Quick question: I need to find a free iPage web host, any ideas guys? Looking forward for any comment. Another quick question... There's nothing included with the app itself when you install it. I would think that there would be a nice document in HTML or PDF format giving users a start in figuring out the application...but there's practically nothing...

Good question... I dunno what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you an answer..

You mean the 'wiki' site. Where did that go?..

As I understand it, the .info Knowledge Base is supposed to develop to a set of articles, that could be published as a book and hence need to be of certain quality. So only volunteers that do know osc very well are going to contribute to it..

On the other hand there is this forum with probably all information one needs, but barely structured so especially newbies need too long to find everything they need. In particular this is true for the contributions since the so called Knowledge Base does not seem to deal with then at all..

My suggestion is:.

1) Reestablish a wiki! This could contain additional Installation and update infos, tipps, howtos, etc. (e.g. diff files) for the mass of contributions, compatibility information regarding other contribs (for example for register_globals contrib) and rating information, links to newer/better solutions and so on..

2) A list of modified installation files, i.e. osc-2.2ms2 with already installed contributions. There are a lot of must haves today (partly country-specific) and at the moment every newbie needs to do to a lot of work to get started that has done by a thousand people before. Making the first installation more efficient would certainly enhance the number of users which is good for all users..

What do you think about that?.

Yeah...I"ve been through that site...there's barely anything there. I need a document that shows me how the pages are linked and what modules to edit if I want to change the product listing page, welcome page, etc. There used to be a nice resource online but it's gone now...
