That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..
Here it is, again, any help is very much appreciated!.
Would be more typical values. You could also set the COOKIE_PATHs to '/' instead. Doubt that this is causing your problem though. Why are you getting relative links? osCommerce fully qualifies the links in the tep_href_link function. Did you change something?.
A month ago, I tried changing the "/"s around like you indicate. For some inexplicable reason, I had problems galore with relative links, so I changed it back..
(ie. the links were all.
They were all appending incorrectly, even in admin. When I changed the "/" back to how I have it now, it worked fine..
As for the relative links, I have no idea why that is the way it is. Certainly, I've made changes to Osc, but none that I can remember that had to do with that...
I'm not sure what ipower is, actually. I'm pretty new to this all (quite proud of my progress), so I'm don't know what you're referring to..
The good news, however, is that I found the solution to part of the problem here:.
It involved making some changes to my html_output.php file..
It fixed all the NON SSL links, but not the SSL ones, just like the post says it will:.
So, now I'm just not sure how to fix the HTTPS url's referenced from the page. Anyone have any advice there?.

I thought my problem was solved, but apparently not..
All my links are showing as relative on the spider simulators, but relative to whatever url is the base url..
For example, if you enter.
Into the spider simulator, then all the http relative links come back correct, as in.
BUT - If you then enter a url to a page that is NOT directly in the catalog main directory, such as.
, then all the links are relative to that one, which is WRONG!!!! They will look like this:.
What the heck is going on???? Spiders will only get valid links as long as they stay right in /catalog/..
If anyone can help, I would SOOOOO appreciate it......
Allprods.php/page/2 is an SEF URL. I.e. you have admin > Configuration > My Store > SEF URLs (still in development) turned to true. I would turn it to false..
First, I want to thank you for responding, but I have a question..
Considering SEO, will it be allright to leave the SEF URL's off? Will the iPage site still be spidered ok? I've tried searching the forums for this, but there are SOOOO many different opinions......
Turning the SEF URL's off definately fixed the problem on the simulator, but my categories box doesn't work at all when I do that. I have the Categories Enhancement mod installed, but even when I tested it by removing the mod entirely, and uploading the original backup categories.php, the box did not work at all as long as SEF URL's are set to false..
So, I'm a little further along. I have it set to true for now, until I figure out why the categories box is not working..
Any ideas, anyone?.
Yes, SEF urls are no longer necessary, as all major search engines now index dynamic urls...
Excellent. Thank you, now if I could just find out why the categories box won't work with Search Engine Safe set to false..
Anyone run into this problem? I've already posted elsewhere regarding it, and done numerous searches. It seems most people have problems with it set to true, and I have problems the other way around! Argh.....
I have a comment about turning off the SES urls. If you have had your SES urls set to true, then all the indexing was done with this path (.
) or with (.
). When you turn off the SES urls, the product info link will give you product not found, and the cpath will just go to your home page. The product info link could drive away customers......
Anyone know how to go about fixing this? Any such code to reverse the incoming path? Instead of converting the ?,= to /, convert the / to either ? or = ??..
While trying to remove session id's from my spider sessions, I tested my iPage site using Webconf's spider simulator..
To my horror, all my links come back as incorrect, but the problem has nothing to do with the OSC session ids..
This is just a sampling of what I get back:.
All the links are doubling up on the '/catalog/' portion. The iPage website works great as the links are relative, but it sure won't for any spiders..
Can someone please help or offer advice on this? I suspect the problem lies in my configuration.php file, but I'm not sure..
Post the top portion of your configure.php file (no DB or FS defines)..
