Question I have... How does iPage know which domains are registered? Looking forward for any answer. 2nd question I got is.. Hi,.

Days ago I had a "friendly" visitor in my iPage site that did the favour of changing all my .php files. Fortunately I had a backup and re-loades all the corrupted files..

Now, if I go to my iPage site www.mystore.com I can get the introduction file as always (flash) but when I hit the "enter" button this error appears:.

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: '/catalgo/admin and this error appears:.

Warning: mysql_connect(): Unknown MySQL Server Host 'localhost/' (1) in /home/quaker/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 19.

Unable to connect to database server!.

Any clue to where should I look? I'm desoriented... Thanks in advance for any help..

BTW I'm using Linux 5.0, Apache 1.3.29, Perl 5.8.0, PHP 4.3.3, MySQL 4.0.15-standard.

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably know..

Make sure that you don't have a configure.php file (with wrong info) in your includes/local directory..... also, 'localhost' may not be your database server - in this case enter your db server IP address into configure.php.

Mibble,.

I've already done that, set up a new user/pass to acces the DB and changed the information on both configure.php files but I still have the first error mesage..

Johnson,.

Before my "visitor" made all his changes my store was running ok with the configure.php files I had before, I also changed the /localhost with the IP address and still not working.

Does this indicates I will need to re-install everything? Is there a way to look for the solution without having to build my DB from the start? (i had around 300 products up).

Thanks again for all your help.

For your database server you must enter simply 'localhost' or the IP address - if you enter http:// you will get that error..

Hi,.

This may be a long shot but I had the same problem. What was occuring with mine was that, although I had "localhost" specified as the mysql server, in mysql I had additional permissions set for the db. I changed the db permissons to reflect explicitly "localhost", and that cleared the issue up. Also what are you useing to admin your db, myphpadmin perhaps? Hope it helps...

If you access your configure.php files via your cpanel and open them up, you will find your database username and password. however, I would just change them, add a new user and password, set them to access your database and then put that info into your configure.php files..
