That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..
Glad I decided to look around these forums for the answer, found it here!:.
Thanks for the link. I had actually already made that change a while ago, but am still getting forced Express mail for some international customers. No matter what option they choose. I am sure the fix to this is some simple dash or period out of place..
By the way, what advantage does ZenCart have over OSC, if any?.
From what I have seen on the site, it functions just like OSC, is there something in the back end that is different? Or is it just a carbon clone of OSC, or visa versa?.
I have made now about 5 or 6 sites using OSC for various uses, so since I am rattling off, here are some of them:.
Glossary of Aviation terms.
Plus I am doing several more using OSC, but if some how ZenCart has advantages, I might look into it..
Ok, I asked USPS n how to fix this, but they said I need to ask the store software providers. So, my only thought to be able to correct this is to disable my problem shipping mode, which is Global Express, how can I do that so that that option doesnt show up for interntaional users?.
I have OS Commerce set up on this iPage site for quiet a while now. There have been a few bugs now and then but am overall satisfied with OSC. One problem that keeps coming up is international shipping problems. Whenever certain international customers choose a shipping option, it automatically changes the option to Express mail, using the USPS module..
Is this an error in the OSC code thats causing this? If so, what do I do to fix it? Or is this something with the USPS system?.
I am not using osCommerce (yet), but I do have ZenCart installed on a iPage site and had the SAME problem with the USPS module. After several posts in the ZenCart board, I was told that the problem was an unresolvable bug. Just that week, the new version of ZenCart came out, so I upgraded and the USPS module had also been upgraded. Presto! My problem went away! The shipping method is now NOT automatically changing by the time you get to the confirmation page, great!.
However, I now have a whole new round of problems with the USPS module, revolving around very inaccurate rates for International shipping destinations. USPS tech support says the problem is ZenCart's USPS module (which is based on osCommerce's USPS module). Support at ZenCart has been friendly, but there is no resolution yet, which means my shop has had it's launch delayed by some 3 weeks now, with no resolution in sight. Very frustrating indeed. I just joined this board to see if osCommerce users are also experiencing problems with USPS WebTools, and it appears that's true..
So, is the problem with the ZenCart/osCommerce modules, or with USPS? It doesn't look like everyone has these problems. My posts seem to be the only ones over at ZenCart that describe this issue. I'll keep rooting around in here to see what I find....
All comments appreciated!.
