Got a quick question: Has anyone used iPage to start a website? Many thanks for any response. My 2nd question... Hi,.

When I try to create and account for my OSC store I get the following error:.

Yet the account is created with no other problems. I'm using a Windows server and smtp mail. From what I've read it seems to be an issue with php.ini..

Where exactly can I find php.ini on my server? Or better yet, has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? If so, how?.

Thanks for taking the time to read/respond..

Sean..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

I have tried setting it up for smtp and sendmail. These are my current settings that I get this error with:.

E-Mail Transport Method:.

Smtp.

E-Mail Linefeeds:.

LF.

Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails:.

True.

Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS:.

False.

Send E-Mails:.

True.

Thanks for reading/replying.

This may be a result of the smtp server configuration. For example, most ISPs (fortunately) do not allow SMTP relaying and php doesn't have a built-in authentication mechanism for smtp mail. In such a case, you'd have to use something like this.

Class:.

Try this contribution for smtp using authentication:.

SMTP w/ Authentication..

Php.ini is usually in %systemroot%.

Have you tried configuring e-mail for smtp instead of sendmail? (found in admin, configuration, e-mail options)..
