Quick question... iPage web hosts: List of Good iPage web hosting Sites in Canada/U.S.? Thanks for any comment. Another question... After searching the forum and finding 11 pages of people wanting to have a membership based cart, I can't believe I have gotten only 1 response to my previous post. So, either.

A ).

People are hoarding the info, or.

B ).

Nobody has actually gotten it to work. I guess I will just have to write my own and then I can charge for it. I guess thats the only way to do things since.

It's apparent opensource doesn't work.

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you an answer..

I don't know about your experiences, but mine has been excellent here and up to a point I have even answered a few questions myself...

That's the contrib I've been trying to get answers for. Every post I've read about it, people have had the same issue, but no one posts what was done to get it to work. I would think that by now there would at least be one post saying "do this to get it to work". I would be more than happy to do that, but I have got to get it to work first..

It was not at all clear from your original whine that you were looking for help with a specific contribution. I suggest you dig in and see if you can figure out the problem (I have no interest in this contrib myself.) There are many contribs that are flaky - the theoretical advantage of OSS is that if enough people work on some code, the bugs will get ironed out. Doesn't always work that way, but I've seen it work in some cases..

If there's a post in the Contribution Support section for this contrib, start sharing there...

That's exactly my point. I posted a previous question on this same contrib, and only got 1 reply. A couple of people have said "There are several of these". No there isn't. There is only one true membership contrib, and this is it. And, yes I have tried the contrib support area with no luck there either..

If you get only one or no replies to a post, then you need to reword what it is you are askin for AND CONTINUE in the same thread, not create a new one...

How much more direct can it get? I want to do memberships/subscriptions. The current contrib doesn't work correctly. How do you make it work?.

Doesn't get any plainer than that..

Well, since no one seems to have a clue how to do this, I went and downloaded [removed],.

Deleted osc.

And low and behold, it works....imagine that..

Gosh and you say opensource (sic) doesn't work..

Ah well, don't give yourself an ulcer..

You still never stated which membership contribution you downloaded. nor did you explain your error. anyway, now that you have the other, just so you know, it is not supported in this forum in anyway shape or form...

Not only that, but I think that references to it will be deleted by the moderators...

It's amazing how much b*tching one can do about.

Free.

Code. May you be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels...

Since my reference was deleted, it confirms my assumptions in point a) in my earlier post...

Yes you were quite correct we are all hoarding the information..

LMAO, I am new to OSC, but not to opensource. It is amazing how complex people try to make such a simple thingopensource community support that is it. They do not realize that it is a give-n-take situation, and when you demand, the only thing you get is,... well what you deserve. Additionally, when a person is not even able to ask a full question, one can only assume that they are not able to follow full directions, so why even bother? On the flip side of the situation, there are some people that are so over whelmed that they do not know what is going on, so they are not able to know what to ask, and it is hard to discern those people from the demandingother than the demands. It is nice to see this community is not so jaded by the demanding that they still help the unknowing!.

Opensource is the finest thing on this planet (apart from my wife that is). You have to bear in mind three things..

1). People who contribute to opensource and to fine forums like this have a life and other comitments, I dont suppose they are sitting at thier desktop waiting to pounce and answer questions allday..

2). If you posted the question then perhaps we dont know exactly what your asking. Be more specific and then you may have your post answered a bit quicker..

3). We dont hoard information, we just quietly conceal it.

I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but does.

This contribution.

Do close to what you want?.

A lot of times people are unclear as to what they want, and they get little response because of it. But indeed, if you can't find the feature you want, write it yourself. I've done that four times now (the fourth is not yet a contribution...)..
