My 1st question is: iPage web host That Supports YouTube Videos? Thanks in advance for any answer. My 2nd question... I want the UK to be the default country in addresses, etc, or a drop down with England, Wales & Scotland..

I have posted this before, and read all the other threads on this, but I can't seem to figure it out. Is there a straight forward simple solution to this..

TIA.

Julian..

Julian,.

What we did is change the "country" to "Region".

UK Mainland.

UK Offshore.

UK Channel Islands.

Etc..

Did you modify the drop down to do this?.

If so, how did you do it?.

TIA..

Julian.

What I did for something similar was to edit the countries file in the database..

I am sure if you edit/delete the countries you do not need then that should work..

PLEASE BACK UP FILES FIRST..

I did actually look at doing that yesterday, but I wasn't too sure..

If I were to go down the database path, do you think I could add England, Wales, Scotland and get rid of the rest? I wasn't sure what to do with the country code etc..

The only problem that I can foresee is if you edit the country list and your payment provider uses the codes!..

Just make new codes ED england WS wales etc.

Just export the countries table from the DB.

Then empty the table.

Then make your new regions etc.

I've been thinking about this, why do you need the different regions, are the shipping rates different for the different regions?.

You could get rid of the country table if your not shipping outside the UK Mainland or just have one option UK mainland etc.

If his PP does then just leave all the regions to GB/UK etc.

Dave.

I use Worldpay as a payment service..

There is certin information that my website/store has to send them.

Country is one such bit, they then use this to check if the address of card is the same as delivery..

There would be no problem if you just deleted the ones you do not need but if you added some extras without recognised codes this might cause a problem..

I guess a trial and error session might be needed.

Ian.

P.S Any ideas how to add a counties list ? Is there a contrib?..

Thanks for all the replies, i'll give it a go today. I have just set up a mirror iPage site to try it out..

The only reason I want to put England Wales and Scotland is because I still get orders from Ireland, even though we have it on our terms and payment pages that we don't currently deliver there..

I have also had an order from the Isle of White as UK mainland!.

Julian.

I'll try a few ways and see if or what affect it has on my Worldpay..

Within UK mainland only. So at the moment, not even to Ireland...
