I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you an answer..
Yeah, it makes sense....
The problem is users are thinking something went wrong when they checkout out bacause when they come back to the iPage site the stuff is still in their basket??.
Is there a way to clear the basket them when they click "checkout" as all the variables are passed to the payment gateway at that point??.
Understand what I'm saying?.
Have a look.
That seems simple....
Me feeling ashamed now for not thinking of that!.
Thanks for your help!!! - Gonna go try it out right now!!!..
Where is that code suppose to go? I have been having the same problem for the past two weeks with paypal. They get sent there to pay then when they come back the items are still in their carts. According to the person I set the iPage site up for some times they get think either they get timed out or the session gets dropped and that is the reason for them not emptying the cart after paying. could this be true?..
At pay pal try there auto return feture have them return to catalog/check_out_success.php see if that works..
But I would like to know were that code goes..
Ive got the exact same problem(hence I started the post) - it seems simple enough to maybe put it in when you submit the information to your payment gateway!.
Not sure if it will work though - I'm going to try tomorrow morning, I'm dead tired(been working on the iPage site 24/7!) - I'll let you know what happens...let me know if you find anything!!.
You don't want to destroy the session until the payment has been confirmed through paypal, in case something goes wrong there. You will need to include the.
On the page which paypal brings them back. (the paypal return page should be set to catalog/check_out_success.php)..
Could you yous this for robots also like I have a problem with yahoo I killed the sessions for there robot but half the time he still shows the session id becuse of the fact that I was late with the user agent.
Could I go lik.
On my index page would that work..
Yes - me again!.
Right, the problem... been working on it for weeks now! I use an external shopping gateway, which re-directs the user (and the information in the shopping basket) to the gateway to pay! The problem is, after payment, the user returns to my iPage site - with the same SID?? I gather! So, what I'm trying to say is that when the user clicks "checkout" and is re-directed to the gateway, the SID needs to be killed??.
Can and how would I go about doing this??.
SID needs to be maintained until the session is over. Obviously as they are returning to your iPage site after paying elsewhere, this is the same session..
