Use the Nutrisystem plan to retrain yourself in proper eating. Pay attention to what works and they learn why that works so you can replicate it in a "real world" setting - like at a restaurant. If you're going to eating "lots" of anything - fresh veggies is a good choice. Log everything you eat. I'm also a big fan of measuring all the big ticket items I eat (protein and fats) I eat but lots of people here don't agree with me on that - they believe that they can accurately determine the weight of stuff using the naked eye.
