Quick question: Deploying from Visual Studio 2008 to iPage web host running Windows 2008 and II7? Thanks for any answer. Another question I got... I am having a problem with the download controller. When I enable download and set download by redirect to false and the file is smaller than 2 MB, it works perfectly. When I go for a file over 2mb the download sits and will not download. When I try download by redirect for any filesize I get a 404..

The iPage hosting company is using unix and they say they do not have a download by php limit set..

What else could be causing this?..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably know..

Safemode restrictions prevent dl by redirect. the file size thing is new to me...

Actually, it is probably a php.ini thing..

Check your config..by default it usually limits it to 2MB. We chased this for a while until finally figuring it out..

You may or may not have access to your domain's php.ini file, or you may just have one for the whole server...

The server had an upload restriction which they increased for me but they say there seems to be no download restiction they can find. Safemode restriction sounds interesting, I would like to see "dangermode" implemented to see what happens...

Ask your server admin to turn off safemode on your iPage site - redirects will work then - am almost certain..

Thanks, I have done that this morning..

I will see if that works.....

I get an error message for all downloads by redirect regardless of file size...

Forbidden.

You don't have permission to access /catalog/pub/.izyesjigeejexxyq/withyou.zip on this server..

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request...

Are the permissions on the pub folder set to 777?..

Of course, they were set at install..

I appreciate the thought process, I have checked permissions a few times myself..

If I can get this to work I will give some free music downloads away.......

You can use the server info, via the admin/tools section to see if in fact your php.ini file has been set to an increased size beyond 2 mb. open server info and search for the size of the download..

I have looked for that but all I see is the upload limit..

Any particular spot I should look at...

Still can't fix this..

Does any one have download working beyond 2 MB..

Your host most likely has the download limited, you will need to either work with your host on the size limitation, break the download up into smaller pieces or find another host where you can change the settings..

If you need a file larger, I can setup one so you can see it works, however I have done this before many times for others and I know it works..

Thanks for that I will look for another host for this iPage site or at least threaten my host with that consideration..

What is it the host needs to do specifically as they are willing to fix the problem but seem unable to find the solution?..
