First of all How fast could I lose weight on the Medifast Diet? Thanks in advance for any answer. 2nd question I got is.. Other topics will be discussed that may not be appropriate for the easily offended..

Please discontinue reading Tough Love threads if they are going to cause you to become upset..

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++.

Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstinence from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

8. Be honest with ourselves and our Medifast family and to stay 100% OP at all times. We also swear that WHEN (not if) we are having a tough time and feel like we may eat SLUDGE, to come to our Medifast family first and ask for support and help to get us through the struggle..

Getting the banner:.

1. Copy the following text using your favorite method:.

4. Place your cursor in the "Edit Signature" area (looks like a mini version of Microsoft Word) and paste the text you copied using your favorite method.

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could help you..

Morning all! Thanks for the coffee Barb, hope you have a great day..

De.

Glad to hear your dog will be ok..

Not sure what's in store today. I really need to work on cleaning my house but it is going to be so nice I want to head to the beach. I do unfortunatel have to to Walmart for the kids. I try to limit trips there to once a month and only get this specific item..

Have a great one everybody!..

Good morning Barb, the coffee's perfect, thank you!.

Hi Anna, good to see you!.

De - Glad you hear your creation came out beautifully and that the dog will be ok. I'm a massive dog freak. I used to have Great Danes, now I have a shi-poo and I am a nanny to a 5 month old black lab - If I could play with dogs all day I'd be in heaven!.

Today is mostly running around. Barb, you'll be glad to know I stuffed three huge black plastic bags with all my winter 18s and XLs to give away - there's no turning back! I'm taking out the spring and summer stuff - can't wait to give all that away at the end of the season as well!.

Hope everyone has a great OP day - waving hello to all who follow!.

Good morning all.. Coffee is well needed today...

Slept in this morning (7:30) haven't done that in a while... Taking son to lax practice this morning, and he actually asked me to watch (he's frustrated with the level of play) looks like I'll be having a pep talk later, he's very competitive!!!.

Then off to errands and laundry.... Hope everyone has a great OP day.

Cindy..

Morning, all. Been missing you guys, but there just aren't enough hours in the day, these days. I'm not even going to try to catch up on all the days I missed, but I'm having coffee anyway!..

I watched the weather channel early and they sain the Moon is nearest the Earth right now and huge. I went outside (when it was syll dark) so sign of gorfrous mooon. Will look again tonight..

One of my favorite movies is Moonstruck with "That Moon! " Loved the enitre cast!.

Feeling slightly better today, so is DH. He had the madated flu shot for health workers and his symptoms do seem less severe than mine. Of course, I am usually on antivirals, and have so many darned viruses inside me anyway that I stopped getting the shots a few years ago. Before that, religiously. Even the pneumonnia shot because I am allergic to all antibiotics and now my favorite antivirals too. I guess my body hasn't like anythikng but OffPlan for a while..

Enjoy each and every muscle you use today 100% OP..

Hello, Steph! I would love to see you run! What a great anniversay celebration!.

Sounds like Barb will be there with her sister. Anyone else?.

I need to do a hit and run this morning but I think that I'm going to just right on in here. Hello and many thanks to Melissa et al! I have a feeling that I'm going to love this group!.

@ Barb - Thanks for the coffee. It's perfect..

@ Corbie - very, very cool! I've dreamed about it; talked about. Maybe you'll inspire me to just do it or shut up about it already!.

@ Freya - Hope that you don't mind but I've been using part of your signature to educate others - "The most important day on Medifast is the day you accept that you didn't get obese because you knew what was best for your body. I so loved it from the first time I saw it on your page. Heck, I even said it to my best friend. Said it and then left it alone. Shes going to place her first order this weekend! Booyah!!.

Hello again to everyone! I'll stop by later to try and catch up..

Peace & Wisdom!.

Kim..

Morning, K, and nice to meetcha! I talked about it for years too - the MCM is special to me because years ago I spent 8 years on active duty in the Corps - but it was never more than talk. Now it's actually within reach!..

Corbie.

I hope you have a great time at the MCM , I have a few friends that run it.

Beth.

, Walmart lost out I just went to the grocery and they can live w/o said sludge until next week.

I hope you all start to feel better soon...

Steph, thanks for your wonderful inspiration! I LOVE hearing from people who have done this and have been wildly successful over time - if you can do it... :-).

K - way to go - I also love another quote that Freya has - and I live by it: "Being on a diet is hard. Being fat is hard. Choose your hard." The minute I read it, I got it and decided to make Medifast my choice. I am beyond tired of being fat. I chose my hard. I'm here and ONLY 100% works for me!.

Waving hello to everyone!.

Off and running errands and stuff all day..

Love to all,.

Melissa..

Hello everyone! New here, but I'm going to start talking to everybody!.

The coffee is fantastic, Barb! I really need it this morning as well. I have an honest question about it though. If I drink more than 3 cups of coffee, am I off plan? I'll wait to get a response before I have anymore. And don't yell at me LOL!.

Anna, I HATE going to Walmart. Not sure why you don't like it, but for me, it's just too many people and a big hassle!.

De, I'm so happy to hear that your dog is OK. I've read two blogs in two days about people having to put their animals to sleep. I'm glad you are not one of them, but feel for the ones that are going through that. It must be horrible for them..

Melissa, good job getting rid of those clothes. Can't wait until I can do that!.

Cindy, I so wish that I was able to sleep in even if it was just until 7:30! My 2 year old gets up at 6:30 EVERY morning like clock work and my 4 year old follows right behind. Lucky you!.

Steph, congratulations to you on your anniversary and your upcoming run! Good luck! You're going to do great!.

Beth, glad you are feeling somewhat better and I'm sure you can't wait to get over it!.

Kim, I take it that you are new here. Glad I'm not the only one! Hello!.

Anyway, I weighed in this morning for week 5 and lost 1.4 pounds. Happy about it and can't wait to see what I weigh next week. This week I am going to have zero condiments and no pickle spears for me!..

Good morning all. I've overbooked myself today as usual, so not much time to talk. Have to do DSO's taxes, finish cleaning the basement, bake sludge, do lotsa yardwork, continue working on the neverending chicken condo, and go shopping. I'm going to try to wrangle a nice dinner at the end of the day, one I do not cook. We'll see how it goes..

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!..

Morning all! Thanks for starting us off, Barb, and thanks for the coffee..

This is one reason why I will not step foot in a Wally-world..

Hi- today is day #1 for me. I have a lot to lose. I need a placeto stay focused and on track.....this is so doable if I follow the plan!..

I don't like giving my money to Walmart, I am a big shop local supporter. But no one else in town sells this particular brand of sludge my children eat. My local store got them for me one but I bought them all and then no more...

Hello and happy Saturday! Three of the grands spent the night so it is a busy (and fun) Saturday morning. Hoping to spend time outside, working in the yard, once the kids go home. One more cup of coffee first though..

Steph, good to see you!.

Hello to everyone else...

Morning Peeps. Quick check in before the crazy hits. My girlie's 8th bday party is today. Need to hit the grocery store, make burgers, dedisgustify my house....Ugh. Be glad when the party's over and I can rest for a bit..

Thanks for the good wishes to my pup. We have 2 tiny little dogs - Lucky Dog who is a 12 yo Toy Schnauzer, and Bully, our little Yorkie Poo pup. It's almost worse having one of them sick than it is a child, because at least the kids can tell you where it hurts. She's already back to her old self, which is a relief..

Wish I had time to chat, but have to go get the business of the day started. I have 3 hours to do everything. Wish me luck...

Hello and welcome to Kris and Gordonboys2 - we don't mess around here - it's 100% - and we expect you to come here first before you go off plan!!!!! Got it? Fabulous, welcome aboard!.

Zoe, good luck on that dinner you don't cook thing - my favorite kind!.

Hi MT!!!!.

De - have a GREAT time with the kidlets and enjoy them. Exhausting, but fun!.

Well I have more spring/summer clothes to take out and put away. Can you believe it, it's the LAST DAY OF WINTER (well, officially anyway!) here in Tappan it's sunny, my lavender is sprouting and the birds are singing away all crazy, I just love it..

Hope every is having a great OP day!.

Melissa..

Woo hoo! And I'm going to be there celebrating with you and supporting you. My sister is running as well..

Hope all is going well with the new training nutrition plan...

I think most of these people were filmed in PA!..

Somehow, that doesn't make me feel any better about the 40 degrees and pouring rain we have this morning in "sunny" California. Spring's going to have to kick some a** if it's getting here by tomorrow..

The husband and I usually avoid household chores on saturdays by playing golf all day, but the weather is forcing our hand. He's out in the other room eating sludge and making a list. This can't be good..

Sounds like everybody's busy, which is always the best way to stay on plan. Less time to think...

There were a few days when I drank more than 3 cups of coffee, although they were decafe and black and only after I drank my water for the day. Warm liquid....tea or coffee....got me through some tough times when I was 5+1. Truth be told, it does today as well. I can always drink decafe when I go out to eat and everyone else is having that last course of sludge. I can drink it when we have a morning meeting and everyone is eating morning meeting sludge. Yes.....it has saved me many, many times...

Don't put anything away in today's size. Get rid of it!!!! You are never, ever going to wear it again. Call them your sludge clothes. Out with the big, in with the small! Spring into those smaller sizes. You aren't going to need any of those things next winter!!!..

I don't drink decaf, but I do drink it black now that I am on medifast. I went ahead and stopped at 3 since is it "recommended." But if anyone on here decides to give me permission, I'd be happy to drink more lol!..

Good morning everyone! Coffee time. Then, off to my physical therapy/boot camp appointment and then lunch with a friend. I'm feeling the urge to spend my Saturday night spring cleaning. How lame is that?!?..

Barb, I'm with you all the way - I'm up to 4 very large black plastic bags of winter clothes to give away, and I haven't even started with outerwear yet! I'm just starting to fit into my tighter 18s and all my summer stuff is XL and 16s, so I have my work cut out for me..

And I agree, tea has gotten me through some harder moments - I drink a lot of herbal (non-caffeinated) tea, it really has helped!.

Hi Sassy! Whatever you do, have fun!.

Be back later,.

Melissa..

Hello my fellow TLers. It's so nice that each day there's coffee! I LOVE just smelling it!.

I'm a Saturday Weigher, and I lost 1 pound this week. Yay, because now I am sitting about 25 pounds away from my goal! Next week I'll get a new decade. It's all good!.

De: You are right about the diff. between sick kids and sick pups. I'm also a HUGE dog FREAK. (Can you guess my favorite breed?) In this family, my dogs are my babies. They are family. My kids tease me that I fuss over the dogs more than I fussed over them.

K: Wow, it must feel good to have influenced someone to jump on the Medifast train. So far my score is zero..

Steph! Oh my gosh...it is waaaaay cool that you'll celebrate goal anniversary no.2 doing the MCM! Soak it in, girl...just soak it in!.

Kris: I'm not sure I could pull off an entire week of no condiments. I have pulled off days, but not an entire week! Good luck..

MT: I laugh at that site, but at the same time I cringe over the fact that those people actually exist and are part of the human race. Gah!.

Welcome gordonboys! Give Medifast a 100% opportunity and you will lose 100% of that extra weight!.

Sassy: I love spring cleaning! (I'm a freak.).

Allright, just thought I'd end this post with a notation on measurements. Yesterday I measured again (as I have every 3 months) and since the beginning I have lost a whopping 15 inches off my waist and 18 inches off my hips! Is that something, or what?..

Shopping-Done. Kitchen-Clean. Burgers-Made. Now to get my C**e to the party in one piece. If anyone is interested, I am going to upload the pic of my creation on My Page..

Signing off until later this afternoon...

Well, I said this on your page, but that Birthday Sludge is gorgeous and I really AM GLAD I'm not there to be tempted!..

Quick check in..

I am super sick. Don't wanna eat. Choking down broth and trying shakes but it's been making me sick..

Hope everyone else is doing better than I am..

Hey gang! I'll be doing a lot of lurking and reading this week, but I'm not sure how much I'll be able to actually post..

Sassy- You may be a freak, but I'm jealous! I have had the itch to clean all day, but I'm at my parents' house for the week, so I'm just going to have to wait until I get home. Hopefully the itch will still be there!.

The plan is going well for me. Today was weigh-in and I'm an even 224.0 now which makes 4.6 for the week (!!!) and 16 total. Not too shabby for 3 weeks. Can't get too cocky, though; I know it will slow down soon enough. Being home is harder than I expected, but it's only been 24 hours and I guess it makes me stronger? I knew it was to my Medifast advantage to live alone, but when I wan planning for coming home, I didn't think about the fact that I would be constantly surrounded by people eating "normal" food. We went to some friends' house last night for a traditional Irish meal.

They hadn't even started yet! I told them I'd already eaten, but it didn't stop the offerings and I had to sit through the entire meal and pass each dish and stare at a table full of food. And then there was the alcohol and sweet stuff. Yeesh..

On the bright side, I finally told my parents I'm doing Medifast and they're very happy. My dad has it stuck in his head that I'm basically just on a modified Atkins and doesn't get that I can't just have any kind of meat (.

) , but they're trying. I answer a lot of "Can you eat ____?", but it's not like a lot of people who would either scoff at the idea of Medifast or go "Oh you can have just one bite, come on." I'm very pleased. They were quite surprised, though, when I told them I stay in ketosis and can't have any fruit until I'm at goal. I think they though it was like South Beach where you have an initial "cleansing" phase and then add some stuff back in. Nope!.

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful MFin day and I'll be watching from the sidelines!..

I feel like sushi tonight! Sashimi and green tea for me!.

As fate would have it, I'm having a hard time coming up with an earring design that I think is suitable for the donation. I have the box all set, the tag, my card... now all I need is the jewelry! So I had to take a break...

Hey all..

Steph, hope you feel better..

Penny, sending you my muse. She's pretty good..

Shout-outs to everyone else on dogs, parties, taxes, coffee, clothes donations, etc..

Hit the 50 lb weight loss today. Blogged about it. Kinda anticlimatic..

Gotta a lot of stress in my life right so prayers and positive vibes appreciated! Love ya all...

I actually looked at this and tried to figure out what word the forum had bleeped until I realized that you did it yourself to avoid the C word. My mind is in the gutter...

Can I just say that when doing online dating that any man who starts off the first message with "hey beautiful" creeps me out?..

Okay, I've found myself doing this twice in the last week, and I need to know how weird it is:.

Perusing the grocery store for entertainment..

The first time, I had a need to be out of the houseDH was out of town and I hit the road to go shopping. At Target I found myself slooooowly walking the produce, meat and dairy aisles, finding things that are on plan and filing them in my head for future reference. And then I went and bought a new outfit for a wedding (which was my ultimate goal for that trip)..

Today? I drove down to Austin last night to join DH for the weekend before he comes home; once I dropped him off at the site where he's working I had a couple hours to kill before he'd be able to join me for lunch. I made the normal stops, like the blowout closing sale at Borders and the stop for a diet soda to wake me up, and then I found myself at the Central Market in the shopping center to spend the last few minutes before meeting him. Again, looking at produce, checking out their fresh salad bar, finding the fat content of various cheeses, enjoying the smell of fresh yeasty sludge, and looking to see if they carry Walden Farms products. Not a bit of temptation in any of thisit feels more like a pleasant way to spend some time when there's nothing else to do. Not buying anything, either..

Is it just me!?..

Thanks everyone for posting some of the things that have gotten you through tough days - tea, coffee, broth, naps, etc. Please keep adding to the list. I have had a VERY hungry day! Not sure what's up with that..

I wake up at about 5:30am each day (yes, even AFTER the time change) and eat breakfast by 6:30am or 7am. Then it just makes for a very long day even when I go to bed at 10am or 10:30am. By 12:45pm today I had already eaten three Medifast meals. Now it is 3:30pm and I've already had my L&G - should have made an eggbeater omlette so I would have quantity. I've had a pickle spear and about four almonds and one stick of sugar-free gum..

I wasn't drinking much water earlier so I've started to slug back some H2O. My next trick is a nap. Why oh why am I so hungry today?? It's okay. I know hunger won't kill me..

Yep - a nap. That's the ticket!..

Tkd a lot of times when I'm that hungry and it's not from TOM I have a big loss in the following day or so...

So far, it's break even, but the doc is encouraging me to stick with it. Apparently it takes time for the metabolism to reset itself. As long as I'm not gaining, I'm willing to be patient. For a while. lol.

Can't wait to meet you! Seems like a long time til October...

I'm having TOM and I am very, very HUNGRY! Just ate chili nacho chips an hour ago, they usually really fill me up, but not today! I've already had my optional snack (jello) and feel shaky (happens to me at TOM.) Even worse, my DH and DS just left to hang out with DS's uncle and cousins, so I'm alone at home... and good stuff is calling my name! My head hurts and I'm a little crampy so I don't want to exercise..

I'm counting down the minutes till I can eat my OP taco salad! I WILL BE STRONG!.

NM..

Thanks Anna - that's a good reward. I will keep it in mind..

NathansMom - take a nap, like me! Im shutting down now -..

Hey Pittiekisses - GREAT JOB on the loss - you & I are sisters, babe, we love our caramel dip shakes and doggies (I just adore them)..

Steph - I'm so sorry you're not feeling well - get some rest and see a dr if you need to! I had what everyone thought was a stomach virus and it turned out to be e-coli - I was so sick I was thiiiiiiiiiis close to going to the hospital. YUCK. Take care of yourself!.

Jess- I'm glad you're hanging in there, you've got some real challenges on your hands..

Hi Penny!!!! Hope you are well. Sushi for you (but not me, I could never adapt!).

Sassy - "Hey Beautiful" is wholly inappropriate at this stage in the game. Childish and disgusting! Big turn off if that happened to me! You know what to do..

Hi Tk - I have to force myself to wait until 8:30am to eat or I'd be eating at 6:00am. I get up at 5:30am, so I really understand. I have my coffee before I leave for work, and then I get super busy until 8:30 when I can eat, and I've now started to do 2.5 hours inbetween meals - works for me, but we're all different. Drink, drink, drink!!!!! When I'm really in freak out mode I line up my decaf ice teas, my hot decaf teas, my waters, my fizzy waters, OMG - you should see my desk - people actually make fun of me - pffft! Ask me if I care!.

De - great job on the sludge. I can't go there. I have to admit, I don't have that kind of will power. I can't make anything that's not on plan... maybe someday, but for now (and thankfully my dd is turning 27) everyone fends for themselves!.

Wishing everyone a great OP evening and night!.

Melissa..

Wow, it's quiet in here today! Yeah refusetoquit, I blocked that dude. That was totally inappropriate. I'm really not ok with a stranger addressing me like that...

You are right, it takes some time to reset your metabolism. I wish we had a switch that we could use to set the metabolism. It is so easy to screw it up..

We'll see how long it is to October once you start getting into those 16 miles runs...
