Quick question... Can Medifast Diet be used to put on weight aswell as lose it? Hoping for any answer or 2. Another question... Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstenance from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

Getting the banner:.

1. Copy the following text using your favorite method:.

2. Click on the "Edit Profile/Settings" link at the top of this page.

3. Click on the "Edit Signature" link on the left of the page.

5. Remove the two asterisks (*) from the text you just pasted.

6. Click "preview signature". You should now see the banner in the Preview area (above where you are editing)!!!.

7. Click the "Save Signature" button. If you do not, all this will have been for naught! So make SURE you save this after you are all set!.

I have a short morning here today. They're doing snow removal on my street and I hafta move the car by 8... I guess I better get in the shower. My husband and my neighbor already removed all of the snow from this side of our block anyway....

Morning all. Chatty, hope that plane leaves the ground today and you make it home safe..

So, I went over to hang out with 2 creative writers last night. The one I recently met at the gym and the other I never met. THey were drinking wine and eating chips and dip and I had tea. It was fun! I am very glad I went. I believe it was really good for me to get out. Noe for today.

My classes begin on tuesday and I haven't even prepared my course materials at all yet. Plus I have 2 shows I have to install here in the next couple of weeks that need more work. Ugh! I also need to hit the gym. I am still in bed btw...

While we may have only had one hater post on my thread, we've been getting snotty comments on another since it went up. Makes me laugh, especially because they are violating board rules by soliciting non Medifast food and being particularly nasty to those who try to get the word out that their pretzels are NOT OP. hehe. I've considered posting again, but can never stop laughing long enough. Probably for the best. Thanks for keeping those haters in line Steph.

I forgot to put the meat to thaw last night, so L&G won't be until dinner tonight. Tilapia. I finished off all the frozen broccoli. All the fresh/frozen veggies I have left is a bag of frozen cut leaf spinach with, frankly, I'm not sure why I bought and I think I will just toss! So it'll be salad with balsamic vinaigrette. I have 4 tilapia fillets, that should be good for 2 days of L&G, then it's off to Vegas, then I'll be 2 chicken breasts and a bunch of veggie burgers away from having a clean freezer. *laughs* I realized I've had entire days where I haven't left the house until I go out with DH in the evenings this last week, because I'm actually working through all this food I've been holding hostage instead of going to the grocery store every other day to buy lettuce and string cheese!..

I have just been enlightened by other Medifasters as to the shocking history of the R_ G _ _ _ discussion board group and to the past actions of certain MF'ers...and I just feel SORRY for them. And disgusted. It's absolutely astonishing how losing weight can make some gain a terrible attitude towards others. I've often wondered if they treat their family members the way they treat others on here...and sympathize with them as well. Or perhaps they just act this way on here, as to gain some sort of twisted sense of status? Whatever the case, I feel sorry for them and hope they gain some sensitivity someday, though that probably won't happen, judging by their past actions...

Can I share a recipe? I love this I havent named it yet!.

8 oz. part-skim ricotta cheese (no healthy fat needed this day).

2 packets Splenda (counts as 2 condiments).

1 cups zucchini or yellow squash ribbons.

Tsp. cinnamon (counts as 1 condiment).

Mix one packet of Splenda into ricotta. Place in fridge. Spray a skillet with Pam and cook squash until soft. Sprinkle with other packet of Splenda and cinnamon and mix well. Serve with chilled ricotta...

Popeye Scallop Soup.

1 12-oz. bag frozen scallops (cooks down to 7 oz).

3 cups baby spinach leaves.

2 tsp good olive oil (1 healthy fat).

In covered skillet, combine all ingredients and cook over low heat until scallops are cooked through. This entire meal is ONE Lean and Green meal...

Totally off topic here, but yesterday I was half-watching TV/half-talking with you all, and the lady we can't mention whose name starts with an O and she ruined Discovery Health's show came on. Her guest was Ricky Martin. I remember him being the butt of a lot of jokes, no pu... never mind. He was promoting his new book and it actually looked really good. I hafta just say that he was so honest and open and well-spoken that it was very endearing.

Happy Thursday everyone! (waving). Every time I've tried to pop in an say hello I couldn't catch up with the thread before my phone rang. Well, our system just went down (database for recruiting), so I think that's Gawd telling me to talk to my team.

Lean and Green tonight again at a restaurant. Thinking this week might not be a huge WL week based on my scale peek. Partly I'm sure due to my ingestion of the "food that shall not be spoken of" with my egg beaters and two dinners out..

Question - do any of you bring food scales to restaurants?..

Sounds a bit like the mock apple crisp. I liked it without the hideous oatmeal crust. I may have to try this. The scallops and spinach - well, I'll take the scallops but have to leave the cooked spinach. I just can't eat spinach any way but raw...

I've asked some waitstaff if the kitchen has a scale. Most do, for proper portioning on their ($) end. I was SHOCKED to learn that a "healthy" chicken dish I once ordered had 12 oz. of chicken breast!.

So long as you present it as a DIETARY REQUIREMENT, just like any other, it usually gets done without a second thought. People place special orders all the time. Think gluten allergies, nut allergies, diabetics.....

I make what I call 'Spana-quiche' with frozen spinach - modeled after spanakopita. 2 cups Egg Beaters, (1Lean), 1/2 & 1/2 cottager cheese and feta (LF or FF varieties) - amount depends on what 'flavor you're using (1 meatless option Lean), and however much spinach (make sure you know how many green's this counts for. A whole bag of frozen makes it pretty filling and is usually about 2 greens). Mix altogether with a little pepper and parsley (condiment). Pour into 9x9 pan sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes.



Endless variations to this OP quiche with various cheeses & veggies. Really quick, filling and Yummy! I'm all for anything that gives me leftovers for the next day. I've become the Queen of Quick cuz I have a long commute (get home after 7) and hubby likes to be fed before bedtime - sheesh!..

That sounds delicious, Jan! I'm trying to eat more spinach to get my potassium back up to acceptable levels. I take a multivitamin at night to supplement it now. I haven't had a leg cramp since I started doing this. Remember how I was plagued with those awful night time leg and foot cramps?..

So, some woman at the gym told me she though I only weighed like 130 and I didnt need to lose any more weight. ***? I corrected her and told her I needed to lose about 30 more lbs and I weighed close to 180! She about passed out. I really have a hard time believing I look that small. Ok just finished reading the thread whew. Now I can't remember half the things I was gonna comment on lol. But heres what I remember, Chatty hope you get home safe, Penny Ms O totally killed the Discovery health channel. I got into a huge debate about this with my sil to be since she's an O fan. Jan the spinach dish sounds good are you talking about the frozen chopped spinach that comes in a box? I'm going to Walmart and plan to buy the ingredients for this. As for me Today is the last day of trying new goodies in my Medifast box.

I might be alittle crazy about how I order. Tomorrow I'm just gonna throw them all in the box sans boxes and it will be a treasure hunt for every meal. Now that I'm blind I'm strangely amused that every time I grab something it's a mystery as to what it is until I open it. It's Christmas everyday for this blindy what what..

If you use the frozen boxed ones, you'll need at least 2 if not 3, depending on how spinachy vs eggy you want it. I like it both ways..

I have one of those over-the-door shoe storage units that is hanging on my pantry door. I cut out the front picture on the box, insert it into a shoe unit, put all the packets behind it and, voila - organized!..
