Quick question: I bought domain name from iPage.com. How set up the DNS records with domain registrar? Hoping for any comment. Another question I got... Good afternoon all....

I'm sure there's a trick or something buried somewhere in the support forums, but I'm unable to find it right now, sorry to say. I need help, I need it ASAP. Someone help me!.

We recently switched to OSC. I like alot of things about it, but there's alot that really honks me off. Before the switch, we were using Cart32... we were top in our search engine results and it was awesome. Within about 3 weeks of the iPage site switch, it all went to hell in a handbasket. We lost our ranks (despite the new guy telling us we wouldn't), and now it looks like it's my job unless they pick up substantially.

Enough sob sob crap, let's talk turkey..

I need to know 1) how to optimize this damn iPage site 2) how to make my page titles what they were. All you have to do to see the iPage site is click on the www link below. Before our iPage site switch, the titling was "Sentry Safety Supply, Inc. - Manufacturers - *product title here*". Now all I get it "Sentry Safety Supply, Inc.".

Y'all, I don't know what happened. I don't know a whole lot about SEO, but I do know I have alot of bills and not alot of savings to pay them. Help me keep my job!! I have AIM, I have email... please get in touch with me..

Thanks... Tim.

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

It seems the only bit that you are missing is the Manufacturers -.

As the Sentry Safety Supply, Inc. - is there and if you click on a product the product gets added so look in your catalog/includes/languages/english.php.

// page title.

Define('TITLE', 'osCommerce');.

And change to.

// page title.

Define('TITLE', 'Sentry Safety Supply, Inc. - Manufacturers -');.

Unless you are using the header tags controller..

If you are using header tags controller then.

Catalog/includes/languages/english/header_tags.php.

Define('HEAD_TITLE_TAG_ALL','Sentry Safety Supply, Inc. - Manufacturers');..

Greetings all....

Your responses are very helpful, though I don't know exactly how many of them are actually what I'm looking for. I know that if I go into header_tags.php and change the title, that would in theory work, but.

1) I don't know how to make it pull the product title to complete the title.

2) I think if I changed the title in header_tags it would change universally and not look right within pages that do not have products on them..

I don't have access to install a fair bit of the mods, that is without our iPage hosting company charging me and arm & a leg... Let me tell y'all, this past couple weeks has been one continuous nightmare with this site. I just want my search engine results to pick up again and for us to get some more sales..

Hope you can help me!.

Thanks for your continued support... Tim D...

Some of your pages appear nearly as you wish and others appear as you first mentioned..

This is wrong.

Http://www.sentrysafetysupply.com/osc/esho...2&products;_id=3.

This is almost OK and would be OK with a couple more words.

Http://www.sentrysafetysupply.com/osc/esho...products_id=132.

What's the difference between these pages? Figure that out and keep your job!.

I see the titles with the category listings and the item name is shown in the title..

Ie: <title>Sentry Safety Supply Big Beam 36GF Series Recesed Gimbal Housing</title>.

What am I not understanding?..
