I want to purchase a domain name, but iPage.com tells me it's unavailable?

My first question is I want to purchase a domain name, but iPage.com tells me it's unavailable? Hoping for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... I am getting screamed at by one of my clients saying that we are charging more $ than what the usps iPage website would charge for the same amount of lbs shipped with them..

As a test I added a product which I put the weight as in one lbs: 1.00.

But when I go to checkout usps gives me the following:.

United States Postal Service (1 x 6lbs).

What does that mean? 1 x 6lbs ? .

Is this why the calculation is more on my iPage site then on usps website?.

Same thing is happening with FedEx, right now their iPage website is down..or so the modules says: No data returned from Fedex, perhaps the Fedex iPage site is down.

Any help would be appriciated !!.

Thank you,.

Me.

BTW: I have handling fee and insurance for both fedex and usps set to 0..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could assist you..

And what is your shipping zip code setup as?..

I had this as 3 (I believe this was default) Now I changed it to 1 and on check out I see the following:.

(1 x 2lbs).

Which did change from before... however I compared the prices with usps and I am still higher than them..

I also checked the zip code and is set to the correct zip code..

I hope I can get to the bottom of this...

THank you for all of your help!..

Look for the following: in usps.php.

$this->_setMachinable('False');.

$this->_setContainer('None');.

$this->_setSize('REGULAR');.

Set the Machinable to 'True'.

Default is to False and it causes an addition charge for a non-machinable package...

And something else to take into consideration if you have items which are pounds and ounces. USPS round rates up to the next pound...

Thank you very much.. I will set that to True and see if I get the right prices....

How about FedEx ? I look in the FedEx file and I was not able to find this option... I am having the same problem with FedEx, would you be able to help ? .

Thank you,.

Me..

It's not obvious from the posts that this is understood:.

The total weight that is sent to the shipping services is the weight of the items PLUS the tare weight..

In your last example, are you expecting to see a quote for 1 lb or 2 lbs?.

If you don't want weight ADDED on top of the weight of the actual products (to cover the weight of the box, packaging material, etc.), the tare weight should be set to zero..

I am unclear what problem you are having with Fedex..

Please give me more detail about how it is reacting..

Also need to know which mod you are using for Fedex....

Well, right now the main problem with FedEx is the following error:.

No data returned from Fedex, perhaps the Fedex iPage site is down.

I have no idea why this started happing!! Do you have any input?..

I just spoke with FedEx and they modified their production servers to make mandatory the STATE CODE field..

As far as I know, the state code field wasn't included in the shipping module here (because at the time it wasn't a requirement), so I suppose we'd have to modify our code to include it as part of the transmission to FedEx..

For a quick fix, I installed the UPS module just to get comparable rates up and running and put a note on the checkout pages to use those rates while the FedEx rates are unavailable. I've done that in the past and it's worked fine with my customers as long as they are also made aware the even though they selected the UPS rates, their packages were arriving by FedEx...

Well, I just realized that there is a new mod for the new fedex api so I'm going to install it and see if my problem disappears....

You guys are on top of things! I love OSC!..

Wow!! This means everyone who is using this particular contribution is having the same problem?.

Thank you FEDEX!!!.

I hope an updated version of the module is posted soon....

Thank you,.

I just intalled this module.. read the README.txt very carefully and still not working... Still getting the error:.

No data returned from Fedex, perhaps the Fedex iPage site is down.

I set up debug mode TRUE and I get the following:.

Data sent to Fedex for Rating: 0,"25"10,"278765660"498,"2221DIE"8,"FL"9,"33023"117,"US"17,"33433"16,"FL"50,"US"75,"LBS"1116,"I"1401,"3.3"1529,"1"1415,"45.00"68,"USD"440,"Y"1273,"01"1333,"1"99,"".

Data returned from Fedex for Rating:.

I am not getting anything back from the fedex website.. maybe it is down?..

Yeah this is bad...we need a viable fix pronto....

Check it....

No Rates Returned, F01C : Recipient postal code and state/province do not match..

Has to do with the new API requirement no doubt. Any answers on how we can edit this with the exsisting module?.

Thanks.....

Continuing on....

Luckily I had this Fed Ex Zone Rate Contrib installed as backup. I dont know how correct the rates are however it makes for good cover until this can be sorted out....

Fedex Zone Shipping Calculations.

Good luck to everyone on this...no thanks to fedex for making some osc shops unworkable during the weekend.....

This entire situation is interesting... are we doing something wrong?..

Is anybody else having this problems? Apparently the module seems to be working fine for some and not for others?..
