That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could assist you..
On the keukenlust iPage site the shop is also to present details on the in-store promotions for home appliances. At this point we do not plan to ship any of the freezers, fridges, washing machines etc but would want to show a specific message saying that it is store pickup, free delivery in the area but that the customer has to make specific arrangements for delivery outside the specific geographical area serviced by the shop. Similarly on bruyndoncx.be, we don't ship bathrooms, but we do want to put the promotions up on the web..
Yeah, that also looked the most promising to me, though I didn't read through the thread yet..
I guess I'm gonna end up with a flag to include a specific message on the product info page, and to disallow specific shipping methods besides the store pickup..
I don't think it's terribly difficult, it's just that I haven't touched upon shipping modules yet. Always a first..
Than these may come in handy:.
Pickup.php: ([NL] is nu => afhalen).
Download and change the wording so that "Locals" see => Gratis levering in ....
Download and adapt, that one is an already hacked pickup module.
B/ has more possibilities but A/ has tax possibility which B/ doesn't have,.
So that must be added...
Thanks for the pointers, the at forum in particular I didn't think about checking earlier..
I do have a COD+COP module already installed that does the basics, I might change as these look better, but the real issue is how do I tell the system to only use the local delivery method, or better disallow the other shipping methods for a particular product or group of products..
I was just thinking if perhaps I could use the tax class and set it up as a seperate tax class and then check this info in the product_info page to display a message and in the different shipping modules that I installed to see if the shipping method is supporting the particular products tax class..
As the tax class is already in the easypopulate import table, I could upload products and have them immediately classified correctly (without having to worry about entering a fake weight).
What do you think ?
Me, always trying to stick to the KISS principle.
What if you classify some products as follows?.
This contribution is intended to hide the price and purchase button from the catalog if no price has been entered, instead of showing a price of $0.00..
This may be of use if you want some items to be informational items only, such as services or to use your shop as a catalog only..
Or another one:.
This module allows you to choose in the admin menu if a product is sold or not..
It's particularly useful for real estate web site..
If you selected 'sold' for a product in the admin, then it display an icon 'sold' in front of the product in the product_listing.php and product_info.php pages and the buttons 'in_cart' and 'buy_now' are not displayed..
It is different of the 'status' option because the product is still displayed even if it's sold..
Haven't seen actually what it does or how, but you could mis-use the reworked icon maybe?..
A ) use the store pick up contribution.
B ) edit the categories.php file to have two buttons, regular shipping and store pick up only, save in products table.
C ) edit the shipping class to check this and use store pick up module only if set for any product in the cart else use regular shipping,.
This should be about 2 - 3 hours work tops for someone who knows what they are doing......
This will not separate the order into two different shipping options if there are multiple items, but if they are going there anyways...well givce all of the product to them....

Thanks guys, I got enough inspiration now to get this solved, just need a little time.
Some items in the store can not be shipped to the consumers. At this point the solution has been to make the shipping charges prohibitive but I was wondering if there is a more elegant solution that would already show that the product is only local delivery/store pickup..
Has anybody yet figured out the required changes, is there a contribution that does this or comes close ? .
Thanks for any insights.
"cannot be shipped" , care to elaborate (considering yr present shop)?.
I remembered someone with a problem with mice => (mail?) or elephants => pick-up.
This is a thread I found at that time:.
Although not the solution it seems to be a promisisng starting point..
