Quick question... Can Medifast Diet be used to put on weight aswell as lose it? Hoping for any answer or 2. Another question... Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstenance from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

Getting the banner:.

1. Copy the following text using your favorite method:.

2. Click on the "Edit Profile/Settings" link at the top of this page.

3. Click on the "Edit Signature" link on the left of the page.

4. Place your cursor in the "Edit Signature" area (looks like a mini version of Microsoft Word) and paste the text you copied using your favorite method.

5. Remove the two asterisks (*) from the text you just pasted.

6. Click "preview signature". You should now see the banner in the Preview area (above where you are editing)!!!.

7. Click the "Save Signature" button. If you do not, all this will have been for naught! So make SURE you save this after you are all set!.

Anyone is welcome to join, and if folks have additional ideas on how we can commit, I am happy to hear them!..

Ye, however you might wanna make sure and wait for another person here to confirm it as I am on the fence. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Medifast guys because they can give you an answer better...

Well, having initiated the festivities this morning, I think I'll drag myself out and go see what sweetness and light I can spread at work..

But I think I'll drink my coffee first. And maybe watch the news. Blech, work...

Thanks for the kick in the butt this morning, Corbs!.

In a couple of ways (threads...).

Just surprised it took so long..

( I know, Steph. I just like calling you Corbs)..

Morning all!.

I've been waiting to see someone up and stirring this morning. I've had WAYYYYY too much coffee and have to go drive on ice to get to werk.............YIKES!..

She's been thawing her knickers up there in Wisconsin.........oh wait a minute - VS doesn't sell those................

Either is fine. I've been Corbie for years - my first short story was published in an old horror mag that was called Palace Corbie..

I guess I was a little grouchy this morning...

Good morning, kiddos!.

I have a short morning here today. They're doing snow removal on my street and I hafta move the car by 8... I guess I better get in the shower. My husband and my neighbor already removed all of the snow from this side of our block anyway....

Another 100% OP day under my shrinking belt. I love going to bsleep at night with that victory feeling!.

See y'all at the office!..

I'm at the airport! Now just hope the flight is a go..

Tough-Love prayers & mojo much appreciated. I'm soooooo ready to get home. Poor ChattyBank is getting pretty low, thanks to packets, I didn't starve..

Thanks for starting us out, Corbie..

Did you ever figure out the exercise/cal/training?.

I want you very prolific folks to know that your banter has kept me entertained during my storm in Atlanta. Most of the time the computer would only let me read, not post. Weird, but probably for the best..

Okeydokey, gonna hit Starbucks, and throw in my cappa...

Safe home, Chatty. Spent my morning catching up on De's thread - needed a good laugh to start me on my way...not that I don't get them here, but falling on the floor on the other thread (and getting back up) counts as exercise. See y'all later - gotta get my bntt in gear.....

For the moment, I'm 5&1ing. When my daily mileage hits the limit, I've got a referral to a sports nutritionist for a consult. One thing at a time!.

Glad you made it through the snow unscathed!..

Good morning. Hopefully last day home sick. I really need to be feeling better soon..

Good morning ladies! Let's see if I can try this shout-out thing I keep seeing....

Way to knock it down in the other thread. I'm surprised it went on quite so long before someone came out and said "You're mean!!!".

Sympathies. Too early. I had to go up to work Tuesday for a meeting that was scheduled for 0645, only to find that my unit's "half" of the meeting wouldn't be until 0715. Luuuurvely. Well, that's an extra half an hour on the clock for me, anyway..

Dr. Tramp.

Be careful out there! We only got one night's worth of ice on Sunday, and it was gone by Monday afternoon. I'm still cringing to read about everyone else's dangerous roads..

Me too! I've even learned to kind of like that mild hunger that I go to bed with, because it means I didn't overeat or do nasty things to my body today. And every once in a while since I hit ketosis Monday, I'll just think "I'm gonna go burn some fat. Okay... done!" And the scale has been kind to me this week..

Get home safe! Looking forward to hearing more from you!.

I'm pretty sure that's my new favorite thread, ever. I'm glad there are others outside the "group" that have joined in on the fun and see it for what it is! Lighthearded, snarky fun, with the occasional smacking..

Adding my good thoughts for you to be better quick. This is a nasty time of year to be feeling nasty..

How'd I do!? Have I got the group concept down yet?..

I don't mind 6am meetings... except when they're the morning after an 11pm meeting. *sigh* Ahh the glory of working in a global corporation..

You guys are making me think I should hop on 5&1 just to join you all...

Morning all. Chatty, hope that plane leaves the ground today and you make it home safe..

So, I went over to hang out with 2 creative writers last night. The one I recently met at the gym and the other I never met. THey were drinking wine and eating chips and dip and I had tea. It was fun! I am very glad I went. I believe it was really good for me to get out. Noe for today.

My classes begin on tuesday and I haven't even prepared my course materials at all yet. Plus I have 2 shows I have to install here in the next couple of weeks that need more work. Ugh! I also need to hit the gym. I am still in bed btw...

Good morning my minions, cohorts, peeps, friends!.

While we may have only had one hater post on my thread, we've been getting snotty comments on another since it went up. Makes me laugh, especially because they are violating board rules by soliciting non Medifast food and being particularly nasty to those who try to get the word out that their pretzels are NOT OP. hehe. I've considered posting again, but can never stop laughing long enough. Probably for the best. Thanks for keeping those haters in line Steph.

Coffee has NOT kicked in yet so no way I'm going to attempt shout outs to everyone. I do hope Chatty makes it home safely. She has to so she can hop on a plane again in a couple weeks and come and see ME!.

Back when I'm more coherent...

But I like you incoherent. Just sayin'.

I did see in a past thread that neurotic minds are welcome here. Soooo, here I am...

I know, I'm such a slacker. Waving at everybody nice to see everybody and meet new peeps. I'm off to find a kitty avi......

Couldn't help it, De. Really. She must be hungry...

Meh Oh, wait! Maybe we shouldn't be posting these thoughts!.

I am FULLY aware you said this with a 100% sarcastic undertone, but here ya go!..

I know that this is Em's house, but I'm going to put forth a little Rogue wisdom here. Trust me, this comes from experience..

It is not really kosher to discuss other posters by name openly here or anywhere else on these boards unless they are participating in the conversation, regardless of whether or not this is "our" thread. It's still a public forum and I promise you, they ARE reading it. Keep your comments generic, sarcasm definitely allowed, but let's try to keep names and thread titles (except for mine anyway) out of the mix. Hope that makes sense..

OK. End of today's lesson on Medifast board etiquette. Recommence snark and joviality!.

ETA - SEE. Told ya so!..

Good advice, De. As A L W A Y S..

What's for lunch today, TuffLurvers? I've got some beefy beef stew in my Thermos and I've already had 2L of water... Off to the potty again!..

OH CARP!!!!.

Forgot to eat breakfast........ I'm going Penny!!..

I forgot to put the meat to thaw last night, so L&G won't be until dinner tonight. Tilapia. I finished off all the frozen broccoli. All the fresh/frozen veggies I have left is a bag of frozen cut leaf spinach with, frankly, I'm not sure why I bought and I think I will just toss! So it'll be salad with balsamic vinaigrette. I have 4 tilapia fillets, that should be good for 2 days of L&G, then it's off to Vegas, then I'll be 2 chicken breasts and a bunch of veggie burgers away from having a clean freezer. *laughs* I realized I've had entire days where I haven't left the house until I go out with DH in the evenings this last week, because I'm actually working through all this food I've been holding hostage instead of going to the grocery store every other day to buy lettuce and string cheese!..

OMG! We have GOT to get Connorponner over here! She is killing me on the other thread...

Hi, Im joining because I agree! your first comment was awesome and just what I needed this morning!!!!..

'Cept Linda Blair!! Heard she had neck problems after that movie...

Welcome Stephanie. Had to run and look at which comment you were referring to! hehe..

MG - Not to mention OTHER problems.......

That movie scarred me for life. I was 10 when it came out and I didn't go upstairs alone until I was like 19...

Me, too. And in the great circle of karma, DD1 spent a year in the dorm at Fordham that was used in the film. Creeped me out. <shudder>.

Oh, and De, I only listen to a few of the voices in my head. Well, the ones that speak English anyway......

I have never even seen the movie all the way through, but what I did see scarred me as well, and that's saying something since my favorite author is Stephen King!..

I have just been enlightened by other Medifasters as to the shocking history of the R_ G _ _ _ discussion board group and to the past actions of certain MF'ers...and I just feel SORRY for them. And disgusted. It's absolutely astonishing how losing weight can make some gain a terrible attitude towards others. I've often wondered if they treat their family members the way they treat others on here...and sympathize with them as well. Or perhaps they just act this way on here, as to gain some sort of twisted sense of status? Whatever the case, I feel sorry for them and hope they gain some sensitivity someday, though that probably won't happen, judging by their past actions...

Something about a green chick with a spinning head... messed me up!..

Medifast should totally make pea soup, now that I think about it...

Eat and spew would be a new part of the plan?..

Kelsey - While this is a public forum, it is also a team thread. Best to keep your opinions to the De thread and off of this one. As I posted earlier it inappropriate for us to openly discuss other members on this thread, but it is also inappropriate for you to just pop in whenever you like to voice your opinions about things that have nothing to do with you personally. You were not around when the Rogues were, so who the heck are you to pass judgment? Please either join in the team discussion and chill out or stay away. If the harassment HERE continues, I will report you to MFS. You want to snark, do it on the other thread.

Show us the same courtesy...

No, that's part of an old, VERY different plan, MT! I rather like pea soup!..

Um, that's a different weight loss plan..

Ooops, I'm too slow. The point goes to Penny...

I'm so close to bringing the double face palm picture out. *sigh*..

<biting on knuckle> So many comment to make, but methinks I'd get banned.......

Can I share a recipe? I love this I havent named it yet!.

8 oz. part-skim ricotta cheese (no healthy fat needed this day).

2 packets Splenda (counts as 2 condiments).

1 cups zucchini or yellow squash ribbons.

Tsp. cinnamon (counts as 1 condiment).

Mix one packet of Splenda into ricotta. Place in fridge. Spray a skillet with Pam and cook squash until soft. Sprinkle with other packet of Splenda and cinnamon and mix well. Serve with chilled ricotta...

This one is really good, too....

Popeye Scallop Soup.

1 12-oz. bag frozen scallops (cooks down to 7 oz).

3 cups baby spinach leaves.

2 tsp good olive oil (1 healthy fat).

In covered skillet, combine all ingredients and cook over low heat until scallops are cooked through. This entire meal is ONE Lean and Green meal...

Interesting combo. Not a squash person, but this does look interesting...

Totally off topic here, but yesterday I was half-watching TV/half-talking with you all, and the lady we can't mention whose name starts with an O and she ruined Discovery Health's show came on. Her guest was Ricky Martin. I remember him being the butt of a lot of jokes, no pu... never mind. He was promoting his new book and it actually looked really good. I hafta just say that he was so honest and open and well-spoken that it was very endearing.

Even if I never had a chance...

Cooked down with splenda and cinnamon, it's VERY close to apple-y. Whenever I make this, I have to make A LOT because Marc and Emma tear it up...

OMG, between the De thread and this one I cannot keep up fast enough to post a response!.

I was offended by some of the De comments and posted on the De thread, so I will refrain from posting them here..

Happy Thursday everyone! (waving). Every time I've tried to pop in an say hello I couldn't catch up with the thread before my phone rang. Well, our system just went down (database for recruiting), so I think that's Gawd telling me to talk to my team.

Lean and Green tonight again at a restaurant. Thinking this week might not be a huge WL week based on my scale peek. Partly I'm sure due to my ingestion of the "food that shall not be spoken of" with my egg beaters and two dinners out..

Question - do any of you bring food scales to restaurants?..

Sounds a bit like the mock apple crisp. I liked it without the hideous oatmeal crust. I may have to try this. The scallops and spinach - well, I'll take the scallops but have to leave the cooked spinach. I just can't eat spinach any way but raw...

Em - Hope you weren't offended by MY comments!..

Miraculously, De, you have NEVER offended me. I just don't understand how you get under so many other people's skin. Smooches!..

Em, I have a small portable scale I bring to restaurants...

I'm truly amazed what with all the horrible things I've done to others!..

Thanks MT - I need to look into that. Can't just weigh at home!!!..

I am too..

Oh wait, that seems to apply to me too, doesn't it?..

It wasn't you, it was the sniper kitty! You're just getting blamed is all...

That was my thought. Got a cute little one from amazon. If you want the link, let me know...

I've asked some waitstaff if the kitchen has a scale. Most do, for proper portioning on their ($) end. I was SHOCKED to learn that a "healthy" chicken dish I once ordered had 12 oz. of chicken breast!.

So long as you present it as a DIETARY REQUIREMENT, just like any other, it usually gets done without a second thought. People place special orders all the time. Think gluten allergies, nut allergies, diabetics.....

Mmmmmmm... beefy beef stew all gone. <licking lips and wishing tongue reached all the way into bottom of thermos>..

Good call Penny! Will try that tonight and let you know how it goes. Typically, I just order whitefish since I know I get the largest portion of that, but I hate "eyeballing" anything...

I'm caught up until lunch now. Just finished off some hot cocoa. Still a little off schedule, but totally doable...

I just ordered two pairs of the pants I'm wearing now, only smaller, and got them at 75% off! WOOT!..

I make what I call 'Spana-quiche' with frozen spinach - modeled after spanakopita. 2 cups Egg Beaters, (1Lean), 1/2 & 1/2 cottager cheese and feta (LF or FF varieties) - amount depends on what 'flavor you're using (1 meatless option Lean), and however much spinach (make sure you know how many green's this counts for. A whole bag of frozen makes it pretty filling and is usually about 2 greens). Mix altogether with a little pepper and parsley (condiment). Pour into 9x9 pan sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes.

Endless variations to this OP quiche with various cheeses & veggies. Really quick, filling and Yummy! I'm all for anything that gives me leftovers for the next day. I've become the Queen of Quick cuz I have a long commute (get home after 7) and hubby likes to be fed before bedtime - sheesh!..

Jan, thanks for that! I may have to try itlater on. That will require shopping!.

No shopping until after Vegas (except for today's lettuceONLY exception)...

That sounds delicious, Jan! I'm trying to eat more spinach to get my potassium back up to acceptable levels. I take a multivitamin at night to supplement it now. I haven't had a leg cramp since I started doing this. Remember how I was plagued with those awful night time leg and foot cramps?..

Penny-Your ricotta and zuchinni sounds good. I love both..

OMG OMG OMG...just found the "view first unread" button at the top of the thread. This has been one heck of a learning week!!.

That recipie sounds deeelish....definitely going into the rotation...

Thanks De: That was from our trip to Jamaica in December.......

So, some woman at the gym told me she though I only weighed like 130 and I didnt need to lose any more weight. ***? I corrected her and told her I needed to lose about 30 more lbs and I weighed close to 180! She about passed out. I really have a hard time believing I look that small. But I guess I will take that as a NSV!..

Why in the world is w t f censored????..

Ok just finished reading the thread whew. Now I can't remember half the things I was gonna comment on lol. But heres what I remember, Chatty hope you get home safe, Penny Ms O totally killed the Discovery health channel. I got into a huge debate about this with my sil to be since she's an O fan. Jan the spinach dish sounds good are you talking about the frozen chopped spinach that comes in a box? I'm going to Walmart and plan to buy the ingredients for this. As for me Today is the last day of trying new goodies in my Medifast box.

I might be alittle crazy about how I order. Tomorrow I'm just gonna throw them all in the box sans boxes and it will be a treasure hunt for every meal. Now that I'm blind I'm strangely amused that every time I grab something it's a mystery as to what it is until I open it. It's Christmas everyday for this blindy what what..

How do you quote someones post?.

Thanks MT- I might have to print and frame the above quote. I am having fun buying stylish clothes and investing in good haircuts now..

Marilee-Great NSV..

Hit the quote button on the bottom right side of their post...

So I still cannot do bars........Still just a trigger to eat the whole box in one sitting. Even the oatmeal raisin ones. I thought I would outgrow that but I guess not...

If you use the frozen boxed ones, you'll need at least 2 if not 3, depending on how spinachy vs eggy you want it. I like it both ways..

I have one of those over-the-door shoe storage units that is hanging on my pantry door. I cut out the front picture on the box, insert it into a shoe unit, put all the packets behind it and, voila - organized!..

I just found you guys and am going back to read all the pages (as the grandchildren allow). Just seeing Corbie starting this and reading her first post was enough for me to know I want to be a part of this community..

It is naptime for the youngest grandbaby so I'm going to take advantage of the lull in the madness and do some speed reading...
