I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..
Can anyone export their countries table to a sql file that I can import into my database? I deleted all of the other countries because originally I was not going to ship outside the US. Now I am, and don't have a backup of this table..
I was able to use the original install sql file to do this. thanks..
This is a great idea. Much better than scrolling through 200+ countries..
But how do you set the default country? In the create_account.phph file or elsewhere?..
I am also searching for where the default country is set..
Wiki documentation really holds lots and lots of answers.. search works well,.
Open catalog/includes/functions/html_output.php and find the following line about line 289:.
$countries_array = array(array('id' => '', 'text' => PULL_DOWN_DEFAULT));.
$countries_array = array(array('id' => '223', 'text' => 'United States'));..
Thx for the help... I am very much a newbie, I did search the forum but knew nothing about "wiki" I will look for answers there in the future. Thanks!..
This solves part of my problem but the states are not showing up in the drop down menue until the page is submitted once and they have already typed it in and hit continue. Then they get an error message saying you have to chose a state from the drop down menue so they have to do that and then reenter their password info. I have done some searches and have not been able to find anything.
The US dropdown was VERY handy, thanks John..
I exhausted all options in Wiki docs, does anyone have a solution to the State dropdown issue. Not to rehash what others have said but when a customer visits the new account creation, they type in two initials for State (US) and then click continue. The iPage site returns an error and THEN provides the customer a drop-down..
Can we trick iPage site to believe all customers signing up are 1) US and 2) worthy of a state drop down selection right from the beginning..
Some would say this problem should be hired out....we are looking for that person..
Don't know if you are still having this problem, but this thread should help..
How would you go about listing United States in the top of the drop down menu of the account sign up page? This will eliminate most customers(of all probably 95% are U.S.) having to scroll thru 200+ countries to select U.S.. Any help appreciated. Thanks!..
Set the default country to 223.
If you dont ship outside north america, delete all the other countries, after you make a backup..
