But this problem occurs occasionally, even for customers who pay by credit card (we use 2CO). I believe that 2CO has been configured to automatically return to our iPage site after payment has been made..
Does anyone know what would cause this?.

I am having the same problem with my site...except we use authorize.net only. I am not able to view any orders at all but yet will receive email fonfirmations...can anyone help?..
Hi, I wanted know what the return url should be, both 2checkout and Paypal have a place to enter the return URL..
Should it just be the shop URL?.

We're having the same problems. I was wondering, what/where is this recover cart button? I didn't see anything like that under the tools menu???.
And, is that the only way to find these lost orders?.
I had the same problem yesterday, my solution - installed 2 contributions (both very easy):.
1) Recover Cart Sales tool:.
This allows you to see the abandoned carts and contact the shopper.
2) Held orders:.
This captures the orders before the customer goes to the payment processor site..
This will prevent the problem from happening again.
I'm going to install these today..
Hi, we are set up to accept 2CO and Paypal. We received a few order payments via 2CO, however the orders themselves are not showing up in the OSC order history (nor did we receive the order e-mail through OSC). These orders do, however, show up on the "recover cart" page within the tools menu in admin..
Since recover carts only displays info relating to abandoned sales, I'm wondering how we got paid for them in the first place. I contacted these customers and they confirmed that they placed the orders and did not intend to cancel them. If we were paid, the customers must have completed all steps of the checkout process, right?.
Anyone have this problem before?..
We experienced the same thing (using both CardService and PayPal). It turns out that once the user leaves the iPage site for payment reg/authentication), the cart is only logged in the cache until the user is returned to checkout success..
If the user PROPERLY RETURNS from PayPal (hitting the button at the bottom of the PayPal final screen to COMPLETE ORDER), then it returns the user to checkout success and the order table is updated..
IF THEY DON'T hit the button ("COMPLETE ORDER" I think), then the order tables is not updated (dropped carts) and while you will receive an e-mail from PayPal, your OSC install wont know it happened..
We've chosen to add some text in BRIGHT RED on the last OSC checkout page reading "When using PayPal, Please be sure to click the COMPLETE ORDER button for prompt processing,.
And you will be brought back back to our iPage site for confirmation and receipt."..
There are still dropped carts, but not nearly as many..
