iPage never gave me a cPanel pass?

Got a question... iPage never gave me a cPanel pass? Thanks for any response. Another question... Hi,.

I'm setting up a clothing shop and I need to be able to set up size and colour attributes for an individual item that will then correspond with a stock count..

For example, I might have three XL t-shirts in black and five medium in white but none at all in blue..

Essentially, I'd like one item listing but several different stock counts for different combinations of attributes..

I'm sure this should be possible but I can't work out how to do it. Any help would be appreciated!.

Thanks,.

Mata.

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

I wouldn't tell you how it's done literally but I will try to give you some ideas...

You will have to implement your own functions, I really do not see how it OScommerce is currently able to do it, maybe it can...

You might add these functions to the complete order, or even the product listing page, depends on your taste.. Then the functions can store them to a database with the Username and Order Number So you later can reterive them from your admin panel (after you add them there too)...

Sorry I cant help More...

Thanks Aziz, unfortunately my programming skills are a bit limited, I'm a designer who dabbles in PHP when it's needed and I'm really not sure how to do what you suggest..

It seems like a logical thing for there to be in OSC, does anyone else know if there is some obvious way of doing this that I'm missing?..

I would be interested in a solution to this - if anyone has one..

Thanx,..

Sorry about bumping this thread again, but I'm still stuck and it sounds like others would be interested in the solution to this too!..

Try using.

Master Products Contribution.

Instead of attributes. It isn't perfect (yet) but it is the solution I am using...

Wow, fantastic, that's a big step in the right direction. Thanks!..

I need to track inventory too with shirts. I am currently using the QT Pro contribution but it is only allowing me to set stock for size. I have size and color as assigned attributes for some products but I can only set a quantity for size. Its definitely very close to what I need. Has anyone else used this and been able to set stock for different combinations of attributes?..

The combinations of attributes would be very useful, and I notice that QTpro prevents checking with the quantity in stock on the sales page, which is something that I need. Still, it looks like a step in the right direction..

Having had a look through Radders' iPage site (.

) I do like the way that's working, so I think the Master Products system is the way for me until I find anything else! Thank you!..

What do you mean?.

And I just figured out that you must enable the attributes in order to assign inventory quantities to them. So now I am able to have medium black shirts, large white shirts, etc and each combination has it's own inventory...

Well that sounds good, but the contribution itself says that it doesn't have check the quantities available in stock at checkout, so technically if you only have three of a product this contribution could mean that you sell four of them and have to refund a customer..

It's in the description of the latest update...

That's what that means! That's not good then. I need to have that inventory deducted as purchases are made. Where is Radder using the Master constribution it on his iPage site so I can see exactly what it is?..

That wouldnt work for me beacuse I have too many combinations of attributes. Size (5), Color (3-6), front pocket, no front pocket. I would have huge list of products there. What would it take for someone make this contribution check the stock quantities at checkout?.

Is this ossible to do? I would be definitely willing to pay for it...

So I think I now have two tasks in front of me:.

1. Remove options from the pulldown menus if they have a 0 stock attached. No point them being there..

2. Attach any "in stock values" to a quantity field form element. (If I can do thjis I can remove the drop downs entirely)..

Any more ?

A post of mine has been deleted which included a URL of a brand new install of Oscommerce, showing extra code that I have put in to solve both Mata's and Vrants wants and needs. I was asking for more input on this, to get it perfect for contributing - now I can't..

Well done, so called "Moderators". No wonder that there are so many forks - it seems that these days you need to fork to get relevant comments..

Ok Burt, settle down.....

Discussion in this thread had moved over to discussing/linking to a paid solution - you have been around long enough to know better.

If somebody wishes to update the QTpro that is available in our contributions section, then that would be a good thing.... it is GPL, remember?.

You may pm me if you wish further details on the issues involved..

Thankyou,.
