I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could assist you..
Thanks for your speedy reply. I used your reset admin contribution and cleared the current user and password. Went back to login.php and was offered the ability to create and new user and password. I did so and then tried to login again using new details but sure enough the same thing happened. just refreshed the login.php page as if I hadn't even hit the login button..
Further help please..
Is your configre.php set correctly for the cookie settings?.
I haven't changed anything in configure.php so it should be still the standard from download..
How do I check if it is set correctly for the cookie settings?.
It will be in your configure.php settings.
Admin / includes / configure.php.
The plot thickens I have just put the same setup on another server and it works. Unfortunately I need it working on the original server. Both servers are running the same version of php and so on. So the question is what server settings could be causing this sort of problem..
Sorry to trouble you but I'm having no luck with your reset mod..
I keep getting this message:.
Error: Invalid administrator login attempt..
And it doesn't give me the opportunity to reset either..
Can you use phpmyadmin?.
If so run this SQL.
TRUNCATE TABLE `administrators..
Ok, I'll try now.
Thanks so much for your help...
I ran the query as usual and I got this rather strange error message:.
You probably tried to upload too large file. Please refer to documentation for ways to workaround this limit..
I have to be honest, it's not the 1dt time I've got this message when runing a query. Do you have any idea why I may be getting this message??.
Ah, and I still can't log in....nightmare..
Thanks for your time.
Why are you uploading it?.
Or are you not ?!!.
Whats your URL Terry? PM it me if you dont want it on here, I will reply here tho..
You are using milestone 2.2 by the look of it, it's why the reset.php would not work..
It uses a different log in method..
You will need to change your password located in the .htpasswrd file in your top level directory ( Not public_html (htdocs) ) the one above that,.
You might need to use your web based control panel to see it, some do some dont..
Your password needs to be encyrpted you can do that here.
As you said about your hosts, you might want to consider either upgrading to the later version or installing the contribution for allowing 2.2 milestone to have the same log in as 2RC2 version.
Thankyou so much for your help - I'll let you know how it goes..
Mannnnnn....You saved my life!!.
Gold star, seriously..
OK Guys still no luck..
I have two servers both running apache 2.2.8 php 5.2.5 and mySQL 5.0.51a-community.
I have downloaded oscommerce 2.2rc2a extracted it and uploaded the catalog directory to both servers and followed the /install procedure for both servers. the procedure is done exactly the same on both servers but with different server details obviously and one server doesn't have ssl setup so it has cross next to that instead of a tick. Once the setup is finished I go to the admin section and login on one server it goes straight into the admin section no problem on the other server it just refreshes the login.php page and doesn't report incorrect password it is just as if I directed straight to it..
Why would this be happening on one server and not the other if they both are fresh installs and both running the same setup..
I have looked around and found similiar reports of this sort of problem but they wer on the 2.2mc2 build and was apparently fixed using the r1107 fix in the session.php but doesn't seem to apply to the rc2a build..
Thanks in advance.
