Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably know..
OK then, how do I get rid of the "This is a demonstration store." or whatever it says on the main page...
I had the same question, actually. The front page says that it's a demo, yadda yadda yadda (I can figure out how to change that), but when is it live in that credit cards are being charged, etc.?..

Credit cards are only charged once you've set up either a merchant account, and attached it your store via the admin area; or set up a paypal account. The store alone does not have cc accepting abilities. You must have some sort of web based processor or, a manual processor to process the payemts yourself..
As for 'going live', if you can get to your store via the www... your store is live..
If it's on your personal machine, then it won't be live until you FTP it to your host. Once you FTP it to your host, and you can get to it through the www, then it's live..
You might be wondering, when do I get sales? That depends on what type of advertisements you persue, or where you get your word out. Think of the www as a strip mall in a back alley; no one knows it's there unless you tell them about it, or word gets out...
Maybe I'm just an idiot and can't believe no one else has posted this but how do you make a store go live?..
You enter in your products, change the name of the store, decide how you are going to accept payments and you are good to go. There is not just one thing that makes your store live..
You might want to start.
