That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

You will need to edit the english file that contains that sentence and delete "welcome".

Then you will need to go to the file in the root and edit it to put an image there before the text is called!.

<?php echo tep_customer_greeting(); ?>.

Insert the image call before tep_customer_greeting();.

I don't know the exact code I would have to work it out.

Thats the code on the index.php file that calls that line of text..

Echo prints the next call out "tep_....:.

You need it to say echo tep_image ("welcome_banner.jpg")tep_...; or something like that! not 100% that will work.

Well I just deleted this line:.

<td class="main"><?php echo tep_customer_greeting(); ?></td>.

And now it's gone!!! That's exactly what I wanted. But... How do you leave it in the code and ""comment it out" so it won't show up on the site??.

Thanks..

Im heading home it takes about 1.5 hrs I will check this page when I get in. Damn DC traffic!!!!.

My wording may not be right I did it from memory. look up how an image is called elsewhere and I forgot the "" in the () that turns the call for the jpg to a string so it can find it and not think it is a variable..

Good luck.

EDIT.

Comment code.

<? // code ?>.

The // are comment.

Hi,.

Which file do I modify? I do not see this.

<td class="main"><?php echo tep_customer_greeting(); ?></td>.

In any files..

I have looked in index.php under the english directory..

Thanks in advance for any help..

Ophelia.

The line to which you mention is in catalog/index.php you can comment the greeting out with.

<td class="main"><?php // echo tep_customer_greeting(); ?></td>.

Or if you want an image then use.

<td class="main"><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES'image name here', 'image alt tag name here')tep_customer_greeting(); ?></td>.

Then place the image in the catalog/images/ directory and change the greeting message in catalog/includes/languages/english.php.

I thinks it in the catalog/includes/language/english/index.php or catalog/includes/language/english.php. Sorry but I can't remember which, I deleted it completly..

Thank you smokey and 241,.

That was alot of code to look through....you saved me a lot of time..

I ended up finding the source of the "welcome guest" text and replacing it with a nice, simple and small "Log In" set off to the top right...looks good!.

In case anyone would like to know, the greeting texts are located in.

Catalog>includes>languages>english.php.

Lines 284-6.

Thanks.
