I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..
How did you install os commerce into theother directory ???.
If you copied the files just look in the configure php files.
If you used the install function (ie the install directory) most probably you overwrote your database with the default database used in stock oscommerce!!!.
Hope you have a back uo of the database you creaetd..
Yes I quite often I was the man that made him do it..
You cannot lose your database that way. So as someone already suggested you've just lost reference to it...
Well, that certainly sounds better. How can I find my reference to it?..
Look back to post 3 in this thread..
You need to amend the configuration files to point to your old data...
Actually I have lost my database that way!! I installed oscommerce.
Through the install directory.
And since the directory included the stock oscommerce which first DROPS tables and INSERTS new ones..
Do you see some products or do you get an error message??.
Are productas you see DVDs Something about Mary and Microsoft mouses.
Does your host support 2 databases??.
If you see something about Mary products go to your host c panel and check yoyur databases. if you are lucky and have more than 1 point your configure.php files to the other one..
If you have only One database try fi nding a back up of the db youcreated othrewise start over again..
PS As you say you worked for hours not days so you can make it again!!..
I am having a hell of a time installing this cart. After countless hours updating product information, my curious mind tried to add oscommerce to another directory. The other directory was created, but all of the product information is gone..
What terrible nasty thing did I do and is there anyway to undo it?..
Sorry but what exactly is the problem? I did not understand completely...
