The answer is Yes, however you might wanna make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm my answer as I am not sure. Better yet, why don't you contact the iPage guys because they can give you help better...
Would all the products be available as individual line items for modification of individual quantities?..
I guess my idea of bundled products means that you get whats in products are in the bundle. i.e. Each bundled product item created would be pre-bundled with a certain quantity of each of the products included in the bundle..
The issue of bundling products on-the-fly have come up once in while for the last two years... some posts appear in the archives too..
The problem is how to handle a product that is actually not in stock..
Item A + item B = Set AB.
You have 10 each of Item A and Item B, but you really don't have 10 of Set AB. You have zero. To increase the quantity of Set AB, you must decrease respective quantities of Item A and Item B..
Total Item A = 10.
Total Item B = 10.
+ Total Set AB = 0.
Total Pieces = 20.
Total Sellable Items = 20.
Total Item A = 5.
Total Item B = 5.
+ Total Set AB = 5.
Total Pieces = 20.
Total Sellable Items = 15.
Currently pre-bundling looks like the only way to assure the correct amount of items available through the web interface of osCommerce..
Actually, pre-bundling solves a lot of accounting problems by eliminating some bad scenarios; like partial cancellation. And bundles are usually a time limited offer - if you run out of bundles, customers understand they have to pay more for each seperate piece until your store feels like having another special sale..
...but it would be really cool if osCommerce could do bundles on-the-fly with inventory check (to see if all pieces of the bundles are in stock), cascading discount rules(to see if there are more than one bundle combination in the cart), and seperate invoice and shipping slip (where one bundle shows up on the invoice but all the pieces show up on the shipping slip)...
If I buy a "bundle" from a store, it is a separate catalog item, with it's own price and it's own inventory and it's own listing on the invoice. If you ALSO offer the items individually, I would expect to be able to order them individually, not anywhere near the bundle page..
If you want to group items together in a category and give customers the option of ordering separately, but all at once, there is a contribution for adding multiple purchases to the cart at once, a search on the contrib forum would turn that topic up and the threads you would need to read to get it to work the way you want..
If you want to through special discounts on top of that , then you need the Quantity Controller Contrib that is currently be updated for MS1 and is promised any day now.
I suggest a search of the Contributions Forum..
Thats exactly what I want but don't need the discount bit - so you suggest I look for what in the contribs?.
Is there a way where I can bundle up a few products and offer it as a product - this actually contains products within it. e.g..
Vitamins - the over 40 bundle - 1 multivitamin, 2 vitamin c, 2 minerals, etc.
This then goes automativally to shopping cart as multivitamin, quantity1, vitamin c quantity 2 but all the buyer had to do was select the bundled item and he gets the products that belong to that bundle put into the cart..
Is that possible?.
You could create a new product and "bundle" all of the products you want within this new product..
