Got a question, hope someone can answer... I want to use my iPage domain on different website? Looking forward for any response. Another question on my mind: Hi there!.

Firstly, thank you for takin the time to look at my post... Heres my situation..

We are currently running ms2 oscommerce on a realty website, that is listing properties instead of products, (no buying at all) basically we're just listing the propertiess for informational purposes, not to actually sell them online..

What we would like to do is add an area to the product description that will automaticly link to pdf files, zip files, and or txt files. I need this to be an easy process for the realtor, ultimately I guess we could just upload the file, and link it in the description body, BUT I'd like an easier solution for the long run. Simliar to how you upload a picture for each file, id like to be able to also upload a floor plan (pdf), disclosure forms (pdf) and a zip file..

Can anyone direct me to a place to either a. learn how to do this, or b. a contribution to do it for me..

Also, this is what I was thinking I might do as an alternative..

Set up family products 3.3, and make seperate category for all downloaded files, put them in a family so that theyre at the bottom of the page they belong to. BUT when they click that "product" theyre prompted to login, sign up, and 'checkout' we don't want to give the slightest impression that they have to pay, we'd rather them be able to directly download them from their specific page, OR directly from the property's page....

Im lost on this one..any suggestions?.

Christina..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you an answer..

I would guess that your clients (the realtors) probably aren’t very comfortable with HTML... I wonder if this contribution would work....

Dynamic MoPics.

Just a thought,.

Yeah, though the root ofthe problem is that she doesn't want the realator to have to FTP upload the files themselves..

Christina, I would take a look at the function that uploads the images. I'm pretty sure that it's just a straight ftp upload. I'd just copy the box that allows you to upload the image and start from there. Also, the 'mo pics' contribution allows you to have more than one picture for a product. I think it would be fairly simple to chage that to more than one 'download' per product...

The very thought of html makes these realtors wanna run and hide in a 3bedroom 4bath ditch just south of podunk..

What I tried to do this morning was exactly that..however the original file upload for the single image won't allow anything but jpg and gif format. I tried to go into the sql and change it a bit in there too but it's not letting me , well it lets me, just not successfully if ya know what I mean. <BR><BR>I then added 'additional images 3.3" and it does the same thing, doesn't allow for upload..

Ultimately I think whats going to happen is, I'm goin to drive myself crazy finding a way, finally find a way but be bald.

Thanks for the reply! Care to help me break the site?..

Try the WYSIWYG editor - allow a FULL HTML editing to product discription (and more) - allowing links for PDF, TXT, DWG files or other iPage site links - and more..

Good Luck!..
