First off, How do I start my own iPage hosting service? Many thanks for any comment. Another quick question... Hi,.

I have just switched over to oscommerce.....

In the last two weeks I have gotten a number of Emails of people who say that they logon to the iPage site (create a customer account that is) and then from then on.....

They keep getting directed back to the sign in page when ever they click on anything else on the site..

Is this a cookie issue on their machine or is this due to me now having a secure iPage site or is this a bug in osCommerce?.

We get a lot of customers benig added but most of them do not palce orders. Wondering if they are getting thrown off!.

Anyone experienced this problem? If so what did you do..

Thanks.

Leon..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..

Thanks Matti.

I will check the cookies..

I also had a reply from someone who said that the Sessions did not work well with AOL users. So I may have to set most of them to false as well..

Thanks again..

Leon,.

Good (sort of) to see that someone else is having this issue - we've seen it through AOL (broadband - version 9) and also through the works firewall/router although we've disabled all proxy and security settings to no avail. The problem only became apparent when SSL was implemented. We have temporarily asked the developers to turn off SSL which has cured the problem but has also meant that we have also had to disable the online ordering..

Any info you get, please share - and I'll do likewise.....

As a matter of interest, are you self-developing this or using a contractor?.

Thanks.

Matti,.

Just for info - the header from ours would read as follows:.

When the SSL is enabled then the config reads as below..

Define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.versapak.co.uk'); // eg,.

- should not be empty for productive servers.

Define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.versapak.co.uk'); // eg,.

- should not be empty for productive servers.

Define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?.

Define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.versapak.co.uk <http://www.versapak.co.uk> ');.

Define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.versapak.co.uk <http://www.versapak.co.uk> ');.

Define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');.

Define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/');.

Define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');.

Define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');..

Are you really sure that the configure.php file actually reads as you have posted. the <> in the define are slightly odd to say the least:.

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.versapak.co.uk'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers.

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.versapak.co.uk'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers.

define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?.

 define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.versapak.co.uk');.

 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.versapak.co.uk');..

You say that you cannot use the ssl enabled pages. is this just your machine or have you tried it on other machines?..

The problem has been experienced from all machines within the company LAN - as wells as via an AOL broadband connection and an unknown instance from abroad. In terms of whether or not that configure.php is correct - on the basis that it's the one supplied by your colleague at Windrush (Rob) and you're the company that prepared it - you're probably best positioned to check if that is odd (unless it's coincedental that you share a name with one of the developers we engaged for this). If that does seem odd - please could you confirm what's odd about it and advise as to the correct version accordingly?.

Many thanks.

The cookie domains should actually read:.

Define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', '.versapak.co.uk');.

Define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', '.versapak.co.uk');..

This is usually caused by incorrect cookie settings in your includes/configure.php file - post the top part of that file that includes the cookie settings.
