is the last day of week 2 for me. I think I read it was ok to start in week 3. I did a step class on Saturday morning and today I did a jazzercise class that absolutely kicked my butt. I was imagining old women in leg warmers and unitards but it was not like that at all. The instructor was buff with tattoos. Darn stereotypes!.

My legs felt like jello after but I wouldn't say I was overtired or hungry after the class. How many days a week should I take classes right now? It was definitley high impact..

I am a total bath nut. I take a hot, bubble bath nearly every night. I am a stay at home mom to three boys and that IS MY "me time". I lock the door so it is uninterrupted and I read my book. It is my favorite time of the day. Hmm maybe because it is bed time for the kids, as well?.

I haven't been very good about measuing my lettuce. I usually just cut a bunch of romaine up and eat it. lol I've been avoiding tomatoes and cucumbers in my salad....usually chicken with a tiny bit of feta..

I am looking forward to getting to know you guys. This seems like a REALLY supportive group. YEA!..

Hey girls...back from the fabric store and B & N w/ the girls. We had to get out of the house. We are meeting my BIL and kids at the diner for dinner later (1/2 price Mondays). Not doing much tonight...supposed to get some snow which I don't want! Wahhhhh!!! It was 70 on Friday!.

Good evening ladies, Its late and I know you are all gone by now but my Hubby is on the phone so I thought I would stop by and catch up.

Didnt really do a whole lot this weekend, Friday I took my Daughter for her hair cut and then to Applesbees for dinner we had alot of fun, Sat nothing much and then Sunday stayed home and was lazy. Today I had a ServSafe class for work it's similar to foodhandlers but more in depth and lasts for 5 years. I got home about 6 after picking up a few things for charla at Walmart.

Welcome Lene, Im Amy 30 yr old married mother of 3 from Oregon, I was a stay at home Mom for 9 years, and recently started working at the Elementary school my kids attend. I also lost 65 lbs in 2009 but sadly have gained most that back..

Hi Ladies,.

Sorry to have been away for so long... I'm swamped at school and haven't been keeping up with the forums. But I'm about 15 pounds down, official weigh in in the morning.

But I had a few slips recently. So, picking up, brushing off, learning, and moving forward..

I went clothes shopping recently and am now wearing an 18 (ok, sometimes 20, depending on the cut) pants, down from a 22.

Why did I go shopping? Because I have a Major Interview on Thursday, and I want to look as good as possible! I'm also getting my hair cut tomorrow and a manicure. I think I have a real shot at this job, so I want to look my best and be as well prepared as possible. It will be a technical interview (I "passed" the phone interview, but was already getting asked some hard math and physics questions), so I have some studying to do. Anyway hopefully I'll have some good news after the interview.

Grasshopper I've found that the honey mustard "pretzel" sticks (more like cracker sticks) have worked well for avoiding movie popcorn. I'm not a fan of the puffs but they would probably work well too if you like them. I personally really like the pretzel sticks, as long as I don't try to pretend that they are pretzels. But I like the crunchiness of them, and even though it doesn't look like a lot of food in the bag, it ends up taking a while to eat them..

Weightlifting. But I'm not doing that right now, can't make the time commitment :/ Maybe after the semester. So for now... walking..

I'm a water baby, I like them all! But my favorite isn't listed. My favorite is soaking in hot springs. And my second favorite is streams/rivers. From the choices above, oceans. I really like dynamic, natural water..

3. If you were given free money that had to be used towards a swimsuit, what kind would you get? What color/pattern?.

I can't really think about that right now :P probably a tankini though. I'm usually pretty comfortable in them, and I can wear the tops just for hiking. For bottoms I like the skirted ones for swimming/pool lounging because I'm self conscious about the tummy. For swimming in an exercising way I like the normal brief kind of bottom. I usually go for dark patterns..

4. How many different states have you lived in? Name them..

Pennsylvania (about 22 years), Indiana (6 months), Virginia (3 months), and Arizona (about 10 years)..

5. If you had to eat the same Medifast meal for all 5 of your meals what would it be and why?.

Hot Chocolate, hands down. It is warm and tasty and takes a while to drink. I like hot beverages. Ask me again in May when we hit 100 degrees!..

Lene- Yes take Measurements, When I first did Medifast in 2009 I took them once a month and the difference was incredible. I really like the Grilled Chicken caesar salad at McDonalds.

GO AMY! Remember, it will not be easy. But it WILL be worth it. You will have your struggles. But if you make it not a choice, it may be a little easier. As in automatically telling yourself "no" when it comes to off plan foods. That way there's no internal struggle.

I have chosen against parenthood. So many people tell me I will change my mind, but I really don't see that happening..

Lene- Their grilled chicken salads have about half the chicken you need. If you are planning on eating it for your L&G, you will need to ask for double chicken (or get the rest of your lean later). I think it's also short on veggies, but I'm not as sure on that..

I recommend taking measurements monthly or at the most, biweekly. They REALLY help at times when the scale isn't budging...

Yeah Merz- I think the mcdonalds salads are about 1/2 your lean & green maybe a little more than 1/2 of your lean. Charla said she got a salad there last week and it was huge so maybe they have some new ones?? I dont know it's been a long time since Ive had one..

MY SKATES ARE IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO happy! Tryouts are tonight! I obsessively check the tracking number and it was signed for by the hubster. I'm surprised he didn't call and let me know, but I don't think he's taken his lunch yet. He knows UPS man well and might have somehow gotten him to deliver the package to J at BedBath instead of at home since it needed signed for. I'm sure I'll hear about it later..

Tryouts are tonight, I'm so happy I will have speed skates instead of the rentals!.

At Fast Food places, I sometimes get a side salad and a grilled chicken sandwich (or burger) and ditch the bun. It's cheaper and more protein...

Thanks Heather! I need it! So many people are telling me "aww, you'll do great!". I have to explain to them that before a couple weeks ago I couldn't skate a lap without touching the wall. I still have trouble stopping. I'm planning on practicing my turn around toe-stops on my kitchen floor tonight before tryouts. I haven't even tried them because I couldn't practice on the rentals because the toe stops were worn down to nubs..

Amy- our friend's son Cameron was supposed to be a girl. Didn't find out until he was delivered. They had a LOT of pink stuff they took back! When it happend, I was so surprised, I had thought that with all the technology and 4-d ultra sounds and stuff they could tell a boy from a girl..

If you haven't), but I did not pass the skills test. I was the only one out of 12 who did not..

I did really bad last night, I fell multiple times while doing my knee slides and stops. I was pretty bummed, because I did not want to wait until Fall. While they were tabulating scores, they called me over and told me I didn't pass. BUT, if I was willing to work hard and go to open skates on my own, they would love to have me in practices. The beginning practices are just working on basic skills. However, once they move on to pack skating, whipping, and blocking, they will need to make sure I am steady on my skates.

I was expecting to be shown the door. But they said they could tell I wanted it and worked hard, and they know how hard it is to break-in new skates (mine were fresh out of the box)..

I stayed late at practice to help do stats for a scrimmage, it was pretty fun! I'm also helping with the bout on Saturday...

Hi all,.

The last few days have been like herding cats at work. I was up at the Pentagon all day yesterday. I had to get there EARLY because of trying to park my truck in the parking lot. You know if I had the $$ I would get another car to drive up to the city, and in the metro parking lots. There are more options for smaller cars. OH well, that is my choice to have a big truck..

Here is my weekend summary:.

Friday I took the day off since I had done a 48 hour week and hadn't had overtime approved. I rode all three horses that day. The weather was amazing and I had short sleeves on! My trainer finally saw me without 50 layers of clothes on, and she was in shocked at how good I looked! She hugged me because she is SO proud of me. She is a twig but struggled with anoxeria most of her young life so she understands food addicts..

Saturday I didn't ride at all because of the horrible wind. I needed to pick up my boots from the repair man. I checked on my consigned stuff and several things sold which is GREAT I could use the $$..

Sunday - I woke up kind of cranky but had a lesson. There was a passel of kids and I rode Blizzie. She could tell that I was in a mood. It was a very frustrating lesson for the both of us. I do have a new exercise that I need to do for stretching my right thigh. It HURTS to open up the hips on the right.

I was cold because of not wearing 40 layers of clothes..

Monday - How to start the week...dentist appt. My impant is doing well and in April they do the next stage. Lucky me they have to cut my gum again because I heal to well. GREAT. I rode again and had a less frustrating ride. We went out to lunch a few of us and talked things over.

She re-routed one of the trouble people to her sister's farm. They drive 2 hours for lessons so it is just dumb. The girl wanted to still show the horse she did last year. That is not going to happen because I will be showing her in rated shows so that she can get sold. The girl is going to ride a broke to death horse that knows his job, and her shows will be paid for by C's sister.

Yesterday I was at the Pentagon and in a meeting all day. We were in the cafeteria so I saw MANY, MANY hot military guys. GOOD god they are hot. I was really distracted a few times..

But had to make it look like I was paying attention..

SO busy week..

OH and my therapist who is a weight loss success also gave me THREE bags of clothes!! Some of them aren't my style but I now have OPTIONS in my closet. The clothes situation was looking rough..

OH and cross fingers that the congress comes up with some sort of budget because if the government shuts down it will be BAD...

I love all your horse talk, I cant wait to own horses again, I love them so much. Im crossing my fingers to get chickens this year.

I was looking at Amazon the other day and found some boots I really want but they are $90 something eeek spendy but I love them.

Merz, sorry you didnt pass the test but it sounds like they are an awesome team to include you in practices and score keeping.

By fall you will for sure be ready to kick some booty woohooo.

So I usually dont weigh more than 1-2 times a week but I was curious this morning and weighed myself and am down 2.4 lbs from yesterday I'm excited..

Grasshopper, so sorry I cant remember if you posted your name. I am not a professional or health coach but I would say to just start with walking, unless you worked out alot before Medifast. When I started Medifast in 2009, I started with walking 20-30 mins 3-4 times a week and worked up from there, I also did Wii fit 2-3 times a week but never went over the 40 minutes.

Everyone is different but I would say start with that and see how you feel and how it affects your weight loss..

YAY Grasshopper! I'm sorry hon, but I think 5lbs by Sunday is way to extreme. That's 3% of your body weight. Too lose 5lbs you have to burn 17,500 calories MORE than you eat in the next 4 days. Try going for being 100% OP instead. You can't control how your body loses weight. But you CAN control what you put in your body and make it lose weight as fast as possible!.

But yes, you can begin exercising! Just take it easy at first, if you feel lightheaded or dizzy stop..

Hi Heather!.

I'm just happy I'll get to practice with all of the girls I met at tryouts (we're called "Fresh Meat" now, although I'm like "probabtion Fresh Meat"). There will be another skill test for the Fresh Meat in 3 months. This one I MUST pass to be on the team and compete in bouts. The next 3 months I'll be practicing 2x a week with the other Fresh Meat girls to learn the needed skills. I will also be attending MANY open skates because I need the practice! Fresh Meat girls must attend 75% of the practices to take the skills test. I am already missing 2x in March to go to FL, which blows because I really need all the help and practice I can get and will miss learning important stuff.

I guess a lot of girls drop out in Fresh Meat, which is probably why the accepted me..

As for bruises- I've got some, mainly from having to do slides and hitting my leg on my skates. But I'm not hurt, the knee pads and wrist guards protect from that..

We also have to wear elbow pads, a helmet, and a mouth guard but I haven't fallen on them yet...

Hey Girls, thanks for all the B-day wishes!.

I am home sick today. Yesterday my tummy started acting up again and today I am dehydrated. So I am working from home and such. Unfortunately I am off plan today do to the fact that is much more than crackers and gatorade pass my lips I get sick. So I will do the crackers, broth and gatorade today and jump right back on tomorrow, stomach willing..

Well I'm going to go lay down. I'm actually still working from home, but I need to rest a little bit right now. I am hoping to feel better soon and maybe backread and finish my work projects...
