First question I got is How can I check out a iPage web hosting service? Looking forward for any response. Another question I got... This is my first post ever here...and just to get the ball rolling...i was wondering about the code with the favorite icon. I already have the code that is <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico"> and my image that is on my server is called favicon.ico but it isn't showing up in the address bar and isn't showing up in my favorites...i was wondering if there is something I am doing wrong or if I need to do something else? Is this the right code or is it wrong?..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I got an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..

If you have the iPage site already bookmarked then add your favicon to the dir. It will not show up. You need to delete the bookmark then re-bookmark it for it to show up. Hope your problem is as simple as that...

Thanks for the help, but that wasn't my problem...i think I might need to resize it...i'll give you an update if that works..

I resized my image from 37h37w to a 32h32w. Then I uploaded it to my iPage site and kept the code the same but it still didn't work, what am I doing wrong?..

Your icon is only allowed to be 16x16 pixels. Anything.

Bigger or smaller will not be shown in the address bar..

For more information you can visit the Microsoft developer.

Center at:.

Hope this will help..

Good luck!.

I changed my icon to 16x16 like it says and even copied the code that they had and inserted it where they had it and still no luck in it being shown, do I need to change it to 256 colors or something? or something stupid that I missed?..

I don't know if this is what is causing your problem but.

Have you written the full url?.

The link to our iPage site is.

And the link to the icon is.

Check out the code and reply..

Are you using netscape? or a an old IE browser..

Favorites as the MSDN article describes, will only work.

With Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and above..

Extract this zip and upload this icon to your server..

Lets see if this will do the trick..

I'm back...i'm using IE not netscape(never) and my IE is 5.5. I'll extract your icon and tell you what happens..

Hey thanks alot man...I just noticed when I opened the zip and I got the .ico you had, in the folder it shows what the .ico was. When I made mine, it didn't show the grapic when I made it the .ico, why is that? Do you have an icon maker or something? Anyway thanks...and I have another question...the icon shows up when I put my iPage site in my favorites but it doesn't show up in the address bar, is there a seperate code for that?..

Scratch that out...i just went to my iPage site and it showed up in the address bar...but I was still wondering why it worked with you, do you have a program?..

I'm using D & D Wilden software, but there are a lot.

Of icon tools out there that will help you to build the.

Proper icon format. Do a search on google for "icon.

Software" and I'm sure something good will turn up..

I'm happy we figured it out together.

So am I, thanks..

I have been trying to figure this thing out seems I was so close but not close enough. Thanks again..

All you had to do was visit.

And find out there...

I have another question...Why is it for every iPage site that is put in my favorites (including my site), their .ico goes away and turns back into the IE symbol?..

If my iPage site was up and runing, that favorite icon would be the lat of my worries. sometimes those things happen. I bet after you visit the iPage site agin it changes, but don't hold that against me...
