First question I got is Does anyone have any good paella Medifast recipes? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. Another question... "If you buy me a cheeseburger today,i will gladly pay you Tuesday". These thoughts ran thu my mind as I pondered my next move. I have gone thru the pre- diet, stages I, II , III and have now reached IV. My nutritionist and doc have told me to experiment with some new foods, add some raw vegies and some fruit.

What it all boiled down to was the age old question,"Wheres the beef"??? I answerd that question with an In &Out Burger, Protein style ,no spread, animal style.

I ate most of the meat , some lettus and part of the tomatoe, no problems..

Having tollerated the beef and raw veggies internaly,with my pouch, my mind is quite another thing. I feel wimpy now that I did it. Did I fail myself? Am I falling back to bad habits? It's just 1 burger ,but is that how it starts?..

The answer is Yes, but you might wanna make sure and wait for another member to confirm my answer as I am not very confident. Better yet, why don't you call the Medifast guys because they can answer your Medifast question better...

I eat beef, but try to make sure it is not real fatty. I can't eat chicken every meal, just can't do it. I've had a small lean steak and it tasted great. I eat lean ground round and I've had cubed steak too. I like variety so I eat beef, pork, chicken, turkey and tuna. I can't cook fish so really the only fish I eat is tuna.

Buy a lean ground round at the store and make a patty at home with onions and tomatoes, etc. Nothing wrong with that...

Phase 4 - you can have ground beef. I was always a big beef eater before. Ground beef is my friend whether it's a cheese burger (homemade of course(, spaghetti sauce, etc. The burger - dog gets have the bun. Fast Medifast food too much salt and too greasy or so my pouch/tummy says..

When I first was able to have ground beef I would just have 1/4 - 1/2 burger size - dog got other 1/2 only because hubby couldn't understand at times why I couldn't eat the whole thing like he did. Just take it slow and listen to your pouch/tummy..

You are concious of your Medifast food intake and have been following certain Medifast food restrictions. I know that phase 4 (in my program) is the one to follow the rest of your life. I felt the same way at first - kind of like an injured animal who has been healed being set free to fend for itself. Just keep within the guidelines and you'll do fine. Its okay to "treat yourself" every once in a while as long as your pouch/tummy allows it. You'll be surprised how much of the "old food" you will really not want anymore for it just doesn't "taste right". For example I can't stand pizza, cake, cookies or chips anymore just to name a few...

No way. I eat mostly meat now, I see nothing at all wrong with it. You at least did your best to make it a healthy choice, and that's what this is all about, right? Good job..

We are all humans and we have the right to fall. If you make this a habit of going there to get something to eat all the time then that's a different issue but it was only once and you made some healthy alternatives. I personally don't feel that this makes you a "wimp". This route that we have taken simply provides us with a tool and it is up to us to use this tool to the best of our capabilities. You have to be in tune with your body as well. If you feel that this is a trigger Medifast food for you then of course eliminate it.

So many places now a day have their information accessible to their consumers. This gives me an idea as to how much protein, fats, carbs, calories I am consuming..

I actually went to Buona Beef (my first Medifast food outing) and I had a salmon ciabatta. I did exactly what you did. I did not eat the bread, I ate only the salmon, black olives, lettuce, and tomatoe. No dressings, mayo, or anything..

I dont feel guilty about it b/c I know this is not a standard practice for me (to be eating out) but Im also aware that I am capable of making healthy decisions..

Trust yourself, your choices, and know what triggers you..
