That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..
Thanks for that veeeery rapid answer. I located the files you suggested and have partly changed them. The catch is with the password. What is there seems to be an encrypted one, what could be done?.
Thanks again :-)..
When you created a.
DB in your control panel, you assigned a username and password to it..
Those are what you use now..
The old one, set up by an auto-install program, generates cryptic looking passwords.
It is not encrypted..

I actually RENAMED the new online shop file in public_html of Cpanel, got back the deleted folder from the trash can, looked for the password in the includes/configure.php & admin/includes/configure.php, and these ultimately worked after I used them in the transferred folder..
There is however an error problem at the top of the page I dont know how to get rid of:.
Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /home/muconvoc/public_html/onlinestore/includes/configure.php:51) in /home/muconvoc/public_html/onlinestore/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 67.
Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/muconvoc/public_html/onlinestore/includes/configure.php:51) in /home/muconvoc/public_html/onlinestore/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 67.
Any more help?.
By the way GORF just in case you have no time for this, I'm grateful for what you have done so far! :-))..
Download the file onlinestore/includes/configure.php open it and place your cursor after the last ?> then press delete several times, save the file and upload it..
Do not use the file manager to edit online as this can cause the whitespace..
Instead use an ftp program such as ws_ftp to download the file to a local machine and edit then upload using the ftp program.
If you require more information then.
Thanks a million times..... I did just that and it solved the problem..
No more ugly error messages at top of page..
Because my current free host is closing, I have to transfer a customized osCommerce shopping cart to a new site. I downloaded all the files, on my pc & am currently uploading them to a new host's server. I tested the index page & I get this error message:.
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'old-sites-username@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/new sites-username/public_html/onlinestore/includes/functions/database.php on line 19.
Unable to connect to database server!.
I know I have to change some database connection data, but where do I find it?.
In the mentioned.
/home/new sites-username/public_html/onlinestore/includes/functions/database.php on line 19.
There is neither the old site's db username nor password, so I cannot figure out in which file to change them..
Please help. I would be glad to be told which other files are likely to be affected by this file transfer..
I am quite new to osCommerce & relatively new to PHP, but learning... so please bear that in mind when explaining..
You need to edit includes/config.php and admin/includes/config.php with the new DB settings after you create a new DB on the new server...
