Good question... I dunno what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I got an useful answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could give you an answer..
My wife doesn't need to do any weight loss. She did all hers in her early 20's (weighed 180 at age 12). But she is VERY supportive of my efforts. When we DO go out to eat, she always asks before we go if the place she wants to go has anything I can eat. She also likes lots of the veggie options I have picked up doing this. Such as neither one of us grew up liking brussel sprouts (the odor when they were cooking.) But I saw here about roasting or sauteing them and now we both love them and have them probably once a week...
My dear wife has been trying WW for a while now. She does not need to lose very much.... 20 or so lbs. WW did not work for her too well. She was wandering if there was some kind of discount for the spouse. Can any of you guys answere that? If there is a substantial discount, I think I can get her on Nutrisystem with me. Sure would make grocery shopping easier......
Not only no discounts, but I had to sign us each up for a seperate program with unique user ID's, accounts, credit card payments, etc. Maybe if you get her to use Buddy bucks when she signs up. LOL. It would be great to see a couples program or a family plan w/discounts. It would probably make business sense as it would be incentive for one spouse not dropping out. Hey Nutrisystem - you listening??.
The only thing we've been able to do through Nutrisystem is to synchronize our deliveries and there are some items not available on her D system that I get for her and we swap. (We know there's a reason for this, but she can't stay happy without the occaisional Nougat bar or Dbl Choc almond cookie and her numbers continue to be very good)..
Yes, my wife and I are doing the program together. It's the only way we can be successful at this. My wife has a significant amount of weight to lose and I'm less than 10 pounds from my goal. However, it will be easy for me to maintain my weight loss as I work to support my wife's continued journey toward her own goals. We are learning lots about why we needed to do this in the first place and developing processes that will help us be successful. We couldn't or maybe wouldn't do this as individuals...
My wife joined about 4 months after me which works out great since we're both now within 5 lbs of our individual goals. I think I guilted her into it by pointing out how unfair it was that I still had to cook real food for her while I was microwaving my Nutrisystem meals..
Cowboy, My wife received a $50 discount the first month and received a free week of the premium freezer food. However, after that, no discount! We did use the same user ID but have different passwords and therefore different home pages..
Now to the other question, obviously my wife is doing this program with me. We started on the same day. I have lost 25 pounds she has lost 13 pounds. It definitely helps with the grocery shopping, but we have a 7 year old girl so we are not empty nesting it. That is my biggest struggle is avoiding my daughters food. 7 weeks in and so far so good.
Otherwise, you will be back in those big boy jeans!..
