If you are not getting emails at all, means you have things setup incorrectly in the admin (did you change anything in configuration/email setting) or the server just wont allow it until properly configured..
As I stated before, the contribution for email test works to figure this out..
It sends two emails, one via oscommerce, the other outside the store from your web..
From there you will be able to tell where the problem is..
Search for email test in contributions..
