Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..
Definitely, what I like to do is export the table that I want to populate, this will give you the insert statements you need for that table exactly like it needs to be. Then go ahead and delete the old information and populate the feilds with the new by either cutting and pasting or doing a search and replace using your html editor..
Watch out though as this can corrupt your DB pretty severely and things in OSCommerce will go wacky. I am seeing this with a migration from 2.1MS2 to 2.2 MS2.
My login will not work correctly and the cart kicks me around from time to time. I am starting over from fresh and hand inserting the data to make sure it is correct this time, but it does save some time to do what I suggested above..
Thanks for the info, I'm new to oscommerce..
Which tables do I look at, and what is easy populate??.
Easypopulate is a contribution that lets you upload CSV files into the database. You can find it here....
May I also humbly suggest that you check out the following. It includes a tool for importing foreign CSV files into easypopulate CSV format. (I suggest you make sure you understand what easypopulate is doing before you play with this though)......
Ive downloaded my products and categories csv files from my old cart into my new one with Easy Populate, how do I get oscommerce to recognise my products and categories from these csv files?.
I don't understand what you are saying.....
> ive downloaded my products and categories csv files from my old cart into my new one with Easy Populate.
How have you managed to download data from your old shopping program with easypopulate ? - It doesn't make any sense..

My old shopping cart is CCP, which uses CSV files. I want to use the products and category csv files from CCP in osCommerce, instead of manually entering every category, sub category and product..
Can it be done?.
Firstly, apologies if this gets posted twice, but the first version seems to have 'gone'..
To answer your question, yes, this can be done quite easily - it's what easypopulate is for !.
You need to get the easypoulate contribution (link posted previously in this thread).
Ive got easypopulate, and split my products csv file (has 600+ products) using the Split EP file function, it now says it is in the temp dir..
How do I get it from there so that the prog recognises my products? This is the same for my categories csv file....
Also I downloaded the eastpopulate data file tools, but have absolutley no clue on how to use them!.
Pls help lol!!.
Maybe you need to read the instructions that come with easypopulate ? .
They are quite clear on how you use it..
As for the data file tools, as I said, I wouldn't play with these until you understand easypopulate. And if and when you do come to play with this, there's some instructions with the package - more reading.... :-).

When you do a split, the split files are on your server temp folder, named (usually) EP_Split1.txt, EP_Split2.txt and so on. the EP menu has an option to insert from your server temp file..
For the other gentleman who exported from his old store tand wants to use EP, you need to relate your files to EP, not EP to your files. EP is related to the osCommerce database, so do not change the EP setup until you absolutely know what is going on...
I would like to import my products and categories from another shopping cart prog I have to this one? can it be done??.
The files are in csv format..
You need to look at the tables, best bet is to look at easy populate contribution..
