I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..
Thanks Christina for your input, Myself Currently using STS and I am thinking of switching to BTS. YEs you are right, you can do lots with STS but you know what is BTS do? Any one?????.
A.o. the BTS includes a templates switch. This allows me for example to work on a new template on my live shop anywhere (Only need a PC with internet conn.) without bothering my costumers. Also show it to anyone I like, while hiding it for the rest of the world until it is ready. All with only one osC installation..
It also allows you to change the content area itself by templates, and you can easyly create different templates for all small infoboxes if you like (or use one infobox template for all)..
The BTS installation does replace a lot of osC files (mainly seperating content and code mostley not changing it). So if you want to install contributions it will often take you some more time than if you use the STS. I don't really know the STS myself, but if you are not afraid of PHP and you like to work with HTML and CSS you can try the BTS..
I think the BTS gives you more control and the STS is easyer to use..
But why are you thinking about switching if you already tried the STS? What are you missing or what is the problem with the STS?..
No, I am really happy with the STS, but for a change, I decided to try BTS.
I forgot about it but: to me it is an adavantage I can use PHP (as wel as HTML) in the template files with the BTS..
Speed2 can you tell me if you can you actually change the contents of a box with the STS? Or do you only change where the box appears? Or even only where and if the columns appear?..
Yes there is a module which allow you to change the boxes sysles.
But I am not sure about the contents of the boxes..
(I assume you ment "the boxes styles", but you don't need a template system for that).
You say "Yes" but the rest of yout answer clearly is a "No" to me..
Thanks anyway, for a moment I was afraid I had been betting on the wrong horse, but now I am sure again I am on the right track with the BTS for the things I want..
Hi guys, I need some advise very badly!.
Which one you guys think is better and why? BTS or STS?.
Thank you guys..
STS by far...so many options, no limitations, and with the new version you can do category pages as well!!.
Checkout some of the sites made with STS.
It's quite handy!!..
